This is Lauren Elliott’s eighth Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery. Bookshop owner Addie Greyborne and her assistant Paige travel to the neighboring town of Pen Hollow to attend a book sale. They buy a bookmobile bus they plan to refit as a traveling bookstore. While inspecting the bus they find several valuable 1st edition books that they turn over to the mayor. Before the bus is delivered to them the mayor has a fatal bus accident. The autopsy reveals she was poisoned. The valuable books go missing and Addie and Paige are the local sheriffs prime suspects and are told not to leave town. Addie sets out to prove their innocence so they can clear their names and go home. Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in this entertaining series.

This edition in Lauren Elliott's Beyond the Page series is her best to date. The main character, Addie Greybourne, and her friend and employee, Paige, are planning a trip to a neighboring town for a big book sale and an early birthday celebration for Addie. The two intend to be back in Greybourne Harbor the next day because Addie's boyfriend, Simon, has asked her out for a special dinner for her birthday. Addie and Paige arrive in the little coastal town of Pen Hollow, some 15 minutes from their home, to attend the big sale at the town's library ... everything must go since the library is being closed. They encounter several people who are none too pleased to see the library close and one person who seems almost too pleased to see it go and who tries to interest Addie in purchasing the library's bookmobile. While Addie is a bit reticent at first to make such a large purchase, especially since she found more than she had originally intended already, she starts to think that the bookmobile would be a wonderful addition to her brick and mortar store. While viewing the fully stocked bookmobile she and Paige find a few items that are obviously out of place and Addie, of course, begins to wonder if there isn't a bit of a mystery in how they came to be there ... she can't help but want to do a little sleuthing. Addie also runs into her old high school boyfriend who had mysteriously disappeared before their graduation. Two mysteries to solve quickly become three when someone ends up dead. It's in Addie's best interest to try to find the person's killer since the two individuals the police have at the top of their suspect list are more than a bit too close for comfort! Will Addie solve all of the mysteries she's pondering? Will she be back to Greybourne Harbor by the time her best friend, Serena, gives birth? Will she finally hear Simon say the words she's longed to hear? This book will answer all those questions and has many wonderful twists, turns, great characters, and surprises that would fit easily in an Agatha Christie mystery! Kudos to Lauren Elliott for strengthening this series with each new book she releases.

Back with Addie & Paige, this time on a book buying jaunt to a neighboring town with a closing library. While there, the ladies discover that the library's bookmobile is also for sale. Upon exploring the bookmobile, Addie discovers what she is told are missing first editions. Next thing you know, there is a fatal car accident involving said bookmobile & Addie & Paige are deemed murderers.

Lazy sheriff, interesting ex-boyfriend appears, and friends along the way. Addie & Paige, along with Simon & Marc, work to prove the ladies are innocent. The story does twist & turn, but moves along nicely. Revealed at the end "who did it", as well as a bit of surprise & excitement!

Thanks to NetGalley, Ms Elliott, and Kensington Publishers for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This is the 8th book in the Beyond the Page Mystery series and it continues to be one of my favorite cozy mystery series. I find the writing to be really good and full of just the right amount of clues and red herrings. There’s a good mix of mystery and humor. Addie is a fun protagonist and in this adventure on the eve of her birthday she and Paige head to the neighboring town on the peninsula for a library closing sale. After purchasing a bookmobile bus (and how excited am I to see that in future books??). to use to sell books at festivals and fairs of course a murder occurs and as the only outsiders present she and Paige are the local sheriff’s prime suspects. This book is great fun and I highly recommend it and the whole rest of the series.

A Margin for Murder is the 8th book in Lauren Elliott's Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery series. This is such an enjoyable cozy mystery with well crafted characters, a fast moving plot, and a twisty mystery. Addie goes to a neighboring town on a book buying venture at a closing libray, she and her assistant Paige end up with a bookmobile! When a murderensues Addie is suspect number one. A fun and twisty path leads the reader to the truth. I love this book!

A Margin for Murder is the 8th book in the wonderful Beyond The Page Bookstore and they continue to be awesome! Addie Greyborne owns the bookstore and Paige is her assistant. The two friends go to a big book sale at the library in a nearby town. The library is closing because it lost its funding. It is Addie's birthday weekend so Paige invites her to stay over for a girls weekend. Their friend Serena is pregnant and due any day so she can't go. While at the book sale, there is a Bookmobile bus for sale and Addie decides to buy it.. Addie finds some valuable first edition books on the bus that had been missing from the library and that is when all the trouble starts! Before Addie can pick up the Bookmobile, there is a tragic accident and poison is involved. Addie and Paige are suspects and can't leave town. They need to clear their names so they can go home. Addie's boyfriend Simon and friend Marc, come to help out. Addie runs into an old high school friend which adds to the story. The characters are great and well developed. Their friendships add depth to the story.. The mystery kept me guessing until the end. I always look forward to the next book in the series! #NetGalley #AMarginForMurder #Kensington #Lauren Elliott

A weekend for Addie and Paige turns them into homicide suspects when they travel to a nearby town to purchase books from a closing library. An old flame makes an appearance. Enjoyed the book which is the 8th in the series. Thanks #netgalley and #Keningston for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

Addie and Paige head to a neighboring town to purchase books from a library being closed. The overnight trip turns into a full week after the sheriff accuses them of murder.

Addie and Paige go to Pen Hollow on a book buying excursion while Catherine minds the shop and Serena gets ready to give birth. Addie finds that the library that's closing is selling a bookmobile in addition to books and buys it. While the mayor of Pen Hollow is driving the bookmobile to the library for delivery she dies at the wheel and crashes the bookmobile. When it's determined that the mayor was poisoned, the police chief decides Addie and Paige must be guilty since they're the only 'outsiders' at the library event.

Now it's up to Addie and Paige to solve the puzzle

I loved the book and the series.

Thank you to the author, the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own. Reviews are cross posted.

This is the 8th edition of this wonderful cozy series. I have read the entire series and found each book to be a great read. This is one of my top 3 favorite cozy series. In this next in series we have Addie and Paige traveling out of Greyborne Harbor and away from her bookstore to a library closure sale in another town. It is Addie's Birthday and she and SImon have a special night planned that is soon to go awry. The sale proves problematic when Addie and Paige become involved in local politics over the library closure and find some missing first editions in the bookmobile Addie buys. The books are very valuable and desired by multiple people involved with the library. Soon a death occurs of the most vocal opponent of the sale and she dies while driving Addie's bookmobile . The local Sheriff blames Addie and Paige and forbids them to leave town. They are stuck and determined to prove their innocence to the hard headed Sheriff who refuses to investigate anyone else. Soon Marc and Simon come to town to prove their innocence.

Addie does a remarkable job putting together multiple clues and investigating with her murder board. With her Birthday ruined and SImon distant she forges ahead with Paige to clear their names. As suspects abound and red herrings appear Addie has enough skills and determination to solve this murder. A very well crafted sleuth and one of my favorites of the series. The sleuth was very fast paced and kept me guessing to conclusion. I love the charcters and Addie as a protagnist is starting to have more confidence in herself. I hope Simon will stay with Addie as they are a good sleuthing pair. I look forward to the next in series. Very well done to the author.

With every installment of the Beyond the Page Bookstore Mysteries, I have consistently said it's my favorite one yet... and that hasn't changed!

The 8th book picks up where the 7th left off and brings Addie and Paige to a library sale, where unfortunately the small town's library is closing and everything (everything!) must go. While there, they meet some interesting townsfolk not too keen on outsiders but it's when one of them is murdered that Addie and Paige are pulled into the town drama more than they wanted.

I really enjoyed the characters within this book. Coming from a small town myself, I absolutely loved how they were written, in particular the "you aren't from around here..." vibe they gave off. It was wonderful to get outside of Greyborne Harbor, too. I loved Addie reuniting with an old friend, and I hope we get to see more of that friend in the future. I enjoy how Elliott always introduces one or two characters in each book that we see again, and I look forward to that in future books, too.

And the ending....! Just... chef's kiss! So well done and I enjoyed every single page of reading.

If you haven't read books 1-7, I suggest you start there as there are some side storylines that will make much more sense to you if you do. I adore this entire series and these characters.

Loved this cozy mystery! Best in the series.
When Addie and Paige go to a nearby town to buy some books from a closing library, instead of the relaxing weekend they'd dreamt of, they found themselves the prime suspects in a murder. The sheriff doesn't have enough evidence to arrest them, but he has stopped them from leaving town. So Addie does what she does best.... she begins investigating who really could have committed the crime. The list of suspects is long, and the motive is even longer. Can they solve this in time?
Love the characters, the plot is great with a nice twist at the end, and of course the sprinkle of romance was nice.

On the surface, the plot sounds simple and direct. Bookshop owner Addie and co-worker/friend Paige travel to Pen Hollow to see what she can find to buy at a library that is closing down. Then it starts to get complicated as she winds up buying a bookmobile, too. The person in charge of delivering it to her, in front of television cameras, no less, is murdered. Then it gets really complicated. Despite the fact Addie and Paige had met the woman for only the first time only an hour or so before her death, they are singled out as the main suspects. And, oh, yeah, she runs into an old boyfriend who just happens to be a best-selling author nowadays.

While I found it a bit of a stretch to believe that any police officer with years of experience would pinpoint Addie and Paige as suspects based on the fact they were from out-of-town, it does set up an interesting story with lots of twists and side-stories. Let's just say it's a good thing that ol' friend now has an accomplished lawyer on speed dial. Ironically, it's Addie's boyfriend Simon who, as coroner, pinpoints the cause of death, pulling him into the area to meet the former boyfriend, Tony. Valuable first-edition and rare books are missing and although Addie saw them in the bookmobile prior to purchase, they are nowhere to be found. Who put them in the bookmobile, which the local police insist was searched diligently? Where did they come from? Where did they go? What is Tony's connection to all this?

While all of this drama is going on, of course life in Greyborne Harbor goes on. Addie's pregnant friend nears her delivery date and seems in a panic. What is going on with Simon? Who is taking care of Paige's child while she is being detained in Pen Hollow? Why can't Addie vocalize the words "I love You"? Why do the clues seem to keep leading to dead ends? Who killed the woman it turns out almost no one in Pen Hollow liked? All these questions and more..... and, no, I'm not telling. You'll have to read the book. Finding out not just who the murderer is but why her pregnant friend's dash to the hospital seems to have turned into an emergency, whether Addie's dog has created another heart open to a rescue pup, and if that darn bookmobile will ever make it to Greyborne Harbor intact is part of the fun.

Thank you #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks for letting me evesdrop on Addie's world for a time.

I really enjoyed this book, I think it is #7 in the series. It was fast paced and kept me reading, not wanting to put it down. This book was a little different in that Addie herself was framed for murder, along with her friend Paige. So the need to solve the crime wasn't so much putting herself in danger as it was trying to get herself out of danger. To make matters worse, Simon seems to be pulling away and not only Marc, but a long lost boyfriend are there to
help fill the spot. And what is going on with Serena and her pregnancy? I will certainly continue on with this series, as this book has given me hope that it gets better as it goes on.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance reader copy of A Margin for Murder by Lauren Elliott in exchange for an honest review. Addie Greyborne owns a bookstore called Beyond the Page. Addie, Pippie, her Yorkipoo, and her friend Paige, are off on a buying trip. Addie's friend Serena, is very pregnant and due any moment so she needs to stay close to home. They head to an old library that is closing and buy a bookmobile, library tables and books. She transfers the funds and then the woman bringing the bookmobile to her drives the bus into a sea wall. Addie had originally planned on driving it, and now is suspected of murder. What an imagination Lauren Elliott has. This was a quirky story that was great fun to read.

I like this series but this installment wasn't my favorite. I've read a few other books recently that have a similar plot so I was a bit bored.

ARC Kindle Copy from Review from Net Galley and Kensington Books.

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

A neighboring book trip scores Addie a rare edition book but before it makes it to the new home there is a deadly accident. The book goes missing and the driver ends up dead as poison is found in his system.

Addie will once again be put on the spot. Will she solved the case and recover the book in one piece? A quick paced read.

Lauren Elliott's books are always ones I look forward to reading. This story involves Addie and Paige visiting another town. New locations make it interesting as you don't know the people. Their purpose for going is a library book sale as the library is closing (so sad!). Everything can be bought and although no planned, Addie buys a bookmobile!

Of course there is a murder and since Addie & Paige are outsiders, they are being looked at as guilty. Marc and Simon get involved and the investigating begins.

All fun to read, guess who is guilty and how it happened. There are definitely some special things that go on with the characters but I will not spoil.

Addie Greyborne is the owner of Beyond the Page Books and Curios, and loves nothing more than to find a good book sale. When she and her assistant Paige decide to take a trip to the neighboring town of Pen Hollow, they leave behind a very pregnant, petulant, and weepy Serena, who wants to go with them. But, since it is nearing Addie's birthday, Paige has also decided to treat her to a night out, so they will be gone until the next day...or so they think...

While at the sale, Addie discovers an old school bus that has been converted to a bookmobile, and she's excited to find it's also for sale. Completing the sale with the local mayor, Luella, she's ready for it to be turned over. But Luella wants it public, complete with television airing and turning over the keys.

Addie is also surprised -- extremely -- to find her old high school boyfriend, Tony Radcliff, living in Pen Hollow. He disappeared without a trace, and now he wants to catch up and talk to her about their pasts and where it led them today. But she's also concerned about her growing relationship with Simon, the coroner, and thinks he's been distant. Addie wonders what's going on with him, too.

But before the bus can be delivered, there's an accident and the driver is dead. The local sheriff is sure the murderers are Addie and Paige; all because they're 'outsiders' and he's sure no one in his district could have committed the crime. When Addie discovers that both Simon and Chief Marc Chandler of Greyborne Harbor have arrived, she knows she's in trouble. With both men trying to clear her, she can't just sit back and wait. Now she and Paige are on the hunt for a killer, and it isn't making them very popular in town...

This is the eighth book in the series and my favorite one so far. (A series which I hope will continue for a long time yet). I have read every one of them and have followed the characters from their beginnings -- when I didn't care for Addie at all to now, when I do like her immensely. The characters have developed and evolved, and they feel like old friends at this point.

Therefore, when Addie gets in trouble through no fault of her own, it peeved me that the police force in this town were crazy. But, it makes for good reading, and that's definitely what this is. There were a couple of good people in town -- Paige's sister's neighbor Valerie, for one; but most were crazy themselves. Not a town I'd want to visit. However, I would love it if Addie made a trip to England (read the book and you will know why).

While her relationship with Simon is put on the back burner, Addie has to ask herself who wanted the victim dead the most -- because, as we already know, there will be a plethora of suspects on the horizon -- and trying to find answers isn't easy, at least not here. But when she starts digging around, she finds that the victim wasn't as upstanding as they seemed.

The story line is original, the writing descriptive (especially of Pen Hollow), and again, the characters engaging. Ms. Elliott has warmed to her persons; she gives them life beyond the page (see what I did there?) and it's heartwarming, suspenseful, and intriguing as you try to discover the killer along with Addie. When the ending comes, and justice is served, it's a strange thing all around, but quite satisfying to read. Highly recommended.
