What a spellbinding and powerful narrative and display. I was particularly drawn to this book, Hidden, by the photograph on the cover, and then there is also my complete ignorance of the plight of the Romani people. This is a book of a picture saying a thousand words. The perfect combination of words and photos.

“They traveled because they had no choice; they were welcome nowhere.” A group of people who have faced oppression and persecution in all known history and still into modern day.

And yet the raw beauty, raw joy and raw emotion shine through on every image. The bonds unbreakable. I was particularly drawn to Playing Grownup and the Retired Migrant Worker. It makes me wonder what they are all doing right now. That was a beautiful little invitation into a world I knew nothing about. Thank you to the author/photographer for creating something so moving and mesmeric.
And thank you to #netgalley for the ARC.
