If you like crime thrillers, author Nancy Mehl’s book Free Fall does not disappoint. FBI behavioral analyst Alex Donavan is a likable and realistic character, and as she and colleague Logan Hart search for a serial killer, the quest becomes more personal. Once you start, it will be hard to put the book down, so make sure you’ve got some time to read! I haven’t yet read a Nancy Mehl book I didn’t like. Her attention to detail and knowledge of behavioral profiling and detective work make the book feel so real.

Alex is recovering from two harrowing cases back to back, but when some starts abducting women who look just like her, this case becomes personal too. And on top of that, her friend and colleague Logan is acting shifty. And when her plan to capture the perp goes awry and she is abducted herself, she has to continue to create a profile on the fly to save herself and the other women.

This book was the best yet of the series. The characters feel more like friends to me and the mystery was much more of a mental puzzle to solve. I loved how much more faith played its way into this plot and how we get to know the victims of the crime much better as well.

Overall I really enjoyed the faith elements of these books and the journeys the characters went on. Nothing felt rushed or forced, rather it felt real and dealt with real doubt and struggles.

What a fantastic ending to an amazing series!!! First, although, you can read it as a stand alone, I strongly recommend readings books one and two so you can understand what the characters are going though in this one. This book is intense, but not in just a suspenseful way, because on one hand, you have supervisory Special Agent Alex Donovan helping make a profile to help catch a serial kidnapper (and she then becomes one of his targets) and on the other hand,you have the major health struggles for Supervisory Special Agent Logan Hart. Having both of these struggles, really made the characters relatable, because we can read FBI agents as almost invincible and in this book, they aren't... they're just people. Although the end caught me by surprise, I loved everything about this book and can't wait to reread it again!

This final installment in Alex’s story did not disappoint! It was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat! And had great character development to boot! Nancy Mehl is a great writer and I look forward to reading more from her as these last two profiling series have been fascinating!

Free Fall by Nancy Mehl is the third book in the Quantico Files series. FBI agents Alex Donovan and Logan Hart create suspect profiles as part of their work in the Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU). A serial kidnapper has been kidnapping women that fit Alex's physical description. After going undercover in an attempt to lure the kidnapper into custody, Alex ends up putting her life in danger as she becomes the next victim of the serial kidnapper. Mehl has once again created a pulse-pounding plot that will keep the reader turning pages.

Free Fall is the third book in The Quantico Files series. While I think it could be enjoyed as a standalone as well, I think readers will definitely get the most out of the story and best understand the team dynamics by reading the series in order.

This book was quite intriguing. I read a lot of Christian romantic suspense books, and at times it really does feel like I've read it all... this isn't necessarily a bad thing. If they're done well, I find I still enjoy them even if some stories seem a bit more familiar... but this one truly was unlike anything else. Dealing with a serial killer and a creepy theme park theme, this was very unique and kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. And it certainly kept me thoroughly creeped out as well! I don't want to give too much away, but it was definitely a fascinating story.

The Christian content in this book was very prominent, more so than I think we see in a lot of books in the genre. The characters are constantly praying, quoting scripture and relying on their faith in God to get them through. There were a few moments where it seemed that the characters believed that because they had faith, everything would work at, which isn't biblically accurate, so that threw me off a bit, but not enough to take away my enjoyment of the overall story. There were some more 'supernatural' elements of faith peppered in throughout as well. I don't always like that, but this one was done well within the story.

Overall, I found it to an suspense are going td one that fans of Christian suspense are going to want to check out for themselves.

This was a well done and satisfactory ending to the series. I enjoyed all three books, and gladly recommend them (you will definitely want to start the beginning, as there is a strong progression from book to book!) Nancy Mehl is a master at crafting chilling plots about serial killers and criminals and this plot was intriguing and delivered the expected creepy vibes. I do often struggle to connect with Mehl’s characters and such was the case for this book/series. Alex was hard for me to like and the lack of romance after three books was frustrating. The side plot of Logan’s health struggle was not something I found necessary and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Alex while being strong and self proclaimed capable, definitely had a savior complex and was extremely selfish which was super grating. I found humor in her acting like she was profiling the un-sub and was in control while she was actually locked away after being abducted and facing the same threat as previous targets of this criminal. The faith thread was very strong with strong, it at times didn’t feel very natural, however I appreciated the focus being given to prayer and trusting God. The pacing at the end slowed down immensely and then went on turbo charge in the last few pages of the book. I would have loved to see on the page Alex and Logan’s romance, I also would have loved to get a little more closure to a few of the plot points that were introduced to the characters. The ending was definitely satisfactory, but I can’t say that I was thrilled with exactly how it all wrapped up. The criminal, serial killer aspect keeps me coming back for more Nancy Mehl books, however I am still waiting for that series that just clicks with great characters, chilling plot, and page turning suspense.

Free Fall is the conclusion to Nancy Mehl's Quantico Files series, and my favorite of the three books! I really enjoyed the pace of Alex and Logan's friendship turning to romance throughout the whole series, and the way it allowed for deeper character development. Unlike the second book in the series, I thought this one struck a better balance between the profiling and action, with more chances for the characters to get out in the field. The villain was the perfect evil mastermind, keeping you guessing without being too creepy. The satisfying conclusion topped off the book and the series perfectly! This is a solid series for suspense fans.

Free Fall by Nancy Mehl is the best romantic suspense novel I read this year. I devour this genre and read quite a bit that is published in the Christian realm. I truly believe that Ms Mehl’s writing is right at the top. Her novels never cease to surprise me and keep me hooked throughout. Somehow, she simultaneously surprises me and leaves me with a satisfying conclusion. Her writing is truly special and she has become one of my favorite authors of all time. I cannot wait for more! This book was gripping! There was always something happening between Logan wanting to be there for Alex and all of their profiling trying to figure out who the kidnapper is. You just keep turning pages in this book! Alex questions herself and it has me questioning right along with her!

Free Fall by Nancy Mehl once again demonstrates how she is still a master storyteller. Characters that you absolutely fall in love with and cheer for a happy ending.

Alex and Logan are behavioral analyst for the FBI. Logan has just returned from some extensive training. And being away did make his heart grow fonder for Alex. She is still dealing with some emotional baggage. Goodness sakes who would not drop everything to be with a character like Logan!! My only complaint :).

The time jumps here strategically placed to provide the most suspense. well done Nancy. As they are working the missing case for the missing woman they realize there are more missing women out there. We get a picture into what is happening but your are still left guessing as to who is in charge and why.

I am sad to see this series end as I always am with Nancy’s books. She creates characters that you want to see more of. I would recommend this book and the entire series. You will get so much more out of the character development if you read the entire series.

A strong ending to the series. Felt a bit rushed at time but because so much was going on. Truly lots happening on multiple layers with multiple characters.

This was a very interesting last book in this series (at least I’m assuming it’s the last book). Nancy did a great job keeping the reader guessing about who is behind these kidnappings, sort of. I mean, we know who is doing it but the men we meet will make you wonder which one is which and who can we trust.

I enjoyed the story but I don’t agree with Nancy’s theology. I think at least two times she has her characters say that it isn’t God’s will for them to be sick. This is a prosperity gospel mind set. I agree that when God originally created the earth and humans that wasn’t his will but because of sin the Word is clear that we will experience trails. If this isn’t God’s will then he isn’t completely in control but I believe God is sovereign and nothing happens outside of His will. I used to believe the way Nancy does but it lead me to a very bad place with God and I found myself demanding he answer my prayers the way I want and if he didn’t then he wasn’t that good. Yikes, not a good place.

Anyway, I did like the story, it was very engaging and I couldn’t wait to see how it would end.

Alex resembles the women being kidnapped so she puts herself out there as bait. Logan doesn't like it one bit. Logan is struggling with severe headaches that he attributes to a fall he had recently.

This is a fast-paced story that you won't want to put down. I recommend you read the other books in the series before reading this one. It can be a stand-alone book. But the others will fill in some of the blanks for you.

This is the third novel in The Quantico Files series and, while it can be read on its own, it will be best appreciated if the earlier books are read first. It contains a good balance of the characters' personal stories and suspenseful action. The main characters are Alex and Logan. Alex experiences the suspense while Logan's character centers on his personal experiences.

The main characters are FBI agents in the Behavioral Analysis unit, profilers. I felt there wasn't as much about the actual task of profiling as there has been in the previous novels. There is a need to understand the villain, however, and Alex suffers when her analysis proves faulty. The end is quite suspenseful although I did feel it had the cavalry to the rescue feel to it.

The strength of this novel is the clear salvation message it contains. Both Alex and Logan must trust God for safety and a possible future.

This is a good novel for readers who like the FBI agent kind of suspenseful plot but with a good deal of personal life included.
