Coming Home by Shelley Shepard Gray is a charming story. I enjoyed the author’s descriptions of Woodland Park and the Colorado Rockies. It sounds like a beautiful area to live. This is a character driven story with characters of varied ages. I enjoyed getting to know Chelsea Davis and Anderson Kelly. I thought the characters were realistic and relatable. I admired Chelsea’s work at the senior center. She is a kind and patient woman. Chelsea’s son, Jack is sweet and perceptive. Chelsea and Anderson were young when they broke up. I understood Anderson’s reasons and Chelsea’s reaction is something many women can relate to. Both of them need to find a way to forgive each other and themselves so they can move forward. There is a cute subplot involving two of the older characters. I love how it played out. My one complaint is there is repetition of details especially regarding Chelsea and Anderson’s past romance. I am looking forward to the next A Woodland Park Firefighters Romance. Coming Home is a feel-good story about forgiveness, relationships, family, community, and love.
