This was such a fun book to read. Informative about bigfoot and cryptozoology. I love how the author combined myth and science in her search. I highly recommend.

Books about sasquatch are usually one of two things: one that assumes the beast is real and brakes down it's fictional biology or one that lays out the science that suggests it isn't real and why there is still a little mystery. This is neither of those things but more a series of essays about investigating, the experience of meeting believers and skeptics. Rather niche.

4 stars = Great! Might re-read.

This is well done and engaging from the start. It seems older than the age range I saw online of 8-12. I'd say more 10-14, but a precocious 8 year old who loves the topic could be a perfect reader for this. The science focus here is solid, and this includes names of some key figures in the history of the hunt for Bigfoot. Some really fascinating science covered here - kids are going to love this! I hope the rest of the series is as well done as this book.

I loved this book. It was written well and have a good layout. There are a lot of facts and a lot of ideas. You can tell that the author did their research. My son loves Bigfoot so he enjoyed this as well!

A wonderful book that uses and explains the Scientific Method, and general science research, through the lens of the scientific community's search and interest in Sasquatch.

The author is personable and that shines through in the tone of the book. It balances the curiosity and humor by tempering with scientific seriousness to make this a great book for all readers. It never feels like the author is laughing at anyone nor excluding anyone from the fun of the search. This is a great book to also introduce concepts of research and media literacy (what is a good source, how can you check facts) as great tools for young adults (and everyone) to have.

The illustrations were lovely, and while longer than I expected (for some reason I thought this was a picture book), it was a quick read and I wouldn't change a thing.

I started listening the author's podcast (Wild Thing, season 1) to learn more and I am enjoying that too!

I had some trouble reading this on my phone, but it opened fine on my browser. It was longer than I expected because for some reason, I thought this would be facts about Bigfoot, but it's actually a good book about Sasquatch AND science, including the scientific method. I enjoyed it a lot.

This book was a fantastic exploration into the hunt for Bigfoot. I loved how the author included a great explanation of the scientific method. The book's diction was easy to follow, and I liked how the author engaged the reader through the text. I would include this one in my elementary library.

Laura Krantz gave a great account of her thorough research into Sasquatch which middle grade readers and up should enjoy. Her conversational tone throughout makes the reader feel you are there. Strong sensory imagery builds suspense. She interviewed numerous people -- those who reported sightings, researchers who have dug into the mythical creature, and primary source material from her relative. It's a terrific example for students of investigative reporting woven into a nonfiction narrative.

Are you curious about whether Sasquatch exist or not? This is definitely the book for you! I am Mom to 2 Squatchers aka Sasquatch Hunters. This book was chalked full of information on Sasquatch and the hunt for evidence that Sasquatch exists using science. We were kept on the edge of our seat while we waited to learn about the DNA evidence. I highly recommend this book for anyone curious about the existence of Sasquatch.
