That sounds like such a meaningful and uplifting read—Let's Be Kind seems like a beautiful reminder that kindness isn’t just a feel-good idea, it’s a force that shapes history, builds communities, and empowers individuals to change the world. Framing it through real-life heroes like Harriet Tubman and everyday changemakers like Joshua Coombes really drives home how kindness comes in so many forms—big, small, quiet, bold.
And John Francis, the Planetwalker himself, is the perfect voice for this message. His story of silence and walking in service of the planet already speaks volumes (pun intended!) about how intentional action and compassion can ripple outward.

What we need in the world is more stories about kindness. Reading stories about Human Kindness brings joy and hope. I would spread the book out and read a story each day and have conversations about the stories and have students reflect on the stories and how they can model that in their own lives.

This is a great book for kids. We read it to our toddler and he's a bit young, but he enjoyed the context of it and the illustrations/colors.

Terrific book to start (& continue) a conversation with kids about kindness. Wonderful illustrations make it easy for younger kids to follow along. Highly recommend.

This cute illustrated book was a perfect way teach my son to be kind. It also brought up a lot of questions for him, he’s 6. So we had a long discussion about kindness and is now saying that he wants to the a kind kid. Win. Great book!

This book covers all elements of kindness, from people in history who are known for their kindness, such as Ghandi, to organizations or careers that help people in times of need, such as the red cross or nurses during war, to ways that you can be kind to others. With lots of biographical information as well as time lines and background information, this book really does seem to cover everything! The illustrations are interesting and support the text, which is written in an accessible font that is fairly easy to read. As a grade 3 teacher I often teach about kindness and generosity and it is a concept that can be a bit challenging for children to understand and reflect on. This book shows that kindness is a range of ideas that can be acted upon at any age. It also shows that the impact of kindness is huge, even when the act is something fairly small. I could definitely see this book in my classroom library and as a resource for my lessons on kindness. I would recommend this book for parents and teachers of children in the 6-12 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book made me feel good while reading it. Kindness is everywhere and anywhere. It discussed different people and how they spread kindness through living. It has fun facts, quotes, and colorful and bright illustrations! We NEED more books like this for young readers. Even as an adult- it was fun to read! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

The graphics in this book are fantastic and the format of concise stories was great for kids. I like that the author included information from various time periods as well. Some definitely felt more current events than acts of kindness, perhaps an attempt to try and make it more culturally relevant? But it was still a nice book overall. The dictionary in the back was also very usable for children.

I absolutely love this book! The author starts with examples from his own life, then looks at the history of kindness through archeology and ancient texts including different versions of the golden rule from around the world before moving on to more modern examples. This book includes examples both large and small from around the world. It discusses the importance of kindness and give suggestions that are easy for kids to act on. The illustrations complement the text beautifully! I hope this book finds its way into the hands of many children, teachers and parents. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
