When in Rome basically took over my life for a day.. because I think I read this book in a day? I mean I think I started it yesterday and I finished it today in the morning, so.. YEAHHHH Sarah knows how to grab my attention instantly.

Also I love that everyone totally knows I was going to love this book lmao. Everyone @ me saying this was the perfect book for me. AND YOU WERE NOT WRONG. This book got every single thing I like in romance books, so it was a no-brainer. A city girl, who happens to be a famous pop star, ends up at a small town and meets the grumpiest man ever. She feels very lonely and is tired of her celebrity lifestyle, so a bit of rest and relaxation is what she needs before her nine-month tour starts. But then her car breaks down in front of this front lawn and the owner of the house is none other than the grumpiest man ever lmao. Noah is emotionally closed-off because of a broken engagement, so his walls are way up high around his heart. BUT TRULY AMELIA BREAKS THEM DOWN EASILY BC SHE'S SO EASY TO LOVE AND SUNSHINE GIRL AND NOAH CANT HELP BUT LOVE HER SO MUCH! That's right.

I'm so very excited for the sequel as well because bodyguard + flower shop girl???? YESSS AND THE COVER IS TOO CUTE. I'm in love with this small-town romance series... and everyone should read it when it comes out pls. I cried, smiled, swooned, everything! I do want to mention that this book is closed-door so no smut or anything. But that doesn't mean it isn't sexy. Because there are SO MANY moments where the sexual chemistry and attraction between them is right there in front of them. There are some sexy moments hands down. But yeah, closed-door sex scenes.

Amelia (aka Rae Rose, pop muhersic star) needs a break so decides to head to Rome like Andrey Heapburn did in "Roman Holiday." But she chooses the closer-to-home Rome---Rome, Kentucky. Her car breaks down on the front lawn of Noah Walker, grumpy pie shop owner. He decides to let her stay in his guest room until her car is fixed. She becomes enamored with living small town life, and he decides she's more than a glamourous pop music princess. And so it goes...

When in Rome was a great read! Amelia is a singer that has no say or control over her life until one day she decides to escape it all. Amelia and Noah both have decided that neither can comit to a relationship so they go through many differnt hoops to try to avoid eachother. However, will the effort to stay apart really bring them closer together?

Absolutely loved this book and purchased it for the library. I was so pleased about how well the story flowed and the chemistry between the two characters! I really enjoyed how Noah and Amelia connected and how their perceptions and paths changed based on their time together. I am also such a sucker for small town romance and Noah's small town baker life is just so great, which made is so wonderful how they both gave eachother amazing new experiences and showed that life is meant to be lived!
Highly recommend to everyone and now I need to catch up for the sequel!!!

This was an ok read for me. It was truly nothing special - but also not too bad. I will probably not remember any detail of this book in a week or so. I am not entirely sure why but I just had a hard time connecting to the story or any of the characters in it. It was cute at times but that is about it.

This was a really sweet story. I really liked Amelia and Noah, and it felt more realistic than most celebrity romance stories.

I am so in love with this series and the family that it centers on. While the plot was a little hokey and contrived, the characters are cute and make up for it. I'm excited to continue reading the next installments.

I’m very late to review but hey! I got way too busy with IRL things…but this book was so lovely. Beautifully written. The characters were chefs kiss and the book didn’t feel super rushed . :)

WELL I GUESS I'M IN MY FLUFFY ROMANCE ERA???? ✨️✨️✨️✨️

I had doubts in the beginning because it felt as though everything moved quickly, including their first kiss... but then everything became slow, in a good way. They actually fell in love, and you get to see it happen. It felt like a crossover between a Hallmark movie and a Gilmore Girls episode. It just felt good to read. I love me a nice small town story, and I'm also a simple girl. If he reads books, and if he reads to the girl, I'm freaking sold.

When in Rome by @authorsarahadams

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.75)

Rae Rose, the Soulful Pop Diva, decided to escape her celebrity life in order to have a vacation. Despite her fame, she felt lost and lonely. She misses being just Amelia instead of Rae Rose. She missed having a relationship with her mom and having real friendships. So, after an impulsive decision, she drives to Rome, Kentucky in a Roman Holiday style.

“What would Audrey do?”

Amelia finds herself stranded in a small town of Rome, where she meets Noah Walker, a grumpy and jaded pie show owner/baker. He rescues Amelia in the middle of the night after her car breaks down in front of his yard. Forced to shelter the pop star, Noah does everything he can to avoid her and his attraction towards Amelia. But would this grumpy, sulking pie owner keep himself from helping Amelia find the peace she’s looking for?

Pros:
🎤 forced proximity
🎤 grumpy-sunshine trope
🎤 small town romance
🎤 amazing banter between the characters
🎤 super cute nicknames

Cons:
🥧 very close to being insta-love than a slow burn
🥧 closed door romance (I’m not necessarily opposed to this but some people might)
🥧 problem resolved too fast? I mean I LOVE how Noah is mature enough but I wanted groveling?? lol (I mean… is that bad?)

This is a cute and fast read and a book I recommend for light reads with a little bit of romance!

Though I found this novel slightly predictable, I enjoyed it nonetheless! It contained all the classic elements of a Hallmark movie-esque novel and not only did I enjoy the main characters, but appreciated the different personalities of the side characters surrounding them. Adams has a beautiful ability to bring a location to life and Rome, Kentucky was no exception. Noah and Amelia seemed at first to be an opposites-attract pairing, but upon deeper knowledge of their characters, it became clear they had more in common than meets the eye. This was a lovely and sweet novel and I am eager to read more from Sarah Adams!

When in Rome was such an amazing romance. After reading this I know that it is one of my favorites that I have ever read. Amelia Rose (also known as Rae Rose to her fans) tries to escape to a small town called Rome, Kentucky in the middle of the night to try and find herself. After years of fame, she feels suffocated. Her car breaks down in front of Noah's (a grumpy pie shop owner) house. After letting her stay in his guest room until her car gets fixed the two become closer, developing strong feelings even though they established a rule to only be friends, no romance allowed. I loved the dynamic of other characters in this story, and reading the love between Amelia and Noah was such and incredible time. I LOVE small town romances, and this quickly became one that I will constantly recommend. After finishing, I immediately started reading Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams because I could not get enough of these characters. I felt every feeling in this story, and could not put it down.

A Super Cute Romance! Sarah Adams caught my attention with The Cheat Sheet and I was very excited to begin her latest book. The first thing I have to say is that the pacing of the plot and the relationship itself was absolutely perfect! I love a celebrity goes away from the fame book (very Make It Sweet vibes). There wasn’t the hidden secret of fame which brings down a lot of books with the same premise and I LOVED THAT! Will definitely be recommending for those wanting a start in the romance genre.

When the famous pop singer Amelia (Rae Rose to fans) breaks down in Rome, she never expects to break down in front of pie shop owner Noah’s house. However as Amelia and Noah get to know each other, their differences don’t seem as important as they were before.

So full disclosure, I started this more than one time - I just couldn’t get into it. I loved The Cheat Sheet, and this was just such a slow start. However, when I finally got into it, I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the rest of the books about the Walker sisters!

I am a die hard Sarah Adams stan but this one isn’t my favorite. It felt forced and kind of fake, but it did accidentally set up an insane level of hype for me regarding Annie and Will’s book. And a win is a win!

I read this series out of order. I read the most recent one last month and really didn’t get on with it. I enjoyed this one a lot more! I’m always into a celebrity trope and I thought the small town was a great character. I also heard Sarah Adams might write an open door next? Excited for that!

My favorite Adams book yet! I absolutely loved this grumpy sunshine, forced proximity romance. The leading man was swoon worthy and the slow burn build up of their tension payed off beautifully. I loved the town of Rome and can’t wait to read more.

This was such a fun, cute story. I felt like this could easily have been a Hallmark movie. It was an easy, enjoyable read.

I have been putting off this book for sooo long but, once I started, I was thoroughly hooked! Our MMC is a pie shop owner in the small town of Rome, Kentucky. Our FMC is an international popstar struggling to breathe while trapped in her stifling life. These two are complete opposites on paper but Noah needs a breath of fresh air in his life and Amelia needs someone to see the real her. They just might be exactly who the other needs.

Read this book if you like:
- celebrity romance
- small town vibes
- cozy romance reads
- baked goods

When in Rome is available now and if it's not already on your tbr, it should be!
