Exciting and scary thriller! Excellent character development and suspenseful twists you won't see coming. Excellent psychological thriller

Unbelievably well written for a debut. It was full of twists and turns and there were times when I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this to anyone who loves psychological thrillers.

This is an intriguing story of cat and mouse. Told from two POVs, the plot is over the top and I was pulled in immediately. Noelle feels like she is living a dream. Unfortunately that doesn’t last and she soon feels like her life is a nightmare. Noelle goes to the extreme to escape the control of someone she once thought was the answer to her prayers. The narrators do an excellent job bringing the story to life while adding an element of depth and suspense. Addictive and highly entertaining! Thank you Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.

(3.5)
I liked this book. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it’s well written and does pull you in so that you really have trouble walking away from it while you’re reading it.
Noelle has been in a relationship with Daniel for some time now. However, by the time she realizes certain things about him, it’s too late. Dr. Daniel Ashcroft was a person she thought was nothing short of perfect. He’s handsome, protective, romantic, rich, and just the ideal man. She thought she was the luckiest woman alive. Then the rumors started.
Noelle began hearing rumors about his past girlfriend. She had vanished without a trace. Imagine how Noelle felt after hearing that then finding the cameras Daniel planted around the house so he could keep an eye on her.
Noelle was trapped. It was made clear that she would not leave him. She knew that leaving him risked the lives of everyone she loved. Then she came up with the perfect plan. She would have herself kidnapped.
She should have known that even that wouldn’t get her away from Daniel. He would never let her go that easily. So, let the games begin.
I can’t really tell you more about this book because it is a thriller and I can’t give everything away. You’d be quite peeved at me I think.
For me, this did read a lot like the book “You” but it wasn’t like the actual book by that name. What I mean is that Daniel talked to Noelle a lot in his thoughts so he would say things like “You know better” or something like that so the word ‘You’ was used quite a lot.
This was good. It’s written well and does suck you right in. I liked this one and would definitely recommend it.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of the audiobook from NetGalley. It’s fantastic. It has two narrators, one for Noelle and one for Daniel, which really brings the urgency of the story to light. I recommend this version if you like audiobooks.

DNF. Got about 10% in which is low for how long I usually give books a chance but I just didn't like this story/couldn't focus on anything happening.

Listened to this on on audio. Not keen on US accents but then again I didn't realise the author was from there so made sense. Thought this was going to be the usual creepy partner, emotional abuse etc but it became much more than that. Wasn't expecting the ending. Kept me entertained. Enjoyed being part of the blog tour for this one and will definitely be looking out for more books by this author.

A dramatic domestic thriller, Noelle gets involved with the perfect man, Dr Daniel Ashcroft but is he really so perfect?
It does make me wonder what is expected of women when they sacrifice their independence just to be with a man, he's handsome, a doctor, drives a flash car, really you want someone who loves you and you like being with. Anyway, Noelle realises just a little to late that Dr Daniel has her future all planned out.
Plenty of twists and chase scenes a decent 3*.

A thrilling story that kept me on the edge of my seat while I tried to figure out the twist. The concept of someone trying to disappear on purpose that went wrong was a fresh story plot I haven't read before, along with nodes to familiar characters and writing styles such as Joe from YOU for example. I finished this book in two days because I just needed to know what happened next. The changes of POV between the two main characters keeps the reader attention and has fast paced chapters. A few plot areas did feel not believable at times or kept dragging on with the same issues the protagonist kept circling around which made parts feel it could have been left out. The twist at the end was smart however I did figure it out early on of who, just not the why. This is a story I would recommend for readers that want a quick paced thriller story and enjoyed similar antagonists

cw relationship abuse, gaslighting
A novel that's both unexpected and unnerving, not for the ' new-to-psychological-thriller' readers. It hooks in and then it makes the reader experience the worst imaginable abuse a person could endure, not for the faint of heart.

I found this to be a fresh take on a domestic thriller. The book kept me interested but I did figure out what was going on quite quickly. Overall, I enjoyed it and will read more books from this author.

Thank you for the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy of Make Me Disappear. I enjoyed listening to the book as part of my daily commute to work. Thankfully I drive alone as I did find myself shouting at the narrator several times because of some of the weird and wacky decisions that the protagonists made. Entertaining enough though.

A nail-biting story about a doctor's girlfriend who tries to escape the abusive relationship by having herself kidnapped. Leaving one abusive relationship, just to find herself in another one, leaves Noelle with no choice but to disappear, leaving behind her career as a nurse and her last family member, her pregnant cousin. But the kidnapping does not go as planned and not all is as it seems. Interesting plot, good narrators.

Debut? Wow! Bravo for this OTT yet highly entertaining thriller. The two main characters are the love ‘em, hate ‘em type. Dr. Daniel is the narcissistic overbearing sociopath while Noelle is the strong “take matters into your own hands” female protagonist. Both had me gripped.

Yes this book requires some suspension of disbelief as it takes the reader on a pretty wild journey. For instance, the “planning your own kidnapping” was a delightful twist but completely unrealistic. However, the author somehow makes these threads work despite the implausibility.

There’s a little bit of everything in this read…suspense, cat and mouse games, mystery…The story is initially told from Noelle’s perspective in two timelines - past and present - but eventually switches to alternating between Noelle and Daniel. The audio performance was terrific. Daniel’s narrator seriously brought the story to life.

I recommend checking this audiobook out. Not your typical domestic suspense.

Thank you to Bookouture and NG for an advanced audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Wow what a fantastic story . Right from the start I was page turning like a crazy lady because I just knew this was going to be a brilliant book. Its storyline was that thrilling I was totally engrossed the housework could definitely wait.

I listened to the audiobook and loved both the narrators it was so much better having the male and female narrator. They were just a perfect fit. They really brought out the wonderful sense of atmosphere and tension that the book contained. I have a terrible memory for character names lol the main female protagonist wow her character development was amazing I was so invested in her character and I despised the main lead but im a good way. I loved to hate him.

This book was packed to thebrim with shocking twists and turns that I had to stay up late to finish the book.

I really can't recommend this book enough. If you love psychological thrillers then this book is definitely for you. It's a must read book!!!

Only the highest of praise goes out to the author, narrators and publishers for creating this absolutely fantastic edge of your seat roller coaster ride book. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this very talented author.

Make Me Disappear
By Jessica Payne

Dr Daniel Ashcroft is a successful anesthesiologist who controls every aspect of his life, including his girlfriend Noelle’s life. Noelle found the cameras he had around her house & she suspected they were in her cousin and aunts house too. He has to know where she is and what she is doing at all times.
How can she get away from this narcissistic pathological man?
Noelle creates a plan to have herself kidnapped but things do not go as planned as her captors are not following the plan that Noelle paid them to do. What is happening? Will she ever make it back from this? Who is really behind her kidnapping & why is this kidnapper Jack helping her?

I enjoyed listening to this story & am looking forward to more stories from Jessica Payne.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy of this audiobook in return for my honest review.

I don't think this one was for me. I couldn't really get into it and ended up deciding to DNF it pretty early on. Thank you for the opportunity to review it.

I’m unable to review this title as the audio version is, for me, dreadful. The narrator is so slow and sounds like a discombobulated Daley. . I’ve tried increasing the speed to 1.5 but there’s little improvement. A rare dud and I guess the written version might be a better format. I’ve given 3 stars as it’s unfair to award 1 star for the narration when the story is probably worth far more.

My thanks to the publisher for a review copy via Netgalley.

A suspenseful cat and mouse between the "perfect' doctor Daniel and his girlfriend nurse Noelle. But when Noelle starts having doubts and wants out, what else is there to do when she starts to fear Daniel. Disappear and never look back. Yeah right!!

Narration was spot on between male and female. They kept a good pace and made it very easy to follow.
