The younger two Flynn brothers are attending their grandfather’s annual Stag Ball for different reasons. One must find a bride to secure his inheritance; the other is looking for revenge.

One Magic Night by Alexa Aston
Aiden Flynn must find a bride and marry within two weeks in order to secure his inheritance from his grandfather, the Duke of Savernake. Lady Larissa Warren needs to find a husband at tonight’s ball, or she will have to wed the man Lord Campton has chosen. As soon as Aiden sees Larissa, he decides she is the one. They are quite attracted to each other, but can he convince her to look beyond the family reputation and see the man he is?

The Sin Commandments by Kathryn Le Veque
Rory Flynn is the wildest of the Flynn brothers. He has come to the ball to exact revenge of the man who has continued to badmouth his family because he was jilted all those years ago. Before he can carry through with his plan, he rescues Lady Edith Rhodes from a scandalous scene in the garden. He never expected to find someone who fascinated him so, and who could cause him to change his plan for revenge. Now he needs to prove to her and to her father that he is worthy of her.

Two beautifully written stories by a pair of very talented writers. Both stories are exciting and heartwarming. Aiden and Larissa and Rory and Edie are awesome characters and great couples. I happily recommend this duet.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Regency England

The amazing younger Flynn brothers decide to find their brides anyway they can and when the Stag ball given by the Duke of Savernake takes place, they make their moves!

The Sin Commandments by Kathryn Le Veque
Rory Flynn carries a lot of angst and decides to compromise a daughter of a man who has sinned against their family. What he doesn't expect is the lovely woman he cannot resist. But who is she really? Wonderful

One Magic Night by Alexa Aston
Aidan Flynn has tried to live an upstanding life, but finds out to inherit a property he has to wed now. When he meets Larissa, he feels she is the one, but it will take some convincing he is not one of the "sinful Flynn's". She is a little desperate herself- but will he convince her? Lovely!

This is two fantastic short stories in one book by two different authors.
Family, The Gift, Sinner Flynn:
Aiden and Larissa's Story:
When a book has you in tears and laughing out loud you know this is a good
story, with characters that you become attached to.
Loved the entire plot, characters, horrible villains, heart pounding romance
bursting with desire and a happy ending with a terrific epilogue.

Secrets, Vengeance, and Pirates
Rory and Edie's Story:
What a fun yet deeply emotional story of two wonderful characters.
This story follows Rory the third son and shipping magnet as he
meets and rescues Edie from a scandalous situation. The attraction
between them is powerful and is going to change both their lives forever.
He has to fight hard to get what he wants and makes an important deal.
The cast of characters were wonderful and the familiar DeWolfe characters
were a delight to see again.
I highly recommend this dual story. A pleasurable read from beginning to end.

One Magic Night

In this fun romp with Aiden Flynn, he has been informed that in order to inherit a favorite property from his grandfather, he must marry. The downside-he only has two weeks to find his bride. Lady Larissa Warren is looking forward to tonight's Stag Ball. Her home life has been unbearable for years and her wish is to find a man that she can marry and soon. When her father tells her to find a husband that evening or prepare to marry an elderly letcher, her mission becomes dire. But Aiden has fallen for the Lady and has no intention of allowing her to be the wife of anyone else. He just needs to persuade her that they are the perfect match. (Be prepared for a few surprising twists in this novella!)

The Sin Commandments

Edie Rhodes hasn’t quite learned the lesson that if a man tells you he is separated from his wife, it means since breakfast. She wants to be the wife of Myles-a man that is “unhappily” married and promises to divorce his wife. It is at the Stag Ball that she finally sees his true character and meets Rory Flynn. Rescued from the middle of a scandal in the making, she and Rory began to talk. Immediately at ease with each other, their secrets are shared. What Edie doesn’t realize is that her family believes that a Sinning Flynn is no better than a philandering husband. Rory refuses to take no as an answer from Edie and her father. There are a few side stories that make this novella an enjoyable, fun read.

When Irish pirate, Sean Flynn becomes the Earl of Sinbrook and marries the Duke of Savernake’s only daughter, after she jilts her betrothed, they and their sons are forever on the edges of polite society. Wearing the name of the Sinning Flynns, the two younger sons, Rory and Aidan, find themselves looking for brides, at the Stag Ball, hosted by their grandfather, the Duke of Savernake himself.

In The Sin Commandments by Kathryn Le Veque, Rory Flynn feels that he must seek revenge for the treatment that his mother and family faced. His decision is to compromise the daughter of the Earl of Exford, the man who has spun horrid tales since he was jilted. Yet when Rory meets Lady Edith “Edie” Rissington, he finds himself desperate to find a way to make himself the man that her family needs to him to be, if he is to restore her good name.

In One Magic Night by Alexa Aston, Aidan Flynn has been given an ultimatum by his grandfather. He can inherit Larkhaven, one of the unentailed estates as long as Aidan marries within two weeks. When he meets Lady Larissa Warren, he realises that in order for them to wed, he must convince her that he is nothing like his brothers. With Larissa facing marriage to the ancient Lord Langdon, Aidan has only a short amount of time, to make their future together, possible.
These were two very enjoyable novellas, with both Aidan and Flynn, quite different in personalities but still similar in their desire to do all that they could to win over their future brides. Whilst I liked the two brothers and loved their grandfather, the Duke of Savernake, I struggled with the character of Larissa, who seemed at times, conflicting in her desires. At one point, she is desperate to marry and escape her father, and then she next rejects Aidan for being scandalous. Edie wore her heart of her sleeve, which I liked, and found endearing. The authors have packed considerable detail into two entertaining novellas.

Cornish smuggler Sean Flynn, descended from an Irish pirate, was granted an earldom and lands in Cornwall. Sean finds his mate in Lady Amy, the Duke of Savernake’s only daughter, who jilts her betrothed for the handsome and wealthy Earl of Sinbrook. The couple have four sinfully handsome sons. The two eldest sons follow in their father’s footsteps in the thriving smuggling industry, which eventually becomes a legitimate shipping business. They make their fortunes and find proper English brides. But the younger sons, Rory and Aidan, want to be their own men and are determined to find their mates their way.

One Magic Night by Alexa Aston
Aidan Flynn isn’t a rogue, instead modelling himself after his grandfather Doo, the Duke of Savernake, who will leave Larkhaven to Aidan—if he weds in the next two weeks. Lady Larissa Warren’s amoral family has prevented her from making a suitable match. Now, her father has told her to find a husband at tonight’s annual Savernake Stag Ball—or she must wed the ancient four times widowed Lord Langdon. Aidan decides Larissa is the one, but she has no interest in marrying an infamous Sinning Flynn.
A very well written emotional read. I loved Aidan & Larissa who had both been given ultimatums for very different reasons, Their attraction was instantaneous but both came from less than upstanding backgrounds. I just loved it & devoured it in a sitting

The Sin Commandments by Kathryn Le Veque
Rory Flynn is determined to seek revenge on, the Earl of Exford who’s never forgiven Lady Sinbrook for jilting him for Sean Flynn. Knowing the earl and his daughter will be at the Stag Ball, Rory is determined to compromise the daughter to punish the earl. But what he didn’t count on was a chance encounter with a sweet, beautiful woman who pulls him off his quest. As he goes in pursuit of Lady Edith “Edie” Rissington, Rory finds himself entrenched in a world where her secrets are darker than his own, and sins are something that can never be forgiven.
Wonderful characters & a story that flows effortlessly, of course it is instant attraction & pretty much instant love. A lovely novella
Two brilliant novellas my only quibble I didn’t want them to end
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

One Magic Night – Alexa Aston

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and felt it had a little of a Cinderella vibe but not as a clean romance,. There was plenty of steamy moments which I loved!

Aidan, the youngest son of the Sinning Flynn family was unlike his three brothers, he was more like his mother and grandfather (Doo), the Duke of Savernake. He had spent all of his Summer together with the Duke from a young age. Visiting Doo on the eve of the annual Stag Ball, his Grandfather told him he was dying but that he would be leaving Larkhaven to him on his death but the only stipulation was that he had to find a wife at the ball and be married within two weeks so that he could see his beloved grandson married before he died!

Lady Larissa Warren had grown up with a father who avoided her and only had time for her brother or his mistresses and a mother who lived her own life with her paramours. The year before she was introduced to the Viscount Silverton and realised why her father had treated her the way he had, it was because the Viscount was her real father. The Earl had told Lady Larissa that she needed to find a husband at the Stag Ball otherwise he would marry her off to someone of his choice.

The passion and attraction for each other flowed through the story perfectly. I loved how the secondary characters of the Duke and Larissa’s real father supported them both along the way which brought about their HEA quite beautifully. Another amazing story from Alexa. Perfect for any fan of steamy historical romance.

The Sin Commandments – Kathryn Le Veque

Rory Flynn is the worst rogue of the Flynn family and being a third son had made his own personal fortune smuggling which ran in the family as well as gambling and owning gambling halls. He was on a mission for revenge which he had waited years for. The man his mother should have married but left when she fell in love with his father. The Earl of Exford was that man and he had since all their lives a misery, mostly his mothers and he would do anything for love of his family.

The Earl’s daughters were coming out this season and had been invited to his Grandfather, the Duke of Savernake annual Stag Ball. He was going to seek his revenge by seducing one of his daughters. Nothing anyone could say would change what he was about to do until he met and saved a young lady in one of his Grandfathers garden, Lady Edie Rissington.

Lady Edie was meeting the married man she thought she loved, he had said he wanted to meet her in the garden and she was hoping it was to tell her he was about to divorce his wife for her which he promised only to have her dreams shattered when he proposed to make her his mistress. In steps Rory who saved her from a huge scandal. Rory on meeting Edie knew there was something different about her which stirred his feelings. All thought of revenge for the Earl’s daughters left his mind as they were all for Edie.

A lovely clean historical romance showing Rory who was a scoundrel become a man and the person he was meant to be when meeting Edie. He had a new purpose in life and although he did get his revenge, it was not at the expense of innocent any ladies. Edie realising that what she thought was love, was a poor imitation to when she really did fall in love completely with Rory.

One Magic Night by Alexa Aston and The Sin Commandments by Kathryn Le Veque - These were well-written, entertaining Regency romance novellas. The stories were intertwined around two brothers seeking brides during the annual Stag Ball hosted by their grandfather, the Duke of Savernake. They held my interest and kept me reading. I enjoyed these novellas and would read other books by these authors.

Two Delightful ‘Love at First Sight’ Novellas
One Magic Night by Alexa Aston - One night to get betrothed to a stranger and hopefully find love. With the requirement to get married quickly, a love match was unlikely (and therefore rather far fetched) but I did love both the characters. A pleasant read.
The Sin Commandments by Kathryn Le Veque - Rory has always gone his own way without any thought or regard to others. He is a man with little or no morals, totally focused on revenge, until an unexpected contretemps leads him to rescue a lady. A lady who fascinates him as no woman ever has before.
