A young woman takes a job as a house sitter in France, living free in luxurious houses, stealing produce for the local farmers and scheming to earn money to live on. She has no scruples and will stop at nothing to insure that she doesn’t get caught.
In England Katherine’s husband has died in a car accident and it’s not long before his family find out that he had many secrets that he has been keeping from them.
A story with lots of twist and turns that keeps you guessing until the end.
Impossible to put down, I read this in on sitting.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

I found The House Sitter to be a gripping, fast paced thriller that I found impossible to put down. From the synopsis of the book I was really looking forward to reading it and it certainly did lot let me down. There are two stories running throughout the book with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I can highly recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books UK and the author for the chance to review.

Excellent storyline and plot. The writing is not too bad though I did find some of the parts somewhat draggy, making me jump big chunks. The ending was totally unexpected for me. I think I am now getting an inkling what elements keep me engrossed in a book. We shall see.

Wow, what a great book!! A real roller coaster of a story with twists and turns that really get you thinking. A book about family, the lack of love, betrayal blackmail, murder - this has it all. Well written characters even if the plot is sometimes a little far fetched. A great holiday read.

A suspenseful novel with two storylines. In one, a mysterious, dangerous house sitter travels around luxury European vacation destinations. In the other, a woman suffers the loss of her husband in a car accident only to realize he was not who she thought he was. I was interested in both storylines and especially in how they were tied together. Read this quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is another clever and easy to read mystery from this author. . Lots of red herrings and a dual timeline to keep it interesting. Just goes to prove that we all have secrets and no one is ever totally honest. Much prefer her mystery/crime to her more romantic books.

Wow, this book grabbed me from the very first page. This had two different stories running through it but, it was so well set out that it wasn’t confusing. I loved the way the story unfolded and kept you guessing, although I did guess what was going to happen but, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment at all. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Um yes loved this book. It kept my interest pretty much the whole time. I loved the whole concept of the book I thought it was pretty interesting a real who dune it kind of mystery I kept going back and forth who it could of been . The only thing I didn't care for was the way the chapters were set up in the middle of the page and not starting on a new page but that's a me thing but overall it was great mystery thriller that I enjoyed ans didn't want to put down . Thank you to net galley for giving me a kindle version of the book early.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I know everyone gave this such high reviews. But I struggled to get through it. Trying to put all the story lines in together was a bit much.
This just wasn’t really my cup of tea.

This is a book that you cannot put down. I found the storyline and mystery to be quite engaging. At no point do you feel like pausing the book as the action moves through the pages.

The book is told from the perspective of multiple narrators. There is also a flashback which is equally interesting. The way the stories come together is brilliant. The characters are equally fleshed out and suspicious and I was quite invested into reading about them. The end was quite good and I loved the twists! Would be totally in for a sequel since this leave scope for one.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books UK for an ARC in exchange of my honest review.

Oliver is killed in a car accident and his wife Katherine is devastated. With detectives on the case, she learns a lot about her husband that she never knew. There is also another story here about a young girl that goes by different names through the years. She is a house sitter and not a very good one!! How do these stories come together? You have to read to find out.

I was quite invested in the story and read this in a days time. I really thought Debbie Howells was clever on how she brought these stories together in the end. I've read several of her books and I have never been disappointed! I recommend this one to keep you entertained for a day or two!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for my ARC.

A young woman travels around Europe working as a house sitter in empty villas, with the real intention of stealing from the rich and killing anyone in the way...

Kat's husband Oliver is killed in a car crash, but as she mourns his loss she begins to discover things she never knew about him... Out of all the people who were in Oliver's life, who is hiding secrets so bad they'd kill to keep them hidden...?

Another brilliant book by Debbie Howells, I loved how we had the chapters about the house sitter and wondered how this fitted in with the rest of the story. Great plot with fantastic twists. Loved it!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

This book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review. Thanks to the publisher. This book of mystery and intrigue is character driven...some likable...some not so much...a mystery from page one...although this author is talented and gifted at writing a book that keeps the reader guessing, with several red herrings, it is almost like reading two books...the main character losing her husband...and the other character, who moves from house to house. Secrets…the ending astonishing…

A Merry Dance…
Two distinct threads emerge and blend in this tension fuelled suspense. One a traveller, house sitting across glamorous European locations, but not everything is as it seems. The other a grieving widow with shocks in store. With a credible and well crafted cast of characters, an edgy narrative with a vein of underlying menace and a plot peppered with red herrings this is both compelling and immersive, leading the reader a merry dance.
