Put the word house in the title of the book and I'll grab it right away and read it! After reading The House Sitter, you'll not only wish you'd never heard of this term, but you'll also start to doubt your own house guests or even family members. ;)

The book takes place in two timelines, we follow a young woman who tries to find her place under the sun and her own identity by becoming a house sitter in various luxury holiday destinations in Europe, while at the same time no obstacle stops her on the way to her goal.

The book also follows the life of a therapist who, after the death of her husband, realizes that her husband had a double life. Soon, relations with his primary family also begin to get complicated.

We all choose the face we want to present to the world. Everyone is hiding something and it's only a matter of time before it all comes out.

An extremely suspenseful novel that you won't be able to put down. I enjoyed it immensely.

On seeing gthe title, it ded remind of a dozen other books I've read but this is absolutely worlds apart from all of them. It was so captivating and kept me engaged from the start. It was so creepy and really makes you skin tingle. I just loved every second and flew through it in a day/night. A must read!!

The House Sitter by Debbie Howells is my second read from this author, and I can say without a doubt that she has now become firmly established on my radar.

Kat's husband Oliver has died in a car crash, leaving behind a mystery that will have Kat wondering just how well she ever really knew her husband. Across Europe, a young woman poses as a house sitter who will stop at nothing, even murder, to get what she wants. Just how the two narratives merge is a question that will have you flying through the pages in a desperate bid for answers.

This is an intriguing and brilliantly plotted read, and I will be seeking out more from the talented Ms Howells.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for an ARC.

This is a one day, cover to cover read. The House Sitter is well written and fast paced. The chapters fly. The descriptions of the holiday homes and destinations will have you wanting to plan a trip to Europe. If you own a holiday home, you’ll never arrange for a house sitter after reading this book. Well worth the read.
Thank You to Avon Books UK, NetGalley, and Debbie Howells for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC.
