The Challenge is written by Danielle Steel. This book is set in Fishtail, Montana. We see 5 friends who enjoy hanging out - get caught up in a scary situation. This book is all about love, friendships, living life up the fullest. There was a bit more sex in this story then what I am used to by this author.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley - for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

This is about 5 young people who live in Montana and decide to go into the woods exploring. It's pretty predictable what happens, but the second part of the book deals with the aftermath of their exploring. Danielle Steels books are always a quick read and enjoyable. Been a fan for a long time and look forward to when her net one comes out. Thank you net galley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

⛰️🚁Book Review:
Title: The Challenge
Author: Danielle Steel
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/3 stars

A group of teenagers/children from Fishtail, Montana, go missing while out on an adventurous hike. They end up trapped on Granite Peak for three days until they are rescued. These seven kids are from a total of five different families. Thankfully, they are safe and not too hurt. After the children return, each family struggles with their own trials and tribulations. They are dealing with the media frenzy, devastating secrets exposed and betrayal.

I chose the audiobook for this one. I'm glad I chose this verus actually physically reading it because it became so slow and boring. It had a lot of potential in the first half, but once the children returned, it was hard not to lose interest. I usually really enjoy this authors books but not so much this one. Bummer! I really hoped this would be a great thriller like it was listed, but it really wasn't that genre at all.

Thank you, @netgalley and @randomhouse #randomhousepublishing for this ARC in exchange for my review.

I love Danielle Steel, and most of the time devour her books. I loved the rescue part of this book, but the rest was a bit confusing. I think there were just too many characters to keep track of. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone, but it was an okay read.

I liked the section of the book that dealt with the children getting lost and rescued but then the rest of the story had too much repetition and was very predictable. Way too many characters in this story to keep my interest. Not one of my favorites by this author.

I love Danielle Steel books and this one did not disappoint. The story is fast paced, at times a little too much. I think that more focus could have been made on the kids getting lost in the mountains rather than the life after. The second half of the book explores the aftermath and was a typical love story with drama and cheating. The ending also seemed a bit rushed to me with too many neat bows.

Thanks to Random House and NetGalley for the eARC.

This book was good. As a parent the idea of dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic situation for my child it was hard to read at times. Not because the book had any issues, but because I cannot imagine being in the situation. Danielle Steel is a solid read.

Story takes place in Montana. Juliet Marshall is visiting her father from her home in New York. She is adjusting well and making friends with the local kids. They have daily fun in the way that only ranch families can in the summer.
I enjoyed the book.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC and to the publisher Delacorte Press.

The Challenge was not your typical Danielle Steel book in regards to content, characters, and storyline, but it is still just as comfortable, intriguing, and talented as all of her others. I personally enjoy reading about teens and children and I welcomed and embraced the characters and real life scenarios she writes about in this. This author has a way of creating characters in such a way that you quickly get a feel for their true personalities and are quickly engrossed in their lives and are eager to see what will happen next. The characters in this book are very realistic and all are unique from one another. The relationships between them is fascinating and I appreciated the talent shown by the author to be able to expose each aspect and coax its progression throughout. I can see this turn into a movie or series and I bet it would be popular like Ozark or Outer Banks. So much is left unanswered and it would be a perfect way to continue their lives and to find out more.

This is a great book. You will never want to put it down. It is a story in Montana, about 7 kids. The kids get stranded on a mountain, that has flash floods on one side and on the other side a forest fire. They are stranded for three days on the mountain. The book tells what happens during the kids being stranded and how it affects all of their families too.

I absolutely loved The Challenge!!!
I'm not a fan of including the synopsis in a review - because, you can just scroll up and see a much more detailed and accurate description than anything that I could write. I'm going to preface this review by saying that I'm a huge Danielle Steel fan!!!
I loved The Challenge - yes I realize "happy endings" are trite and throwing some kids into a dangerous situation is a "hook" - but I'll eat these kind of books up all day long!!! I really enjoyed the characters in this tale - especially the children - it's nice to get a different perspective and to SEE each of their personalities and what makes each of them tick - and the strengths that they added to the story.
I received a digital copy of The Challenge from Netgalley in exchange for an honest opinion

I had a love-hate relationship with this book. I loved the fast pace nature of the story. However, I hated the predictability of the plotline. Overall, it was an okay book that I would recommend if you are between books and need a quick read.
