In Texas near the border there has been a series of horrific and unspeakable deaths that has left the responding border agent a mental and emotional mess while unable to tell the authorities what happened or what he witnessed at this crime scene. When the FBI is called in they contact the VPA (Violent Paranormal Activity) division which handles any unusual or supposedly supernatural events when the regular law enforcement aren't able to have an explanation for the suspicious cause or manner of death of any individual. Chimalis Burton is one of the top agents in this division and has a good record of either debunking supernatural causes and solving the cases or she has the means of tracking the suspects and putting an end to their unnatural trail of scathing, heartless murder sprees. When Chimalis arrives in Texas to observe the murder scene she realizes that whatever is behind these murders is something she has never come across before and before she gets the chance to really study and investigate this case another call comes in about more murders with similar traits of the same suspect which if not human then what kind of monster is responsible and how many more must die before Chimalis can figure out what she is dealing with and will she survive an encounter with this unknown species.

I more than enjoyed this horror story. It was a stand-alone but I found it was also part of a series so I definitely plan on reading many of the books written by "Robert E. Waters". The book reminded me somewhat of the X-Files except being on steroids. The story was filled with great fun and entertainment while still being dark and loaded with suspense.
Chimalis was a fascinating character and I hope to find her in more of the books in the series. This was a novella but again I thought it was the perfect length so there wasn't a dull moment. For any one who loves books about cryptids and creature features this would be a terrific book to add to your reading lists.

I want to thank the publisher " eSpec Books, NeoParadoxa" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this fantastic
novella and any thoughts or opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

I have given this books rating of 4 1/2 SURREALISTIC, CRYPTOGRAPHIC 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠 STARS!!

Another good read in this series. These are always interesting, with great characters, pacing, and story. Introduction to many cryptids, and can't wait for the next in the series. #EyesoftheWolf #NetGalley

There are creatures subject to myth that most people to not believe in. Cryptids must be seen to believed.. Two brothers in Central America promise to help an old magician and he feeds them and gives them a place to spend the night. The boys break their promise and he curses them, turning them into wolves with goat feet.
