I love Ms. Lancaster's books and this was as enjoyable as the previous books! Josephine and Calton join forces to find the father of her sister's baby when Calton swears he has never met nor fathered her sisters baby. Thus begins a hilarious romp. So good I couldn't put it down.
Thank you Mary Lancaster, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

First off let me say the cover is really nice. That sexy vision of a man, laying on the bed...looking all arrogant and what not...WOOO WEEE..had me alllll excited for what I expected to be one HOT and helluva story.

And well... 🤷🏾‍♀️...Eh...it wasn't bad...it wasn't great...it just...was. It was entertaining enough although I found myself skimming some of the pages. I liked most of the characters...especially our two MCs...it's just that the storyline was not that exciting to me. I had high hopes for it because the opening two chapters were really engaging. I was falling in love with Chalton..who continued to win me over throughout the book.

The premise was simple, there are two sisters wholove each other dearly, one who finds herself pregnant and about to be ruined. Unwilling to see this happen, the other, younger sister sets out to force the scoundrel who did the deed to marry her...setting the stage for one misunderstanding after the other.

It was a fairly quick read with a couple of laughs. It was a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours, but not a book to make me sing from the rafters. But hey... different strokes and all that...so you may LOVE IT.

Ridiculous, hilarious and so worth the read! This book had me up all night reading and laughing. There were some moments in the book that were so unrealistic and ridiculous but it didn't take away my enjoyment. I look forward to reading more by this author!

Curiosity was ever my besetting sin.

A fun and mysterious romantic tale with engaging characters.

This is a fast read, and an enjoyable one. I especially liked the hero and was eager for the chapters from his POV. Watching Josephine learn to love Calton, and seeing them uncover the mystery together, made the book great. I'll definitely check out other books in this series; however this was my first book from this series and it did not affect my following the plot at all. Highly recommend for those looking for a slow burn!

Tropes: Enemies to lovers, slow burn

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Debauchery and the Earl by Mary Lancaster is the fourth and final book of the Gentlemen of Pleasure series. The infamously rakish Earl of Calton has been named as the father of Josephine’s sister’s unborn child. When a masked beauty holds him at gunpoint and orders him to marry her sister, he is astonished. He swears he is not the father. Calton and Josephine form a sort of alliance to figure out who exactly the father is to save her sister from ruin. Along the way, Calton and Josephine develop strong feelings for each other.

This book starts out with a bang. Well, almost. Josephine quickly realizes that Calton cannot be the father, so she doesn’t shoot him. This book definitely brings the mystery and romance together for a quick read!

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and this is my freely given opinion.

The bored and weary Earl of Calton finds himself at gun point when the mysterious woman he brings back to his hotel room, from a masked ball, holds him up and demands he marries her sister, whom he is accused of impregnating. Josephine, though acting pretty rashly, is a pretty likeable character for her loyalty to her sister, and her bold intrepidness.

Needless to say, this piques his interest and he finds himself intrigued by the miss, enough to find out who she is and enmesh himself in her family drama.

Josephine and her sister Penelope are the two daughters of a British diplomat, who have travelled with their father throughout Europe, and have just returned to England and recently introduced to Society. Penelope is pregnant, and when pushed by her sister Josephine, states the father is the Earl, never thinking her sister would rashly try to pursue the Earl to make him take responsibility. She lied to hide the real identity of the father.

The focus of this short novella is the developing relationship between Josephine and Calton, with a secondary love story between Penelope and the father of her child. There is also a further suspense/drama with two villains working against the two MCs, including someone from Calton's rakish past.

This was a nice, steamy novella, where the so called unrepentent rake turns out to be a man who believes in honour, love, and family after all.

I love this book!!! The characters were great and the story was engaging from the very beginning. My only wish is that it was a little longer! There's a moment towards the end where a character is explaining a realization that they had, and I wanted to see them have that realization, and dive a little deeper on what it was that led them to it. It was a beautiful story, and I had so much fun reading it. This was my first book by Lancaster, and I'm on my way to read all the others!

This is Book four of the Gentlemen of Pleasure series. I have read almost all the books so far and have been enjoying the series. This latest addition also did not disappoint. Carlton and Joesphine meet in a rather unconventional way. Josephine holds him at gunpoint demanding he marry her sister. You see, he is a well-known rake, and Josephine's sister names him as the baby's father. Carlton doesn't know what to do with this, because he in fact has never met Josephine or her sister before. Josephine's sister remains quite stubborn and will not reveal the father, so Carlton and Josephine then work together to solve the mystery of who the father of her sister's baby could be.
Carlton, can't explain it, but he is quite drawn to Josephine and the more time he spends in her company the more he loses his heart to her. Josephine is equally drawn to him, and the love that begins to blossom between them was sweet yet passionate.
This was a an amazingly romantic and intriguing story and I really enjoyed it. It was an entertaining, fun, and steamy read. The characters were likable and I enjoyed their witty banter. An enjoyable story and I look forward to continuing the series. I received a complimentary copy from Dragonblade Publishing via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This was a quick and fun read from new to me author Mary Lancaster. I haven't read any of the prior books in this series but I didn't feel lost; it is a true standalone. Josephine's sister names notorious rake Earl of Calton as the father of her baby. Josephine takes matters in her own hands, points a pistol at Calton, and demands he marry her sister. But Calton has never heard of her sister. He is, however, intrigued by and attracted to Josephine, which is why he agrees to help her figure out who has actually fathered her sister's child.

I liked this book a lot. Calton and Josephine work well as a couple and watching them fall in love is borderline adorable. It was fairly obvious who really fathered the sister's child, and there is a wonderful confrontation between said father and Josephine. The villain and villainess are easily dispatched and help Calton and Josephine fall even more in love.

My biggest issue with this book is that I could not stop calling Calton, Carlton. Even writing this review, I had to go back and correct myself several times.

4 stars. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

An Entertaining Tale

Josephine just might reform that rake, but their beginning was not promising. She started by pointing a pistol at him. Her sister told her that Calton was the father of her child. However, Calton knew that was quite impossible. Before that night, he had never laid eyes on Josephine or her sister. Calton might have been a rake, but he was a rake with a heart. He was determined to help Josephine find out who the actual father was. A bit of mischief and mayhem ensued, and we got two romances in one. This is an entertaining story with some villains and some heroes. It put a smile on my face.

The Earl of Calton is an infamous rake that got Josephine's sister pregnant. When Josephine goes to question the Earl regarding his responsibilities, things aren't actually as they seemed.

Heartwarming and witty romance that will delight lovers of the genre!

The Earl of Calton is asked to dance by an unknown young lady at a masked ball. After the dance, Calton suddenly finds himself at gunpoint as the young lady demands he marry her sister. Calton has no clue who either sister could be, which makes for a very interesting beginning to this story.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Calton and Josephine. Josephine was bold and committed to helping her sister, Helena. Loved the circumstances when Calton returned the bullet to Josephine.
The mystery Calton and Josephine must solve is "who is really the father of Helena's baby?"

While the title (and even the cover) suggests drunken, naked parties, there is actually very little of this. There are some tasteful veiled intimate scenes and some drama about a hidden pregnancy but nothing outright. I did like the gumption of Josephine when she goes to confront Calton about his supposed dalliance with her sister, Helene. Calton was actually a sweetheart despite his rakish past. The “I love you” revelation was pretty quick and sudden. This is a quick fun read but nothing outstanding.

Calton and Josephine waltz and then he walks her to his rooms after the masquerade. Josephine confronts The Earl of Calton at gunpoint when her sister names him, as the father of her unborn child. He has no idea who either Josephine or her sister are.
He agrees to work with Josephine to find out who the father really is. The chemistry between the main characters is wonderful and there are several interesting side stories between
I would have loved more details about Calton's relationship with his younger brother and a bit more about Josephine's past as well.

The fourt in Gentlemen of Pleasure series does not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoy when a book grips you right from the start and takes you on a sigh worthy journey as in Debauchery and the Earl. Mary Lancaster has written a story filled with remarkable emotions, unforgettable characters that are well thought out and each and everyone comes across clearly as their individual personalities become more than just part of the tale and a strong plot. With setting descriptions and action sequences are wonderfully vivid which brings this read together perfectly and will keep you reading to the end.

This book was beautiful in its simplicity, i loved the characters and the storyline was really nice and engaging.
My problem with is that it wasn't memorable, it's the kind of book to give you momentary happiness and then go forgotten.

When a masked woman holds a gun to you demanding you marry her sister, there is not telling what will happen! An entertaining start to a romance with a little suspense and intrigue thrown in!

Carlton cannot believe it when Josephine mistakes him for the father of her sister's baby, when he has no idea who either of them are... Although known as a rake, his true personality comes out as he works with her to find out the truth.

A great addition to this series that will keep you smiling until the end!

Debauchery and the Earl- look at that yum yum on the cover, he’s just waiting to debauch us all and by all means, sir debauch away. I have to say though, this cover had me expecting a book full of smut and depravity. Hell, there was even a warning that this was a “scorching-hot” read. Sadly, it was only really medium warm.

Earl of Calton (which I spent the entire book reading as “Carlton”) is a bored, rich slut. I can totes relate. He meets Josephine at a party and she seduces him in order to get him alone where she holds him at gunpoint bc she thinks that he is her sister’s babydaddy and wants him to marry her. As it turns out, fertile myrtle who had sex once and got prego as they all do in the 1800s, was lying about Calton being the father. Calton decides to take it upon himself to figure out who the real daddy is and Josephine helps. Jo then falls in love with Calton immediately bc as we can see on the cover, he’s sex on legs. Calton falls fast too and wastes no time giving Jo her first O in under like 2 minutes. Virgins of the 1800s- fertile and easily brought to completion. What was their secret? Like a less trashy episode of Maury Povich Show, Calton and Jo figure out the identity of the mysterious impregnator and they all love happily ever after- married and devirginized.

Overall, this was a very quick and entertaining read. While everyone seemed to be either getting laid or suffering the consequences of getting laid, most of the was off page or not heavily graphic. Would recommend for anyone who likes their historical romance with less descriptive sex scenes.

Thanks to @netgalley , @dragonbladepublishing for this ARC- the book is now available to read free on Kindle Unlimited or where you buy your fave romance books.

Although laced with some plotting and intrigue, this is nevertheless a heartwarming and witty romance. Calton has carefully nurtured his reputation as a rake, having vowed never to marry after the death of his brother. However, he is suffering from a severe bout of ennui and has plans to remove himself to the Continent, with the hopes of reviving his spirits. When a young woman invites him to dance with her at the Maida Pleasure Gardens, his interest is piqued, but when she pulls a gun on him, he is definitely no longer bored. Josephine quickly realizes that she has made an error of judgment. Instead of the rake she had heard about, she discovers in Calton a gentleman who is not only chivalrous but also compassionate and kind. Calton takes it upon himself to help Josephine find the father of her sister's child and in the process discovers feelings for Josephine that take him by surprise. I enjoyed this lighthearted and entertaining novel, which although part of a series is a standalone and comes to a sweet conclusion. I received a copy of this novel through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
