Thief of Fate is a nice wrap up to the Providence Falls series. This series is a touching love story between two souls who meet at different lifetimes. However, one must prove himself to the angels so he can live happily for eternity. There is a connection between the two characters and the sub characters are comical, but the story is a bit flat.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with this advance copy.

I just want to say that I’m a huge fan of Jude Deveraux. Normally her books are a 5⭐️ for me. I enjoyed the beginning of this series but couldn’t get into the final installment☹️.

Liam O’Connor wasn’t supposed to fall in love with Cora McLeod. She was already destined for another-Finley Walsh. His decision changed history and now he’s been given a chance to fix his mistake in just 3 months.

The love triangle is prevalent as they investigate a murder case. Finn loves Cora but she loves Liam and he has no choice but to deny his feelings for her and push her away. The consequences could be dire! Will he be able to do it?

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 3 in the Providence Falls series. Angels must correct the course of history when Liam stole Cora from her destined husband Finley in 1844. Now the three are investigating a murder and Liam must get Finley and Cora back together so their future child can save the world. I have not read the previous books in the series and I think I might have enjoyed the story better with some previous background. A nicely written fantasy that people will enjoy.

My mind churned with apprehension as I plowed through this last book. I couldn’t work out how the fates would play, but I just knew Deveraux would make it all turn out. Admittedly, however I had some doubts because the narrative teased and taunted me as I read.
I almost melted when Liam says several things. They were like lines straight out of a movie script. What woman wouldn’t want to hear those words and sentiments??
It all worked out behind my expectations, although I do think Finn got shafted.
It’s a befitting conclusion to a whirlwind trilogy.

Jude Deveraux returns to Providence Falls in the conclusion to a trilogy of redemption for Liam O'Connor who has been placed back on earth to ensure that Finley Walsh finds true love with Cora. Liam had stolen her heart from Finley in Ireland in the past.. The angels are watching from the heavens. Cora and Liam are in the police but their town has corruption, murder and crime. Nothing is as it seems. Read Thief of Fate for the thrilling conclusion.

Sometimes the hardest thing we have to do for the ones we love is let them go…

At least that’s what Liam O’Connor is trying to do. Liam knows that the fate of the universe depends on Liam’s love, Cora, ending up with Finn, but he just can’t seem to let her go. Under orders from the angels, Liam dutifully tries to push Cora and Finn together, but the more he tries to force it, the more Cora longs to be with Liam.

I like how the author shows the reader Liam’s inner turmoil over trying to do the right thing. He knows that he has to let Cora go, but he’s torn. Even though he wants Cora to be happy, he wants her to be happy with him. Throughout this book you really understand Liam’s dilemma and why this is so difficult for him. It’s remarkable how much he grows as a character between the beginning and the end of the book.

I also think that the writing is very expressive and precise. There are many word choices used in this book that serve as a subtle reminder as to who is in charge of Liam and Cora’s fate and why it matters. Clearly, there was great care taken in the words and phrases chosen for this book, and I like that it always reflected back to the theme of the story.

Thief of Fate will leave you feeling satisfied, reflective, and curious about what fate just might have in store for you.

.I loved this book and devoured it in a day. I really felt for Liam as he’s always loved Cora. But he needs to let her go, to let her fall in love with Finn. I actually cried so hard for them. But Finn is such a good guy. They all go after some really bad guys and I loved how the story ties in with the past. It’s a very original story. There’s a happy ever after but I can’t tell you who Cora ends up with. I can’t wait to read the next book. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Angels and a love triangle.

Just go with it. Liam has been selfish, for a very long time. In order to make amends he must push Cora to Finn.
This book wasn't what I was expecting. There are angels, eternal damnation, a love triangle, and a murder mystery.
Jude and Tara do a good job with combining the random elements and making an interesting read.
4.5

Thief of Fate by Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets is a beautifully written story. I had not read the other two books in the series and I still loved this one. It reminded me of a classic Jude Deveraux where the character are destined to be together, like soulmates.

Liam in an effort to save the world is trying to get Cora to fall in love with Finn. Finn is a great guy but Cora is drawn to Liam. Cora finally figures out that Liam feels the chemistry between them too. They are both police officers working a murder case. The villain is obvious, but it was still a great story.

I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of swoon worthy romance. This is a story I will re-read.

Sexual content - I just remember one physical scene with very few details. The romance is swoon worthy but not much physical in the book.
Violence - they are working a murder mystery so there are some deaths
Drinking - there is a scene where she drinks to much wine.
Language - only a handful uses of the word D@mn

Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets brings us the end of the Providence Falls series with the story of Liam and his quest. He was never supposed to end up with Cora all those centuries ago. Cora was supposed to be with Finley. Because of his interference, the fates of history has been changed. Liam has three weeks to right his wrongs. With all three working together to solve a case in this lifetime, will Liam be successful in bringing Finn and Cora together, or is he doomed to repeat the same mistake again?

Ms. Deveraux and Ms. Sheets brings us the conclusion to this series with Liam trying to correct the wrongs from centuries past. As we maneuver through the myriad of feelings from all three characters, whose love will be returned fully? We get to go with these three as they are on the hunt for a killer and what happens as they get closer to their prey. Between Liam trying to get Cora and Finn together and their quest to solve a case, you keep turning the page to see what happens next. Before you know it, you have reached the end of the story and the series and want to keep reading about their lives. I look forward to reading more from these authors.

I received and read an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA for this privilege.

This book has a little bit of everything. Murder, romance, time travel and angels. I felt the book dragged a little as Liam went through so much turmoil. It says that this is the conclusion to the series but the ending left me thinking there will be at least another book.
