In his book The World of the End, Dr. David Jeremiah focuses on the promises that God has made to us. Instead of focusing on this world’s problems, Dr. Jeremiah shows us through the Bible what Jesus promised us and what He expects from us. I voluntarily read and reviewed this complimentary copy of this well-written, hopeful book that I will refer to often on my own spiritual journey.

The World of the End
How Jesus' Prophecy Shapes Our Priorities

Thomas Nelson and Netgalley sent me a copy of The World of the End to review:

We need hope now more than ever in a world that seems out of control. Wouldn't it be great if the Bible provided the hope you needed?

Our world is filled with lies and distrust. Wars and rumors of war. Chaos and devastation. Pressure and persecution. A lawless, loveless world. Every day seems to bring bad news. With bad news comes questions: "Why?" What can be done? What can we do?" And perhaps most importantly: "Is this it?"

David Jeremiah, bestselling author, pastor, and respected Bible teacher, points us to God's hand rather than the problems at hand. When Jesus delivered His Olivet Discourse, scholars have called it "the most important prophecy passage in the Bible."

The World of the End teaches you:
Even in difficult times, we can live victoriously according to the Bible

Besides calling Christians to a higher standard, Jesus equips us with the tools and strength we need to confidently follow him

In the gospels, you can trust that God is in control and that his plan is still on track

As we approach the End of the World, Dr. Jeremiah reveals exactly what Jesus promised us and what He expects of us.

I give The world of the End four out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

"What will the world of the end look like" some ask, some wonder, and some just want to know what to do. David Jeremiah walks us through Jesus's words in the beginning of the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24:1-14, to the signs of the end of times and signs of Jesus coming back. David Jeremiah walks us through what prophecy is, why it's important to know, what it says, and then goes into this passage, explaining each of the items and shows us the way forward in explaining what the world will be, (in a world of deception, be honest/ In a world of war, be calm/ in a world of disasters, be confident - these are examples and chapter titles within the book), and how we are to be within this world, and how we can then move forward with hope and even gives us scripture at the end of each chapter that helps us be honest, calm, confident, etc. Very easy to read without being overly scholarly and yet it's still very deep and informative. Highly recommend this.

Dr. David Jeremiah does it again with another great book and guide as to how Christians should be living in today’s world. Using the Olivet Discourse as a framework, we not only better understand what’s ahead, but learn how to face an uncertain future with confidence and hope. He tells us we’re not to be frightened, but faithful as we look forward to Christ’s return. This is one book that I plan to keep near and go back and review periodically in order to maintain a godly perspective in today’s trying times.

I really liked this book. It is well written and has a message that resounded with me. It reminded me of my youth when I heard about God and the hope and trust having faith in Jesus would require. This book gave me a more level view of the future and what can be done and what cant. I really liked this book. If you are worried about the times we live in then this book will give you faith and hope. It is excellent!

In The World of the End, Dr. Jeremiah studies the signs of the end times through the lens of teachings from Jesus Himself. Using the beginning of the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24:1-14 as the framework for the book, He takes us to the whole of scripture to show that while it is not the end of the world yet (although it is very near), we are in “the world of the end” as time is quickly counting down to the imminent rapture of the church and the tribulation age. The signs in Matthew 24 are playing out today in our world exactly as the Bible said they would.

Biblical prophecy is a topic that many Christians shy away from because it can feel heavy and hard to understand. But Dr. Jeremiah presents the topic in an engaging way that is both sobering yet very encouraging and full of hope. As we see our world at large and our culture in particular spinning further out of control every day, we should not be surprised or downhearted. There is much cause for confidence as we witness prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. And there is a challenge for us as believers to not give up or give in, but to positively and lovingly influence those around us with the gospel and be faithful until the very end.

I recommend this book to anyone, Christian or otherwise, who want to be prepared for what is coming, be equipped to encounter what is already happening, and, most importantly, be ready to follow and endure to receive the rewards in eternity.

The World of the End

Dr. Jeremiah has once again written an incredible book about prophecy and the coming end times. This book is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about the troubles the world faces. Prophecy is such a big part of the Christian faith, yet many people skip over it completely. Dr. Jeremiah explains it all in a very easy to understand manner. I love his books. I am definitely going to buy multiple copies of this book to pass on to friends and family.

This book is very timely and relevant to what Christians need to be doing as in the End Times approach. Whether it is very soon or years from now, this book takes the prophetic words of Jesus and helps you understand and process our world. I thought the format was great. Each chapter gave the reader a directive and at the end the author offered scriptures for encouragement and exhortation. Throughout the book are personal stories from unknown and famous people that show us that our lives matter to God.

Excellent book by David Jeremiah. If you need reassurance as the End Times draw near this is the book to read. He reassures us that all these things that are happening now are supposed to occur. They were prophesied many by Jesus himself. Our world seems to be spinning out of control and we see chaos all around us. Dr. Jeremiah reminds us that we should not act those who are evil but keep control of our emotions. Highly recommend this book.

The World of the End by Dr. David Jeremiah is a very timely and through explanation of what is referred to as the Olivet Discourse referenced in scripture. The books of Matthew (24:4-51); Mark (13:5-37) and Luke (21:7-38) each cover this teaching of Christ prompted by the question from his disciples, " When will you return and what will be the signs of your coming"? For the purposes of his book Dr. Jeremiah is referencing the scripture from Matthew 24. Dr. Jeremiah does a wonderful job of explaining these coming signs from a 21st century view point. And yet in all these worrisome & frightening signs that are referenced, Dr. Jeremiah never lets the reader lose sight of the hope that is found in Christ as our savior. Wonderful faith building book I highly recommend!!!

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson - W Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I loved the format of the book. The break down of how to live in today's world by using scripture is encouraging. The author did a thorough job of researching the Bible and the historical events. I found the 10 Verses to help you... very useful. It's comforting to know that in the end God is in control and will overcome all the darkness and sin. Recommended!

This book is perfect for anyone who is concerned about what is happening in our world. For most of us, it's not the world we grew up in. None of what is happening these days is a surprise to God, however, since it is outlined pretty clearly in the Bible what to expect in these challenging times. Dr. Jeremiah is gifted in laying it all out so we can understand what it is exactly the Bible says.

It's not surprising that humanity is becoming more opposed to the idea that an end is coming at all. Much of the world is distancing themselves from God. Crime is running rampant, there are shortages of necessary things such as baby formula, prices are high and many are concerned about what our kids are learning in school, and don't forget the war in Ukraine. God has cautioned us that we shouldn't be surprised about any of it. Good will be called evil and evil will be called good on a unprecedented scale.

Dr. Jeremiah dissects the scriptures and explains exactly what has been foretold to us regarding living through the end times.

This advanced review copy was given to me by Thomas Nelson in exchange for an honest review.

The World of the End is Dr. David Jeremiah's look at how current happenings in our world match with the prophecies of Jesus in Matthew 24. Dr. Jeremiah posits that what is described in Matthew 24 also mirrors the beginning judgments in Revelation, with today's events being the beginnings of the birth pangs. In other words, what is happening today is the birth pangs that will increase over time until the Church is raptured and the Tribulation begins.

The prophecy in Matthew 24 is broken down into phrases, with each phrase studied and supported by other scripture. It's a warning of what's to come, and reminder of how Christians should live and relate to others as we approach the end times.

It is an excellent read, and one every Christian should get. If you are not a Christian - if most of the words above meant nothing to you - read this anyway to understand what's coming. Reach out to a local Christian church. Call Dr. Jeremiah's ministry, Turning Point, for help. Send me a message, and I'll explain it. Grab a bible and read the book of Mark.

Family friendly.
