I really liked this book! It is the story of a daughter’s relationship with her mother. Laurie and her mother have a rocky relationship. They go on a trip to Europe, hoping to reconnect. The two women were definitely total opposites. I thought the authors did a great job with characterization. It was an emotional read. The story had some tender moments and also moments where I laughed out loud. I did not expect the twist at the end. Very well done!! I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for providing me with an advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a lovely book. I was so excited to read it and it did not disappoint. The relationship between the mother and daughter really had its ups and downs and the authors did a great job of really explaining why the daughter felt the way that she did and it was wonderful to see their relationship grew as the book progressed. I wish the ending didn't end the way it did, but it was bittersweet and a reminder to cherish the relationships that you have.

Thank you NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for a copy of this ebook.

I’m really glad I picked this one up. As someone who lost her mom young, mother-daughter centric books always pull at my heartstrings a little differently.

After a health scare, Laurie invites her mother, Liz, on a two week trip to Paris and Norway. The descriptions were stunning - as if you were right there with the pair.

The ending was not great. I wasn’t fully satisfied with it but the book was still a good read.

A wonderful mother- daughter story that really makes you miss your mother if she is no longer living. And if she is, then hurry up and call her and start talking! A plot twist at the end really stops the reader short. Very thought provoking.

Having just very recently lost a parent, I thought this would be a relevant and timely book to read and reflect on the parent-adult child relationship. While there were some overall themes that made me pause to think of my own relationship with my parents, or how my relationship could one day be with my daughter, the story wasn't the insightful book I had envisioned in that perspective. But the story itself was interesting enough to keep reading to see where it would take me. An unexpected ending added some depth and made this a worthwhile, easy read, but not a deeply emotional pull=at-the-heartstrings type of novel. Maybe that's just the type of book I needed at this moment.

Thank you to LBC, the authors, and NetGalley for the e-ARC.

One of my favorite memories in life are from the trips I used to take with my mom. One time, when I was in college, we decided to jump in the car and head up the West Coast. We didn't plan on where we were stopping or where we would stay. I was lucky to have a mom that I wanted to spend time with in this way.

The book, THINGS I WISH I TOLD MY MOTHER by Susan Patterson, Susan DiLallo and James Patterson, brought back so many memories of my mom. This is a story of a mother and daughter who are completely different. Laurie is a the free-spirited daughter and Liz has spent most of her life living through her profession as a doctor.

Laurie decides to invite her mom to a trip to Paris, and their adventures made me laugh throughout the story. Secrets come out, stories are shared, and bonding begins to happen. Of course, it isn't all roses on their trip.

There were times when I wished the book would hurry up, and I was a bit surprised (disappointed?) with the twist at the end.

I gave this three out of five stars. I liked how it brought back memories, but it was also easy to pick up and put down.

This was a cute mother/daughter relationship story that had some heavy themes. A once in a lifetime trip where the pair can make memories and grow closer but events happen,.... Somewhat predictable.

I was surprised to see James Patterson collaborated and co-wrote a book like this. Although I know he also writes a few series for young adults from the POV of Ali Cross. I did not enjoy nor enjoy this book. I felt it was kind of mediocre when I actually got around to reading it. I can see how other readers would enjoy this BUT it was not for me.

Thanks to NetGalley, Susan DiLallo, James and Susan Patterson and Little Brown & Company for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a stunningly wonderful book about a woman and her mother. Laurie surprises her mom with a vacation in an attempt to heal their frequently rocky relationship. We get to go along with them. It hit a little too close to home for me, which made it difficult to read at times. Still, I loved it. I’ve read it twice more since my first reading, and I am sure I will read it many more times. Yes, it is that good.
I highly recommend this book.

This book really tugged st the heart strings. Especially since it was the anniversary of my moms death the day I first started reading it.

A heartwarming AND heartbreaking tale about the highs and lows of a mother-daughter relationship that will make you want to hold your loved ones close and tell people what they mean to you and take them on a worldwide spin before it’s too late.

I enjoyed the (mostly) Paris setting for this book and the distinct personalities of the MCs Dr. Liz and Laurie, mother and daughter. A very realistic story that has some serious life lessons, but also with a little bit of humor and a lot of travel and good food! I was NOT expecting the ending. It packed a lot of punch 🥹

3.5/5 ⭐️!

Thank you so much to LBC, the authors, and NetGalley for the e-ARC!

This book was a lovely story about a mother and daughter needing to reconnect. I loved reading about their "travels" and enjoyed reading how they learned to talk about the past and start to understand each other before there was no longer time to do so. It had a twist, which I didn't see coming and I really loved. Thank you for sharing- we are using this in our book club.

The story of a mother and daughter trip to Paris and Norway after the Mother falls ill and the mother and daughter develop a new appreciation for each other. A gentle reminder to make time for the loved ones in our lives before it is too late.

The ending blew me away. Tender, inspirational and not your typical mother/daughter story. And that all has to do with the way that it ends. You'll never forget Mother's Day again.

Thank you #NetGalley for the advanced copy.

I have never read a James Patterson book but with my mother getting older I could not resist this one. The mother-daughter trip to Paris, which is the focus of the book, is interesting but not life-changing reading -- until the twist near the end that reviews keep referencing. That twist made the whole read worth it and put things into perspective for me in a fresh way. Highly recommended. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. #ThingsIWishIToldMyMother #NetGalley

While I was reading Things I Wish I Told My Mother by Susan Patterson, Susan DiLallo, and James Patterson, I was thinking that I wish my mother and I had been able to take a trip like this before she died. The story was so authentic and heart warming.

This book will make you laugh and cry. I loved the storyline and it shows how important it is to enjoy your parents while they are still around. We all think we have so much time but this book shows that life can change on a dime. I can’t recommend this book enough. A mother and daughter on vacation in Paris unpack a lifetime of secrets and hopes with a giant twist at the end.

Things I Wish I told My Mother is a story about the relationship between an adult daughter and mother. What a beautiful book that pulled at the heart strings. Have tissues on hand. I was moved by this story, and it is one I will remember for a lifetime. Hug your mom and call your mom no matter what age you are!
