I love the fake relationship trope. This story kept me glued to the pages. The chemistry between Colter and Adeline was on fire. They both had to deal with their pasts to move on and be together. I enjoyed how everything turned out and can’t wait for the next book!

Most Eligible Bachelor isn't all that it's cracked up to be as Colter Ward soon finds out when he's targeted by women everywhere he goes. When he can't even get a beer in peace without being propositioned, he cuts a deal with ace reporter Adeline Harlow. A story in exchange for a fake relationship.
Adeline, once lived in Devils Bluff, where she had a relationship with the Ward family.  Disillusioned on the romance front, she's back in Devil's Bluff to write a story about her old buddy Colter Ward and what it's like to named: the most eligible bachelor.
Colter decides to a romance with her as a beard to keep all the women away and get some peace and quiet in exchange for that exclusive story that she wants. In a small town, the only way to promote a romance is to live it and soon the fake romance is becoming more real. But she's still to forget and forgive and besides her life is in New York, and Cotter's is here in Devil's Bluffs.
Can they figure out a way to get what they want and need without compromising everything else? A short and sweet story that I enjoyed very much.

This is the 1st book in the “Devil’s Bluff Series”. This is the romantic journey of Colton and Adeline. Colton is the most eligible bachelor and he is a super sexy alpha cowboy. Colton is back in his home town after a nasty divorce. After saving a calf and being photographed the photo goes viral and all of the women are vying for his attention. Adeline is an old friend of Colton who works for the blog that gave Colton the name of most eligible cowboy and she is out to land an interview Colton. Adeline is meeting Colton at the local bar he has a proposition for her he will grant her an interview in exchange for her being his fake girlfriend. It is a great idea but when feelings get in the way things go from fake to real. Colton and Adeline have great chemistry and are the perfect couple.

I received and ARC via NetGalley and Harlequin Desire and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Terrific book. Colter has been having a tough year. He's still reeling from his divorce, his father's health is rapidly declining, and since he was named Texas's Sexiest Bachelor, the women won't leave him alone. He can't even drink a beer at his friend's bar without constantly being propositioned. As the book opens, he's unsuccessfully trying to drink in peace. Just as he's chased one woman away, another appears at his elbow.

Adeline has returned to her hometown to write a follow-up story on Colter. Years ago, she was his little brother's babysitter and had a massive crush on Colter. She hopes to use that connection to get the story that will guarantee the promotion she wants at work. She's also happy to get out of New York for a while, away from the memories of her broken engagement.

The first meeting between Colter and Adeline had me laughing out loud. Colter's frustration is evident as he deals with the woman coming on to him, only to be accosted by yet another woman. But this one is different. Her reaction to Colter's nonavailability statement was hilarious, and his response to who she was set the tone for their relationship. I loved their conversation about her determination to get the interview with him and Colter's flash of inspiration on how to help them both. It didn't take much to convince Adeline to pose as his fake girlfriend in exchange for the interview, but neither expected the surge of attraction as they sealed the deal with a kiss.

I loved watching their relationship develop. Thanks to the Olympic-level gossip chain in the small town, Colter and Adeline find themselves spending more time together than expected. Their friendship grows as they find they have a lot in common, and their attraction grows along with it. I liked the scenes where they opened up about their pasts, fears, and plans for the future. But the more time they spend together, the harder it is to remember that the relationship isn't real and that Adeline will be headed back to New York.

Just as Colter and Adeline begin to realize the truth of their feelings and consider possibilities, tragedy strikes. Colter's fears and guilt come rushing back to the surface, and he pushes Adeline away. I wanted to shake Colter for his jerky behavior and felt that he deserved the misery he felt. Both have some serious thinking to do about what they want and some past issues to confront before they can move ahead. I loved the ending and the result of those actions. It was great to see that both Colter and Adeline were willing to make changes, and I loved how they worked out the perfect solution.

I loved Adeline's twist in her follow-up article on Texas's Sexiest Bachelor. I didn't see that coming and laughed out loud at the results. The final chapter is a terrific lead-in to the next book, and I can't wait to read it.

The is a Fake Dating Cowboy Romance, and this is the first book in the Devil's Bluffs series. I really enjoyed this book, and I loved the characters so much. I found the beginning of this book funny and cute, and this book pulled me into the story from the beginning. This book does get steamy at times. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Desire) or author (Stacey Kennedy) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Terrific friends-to-lovers story!

Adeline is back in her hometown just to write a follow-up story on the hot cowboy she'd always crushed on as a young girl. Colter is still reeling from his divorce, has no time for big-city women, and hates that the New York City article naming him "Texas’s sexiest bachelor of the year" has resulted in him being constantly pursued by women from all over. Adeline is a refreshing change, a gal he fondly remembers as his younger brother's babysitter, now all grown up but not at all like the gold diggers haunting his every move.

Adeline is determined to get an exclusive interview with Colter, no matter how reclusive he wants to be these days. But still, she's stunned when he agrees to trade that interview for her cooperation as his fake girlfriend to keep the hordes at bay. What does she have to lose?

Things quickly escalate in a small town where rumor mongering is a cherished sport, forcing Colter and Adeline to spend far more time together than they'd ever planned. Which works beautifully for their relationship, but not so great for their long term plans. Even so, I loved how the story focused on their friendship first, their attraction second.

I adored the pacing of this story, how things smoothly progressed in both heart and heat. I adored the delightfully satisfying encounter with the ex, and loved even more the follow up meeting that set things right. There's a bit of tragedy, though not completely unexpected, and it was perfectly timed to both separate them and eventually bring them back together.

This is a well-thought-out story with compelling characters and an intense, realistic storyline. I loved every bit and highly recommend it for anyone who loves contemporary cowboy romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Most Eligible Cowboy: A Western Fake Relationship romance by Stacey Kennedy is the first title in her new Devil's Bluff series, and what a great way to kick off a new series. It gets 4 stars from this reader.

Adeline Harlow grew up in Devil's Bluff, the only child of her single mother. She decided early on that she wanted to be a journalist, and after high school and some on-the-job training at the local newspaper, she left Devil's Bluff and moved to New York City to pursue her dream. As a young girl, she used to babysit Beau Ward, younger brother of Colter Ward, who was the subject of her major crush. She's now bucking for a promotion at her job in New York, and she wants to interview Colter Ward who was voted the Sexiest Bachelor in Texas that year. As his sexy photo got out, he's been besieged by women from all over, but one year after a nasty divorce, he just wants to be left alone--at least until he's approached at the local bar by Adeline, now a stylish and beautiful woman. She's going to be in town for two weeks and she desperately wants that interview and that promotion. She and Colter come up with a plan. She'll pretend to be his fake girlfriend to keep the other women away from him, and he'll give her the interview she wants.

One other reason Adeline wanted to get out of New York was that less than one month ago she discovered that the man she was engaged to marry, Brock, was having an affair with his secretary, and now he keeps calling and texting her--she's done with him and ignoring his attempts to communicate. Her fake relationship with Colter will also hopefully prove she's over Brock, but will the attraction she's always felt for Colter, and his new attraction to her move from a fake relationship to a real one? You'll just have to read this sometimes sad, always enjoyable, and sexy romance to find out. I'll be looking forward to the next book in this series, which I think will be about Beau Colter and Adeline's best friend, Nora. All in all, a very good read!

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions stated are my own.

Adeline comes back to her hometown after being away for years in NYC, to write a blog post on her old crush and now Texas’s Sexiest Bachelor- Colter Ward. He now runs a massive ranch and flies choppers but wants nothing to do with all the ladies coming into town. They both have to work through their past and new hardships that come along in the book. The chemistry is steamy even though it starts out a fake.

Enjoyed this cowboy romance, book one of a new series! I can’t wait for more of it- it was fast paced, whitty, charming, steamy, and small town Texas!

Stacey Kennedy's Harlequin debut is sizzling and on point! With the first book in her brand new Devil's Bluff series Kennedy delights her readers with a friends-to-lovers/fake romance remix and I enjoyed every scintillating moment! Great characters, well developed back stories and just enough sweet small-town romance feel to pair with the steamy character development to make a well rounded romance. I'm looking forward to visiting Devil's Bluff often!

Colter Ward is down-to-earth and kindhearted and just a downright sweet kind of guy. He's being pestered by women all over town after a pesky article named him a catch and he's willing to try anything to get some peace and quiet again.

Adeline is sweet and sincere and isn't shy about stepping in to help Colter out while guaranteeing herself a juicy byline. I enjoyed the layers her character unraveled as she processed her past and opened herself up to her future.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a fast paced, witty connection between friends and lovers as they slowly let their guard down to accept true love into their heart.

Colton Ward is the most eligible cowboy in Texas and hates the attention. Adeline Harlow is back in her hometown to interview Colton. She meets him at a bar and saves him from some ladies out to get his interest. They strike a deal; she gets the story, and he gets a pretend girlfriend. As time goes by, they seem to be more and more attracted to each other. Both have issues and must work thru before the HEA.
I love this story and look forward to the next book.
