Well written and very sensitive to the feelings of the child.

The Search for the Magical Egg is an adorable story about Sheldon, a young turtle who wants to know where babies come from. Sheldon's parents couldn't have their own children, so they looked high and low for the right egg for their family. This book shows kids that are born in less conventional ways that they are loved so much! The illustrations are precious! Beautiful story!

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!

The Search for the Magical Egg is a beautiful, heart warming story about family.
When Sheldon Turtle wants to know where babies come from Mummy and Daddy Turtle tell him a story about finding his egg to complete their family.
After many failed attempts to hatch an egg, they searched all over the ocean to find the perfect egg. We are introduced to lots of different sea creatures, who offer their eggs but none are right. Then Tina Turtle offers her egg, which is a perfect fit!
The story highlights a tale of adoption, love and family.
It is beautifully written. The illustrations are absolutely stunning. The bright colours and cute characters bring the book to life.
I would highly recommend this book. I feel the target age is 4-8 year olds.

This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well, even thought is very short I could really connect with the characters and feel theirs struggles.
I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was.
I will definitely recommend!

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is a delightful , funny and informative read that I recommend to parents, guardians and teachers. The book tells the story of Sheldon who is a turtle is one day curious on where he came from. His parents being similar to mine told him of the adventure they embarked on to get a magical egg where he would come from. It's a delightful tale with delightful characters . It's guaranteed to make you laugh out loud and the illustrations are wonderfully done.

This children's book is a very cute story about a turtle family and how baby Sheldon came into his parents' life. The illustrations are vivid, colorful and vibrant (it sometimes gave vibes reminiscent of kids' sticker booklets, funnily enough). But all the characters look adorable.

The illustrations in this book were beautiful, with vibrant colors and quirky and fun characters. Sheldon was an adorable little turtle who had a thousand and one questions. His curiosity knew no bounds, and his Mom and Dad had to become creative to tell how he came about.

I
loved the illustrations the most. Definitely brought the book
together. A child would love seeing all the bright and colorful
sea creatures. The story was about a mom and dad turtle
struggling with infertility and explaining to their son how he
came to be. I think this would be a very sweet book for a
family to use with their younger children to explain infertility.

The Search for the Magical Egg is a beautiful story about a young turtle, Sheldon, who asks his mom and dad where babies come from. What comes next is a beautiful story of how his parents searched for the most perfect egg that eventually turned into Sheldon. I went into this book without knowing much about it, and I will say I found this book to be just perfect. As someone who was not able to conceive my children on my own, I found this book to be a perfect way to help explain IVF to my twin boys. It is such a cute way to explain IVF. I would totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a way to explain IVF to young children. The illustrations were also absolutely beautiful!

This is a sweet book about adoption. The illustrations are excellent and the story is beautiful. My children (3 and 6 years old) really enjoyed it and it provides easy segues for talking to young children about adoption. I especially loved how the potential egg donors were sincerely thanked for their gifts.

This book looks like a work of art! The drawings are so detailed, so exquisite, so beautiful! The vivid colors and bold, clear lines go hand in hand with the bold and clear message of this short and sweet little book.
Through the lens of this adorable story, there is a beautiful and loving way to start a conversation about various families and what makes a family, about the different ways families are made.

Two turtles were in love but every egg she laid broke. So they went on a search.
Barlow Book Publishing and Net Galley let me read this book (thank you). It will be published soon.

They looked at everyone's egg but none of them seemed appropriate. Then they met another turtle who had an egg. When she heard their story, she gives them her egg.

They raised a child and were happy.

The other eggs were more attractive but this one grew a turtle!

Adorable book! Such a sweet turtle family. Would be a wonderful book to gently explain infertility or surrogacy. Beautiful pictures. Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful idea to help parents who have conceived through IVF (or even those who had the help of a surrogate) to explain to their kids and open up conversations about their journey to find each other.

I think this is a cute book to explain infertility, surrogacy, adoption, etc. to small children — or to just illustrate diverse families in general. My cousin's a surrogate, so her kids are familiar with how surrogacy works (not the interworkings of it, but the gist). This book is better suited for kids not accustomed to these types of families. It's good to open up the conversation 🙃

A very cute tale about sea life and their various eggs. I truly enjoyed the elements of explaining certain aspects of procreation.
