this can be a good starter book in Chinese astrology. Like others in this series there are starting topics that one would see in other books on the topic. Nice to see you want to go more.

In Focus Chinese Astrology; Your Personal Guide by Sasha Fenton was a miss for me. I'd rather go directly to the source.

Great introductory work on Chinese Astrology! Great for the metaphysical section, will definitely be getting a copy for our growing collection. I'm a new astrology researcher, and found the differences in Chinese astrology to be very interesting.

I loved this book and will go back to it from time to time to see what the month/year ahead should bring. This is a great book for an introduction to Chinese astrology, I did not know anything before getting it, and would recommend it to anyone that wants to learn more about the topic. I do love the In Focus Collection and I'm looking forward to seeing what else they bring. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley. #InFocusChineseAstrology #NetGalley

Chinese Astrology

Sasha Fenton provides very interesting information about Chinese Astrology, including stating that unlike the Western zodiac, which is made up of animals, people, and one inanimate object (the Scales), the signs in the Chinese zodiac are all animals, apart from the Dragon, which is a mythical beast. Each animal represents a year in a twelve-year cycle. She presents their usual order from the Rat to the Pig.

The author states that the best way to begin understanding Chinese astrology is to look up your year sign in the chart she provides in tnis book. This list gives dates for Chinese years and each year’s polarity, element, and animal sign. She states that some Chinese astrologers dispense with the lunar year and its “floating” dates and settle instead on a solar year that starts on February 4, but for this book, she stuck to tradition and provided the lunar year dates.

She further discusses the animal signs, along with the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water stating that they have their own nature and energies, which she provides in this book.

The author discusses the characteristics of each sign based on the lunar year, each sign's general lifestyle, the yin and yang of each sign, their different personalities, and their compatibility.

This is a very informative book on Chinese Astrology and I would recommend it for beginners interested in Chinese Astrology.

This book has lots of information in it and is good for people who want to know more about how Chinese astrology works with the traditional horoscopes. It's fun to look up your family and friends and see who you are compatible with, I often find that it accurately predicts what animal signs you don't get on with too!
(Thanks to Net Galley for this Book).

Pros: I spent my childhood years living in Singapore, so I’ve known from a young age that I was born in the year of the Tiger. We celebrated Chinese New Year and learned a bit about the Chinese Zodiac. As an adult, I’m very interested in different personality typing systems and enjoyed learning more about the Chinese Astrology. I had not known about the role of elements before, and now I’ve learned that I am a Fire Tiger. I think this book would be lots of fun to read with a group and to discover each person’s animal and element.

Cons: None really. I was not sure of the depth of this book when I started reading, but it ended up being a great overview that beginners can use and then do additional research if they are interested.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press for the opportunity to read this book.

I'm a big fan of the 'In Focus' guides as they are straight forward guides and a great start for beginners in new age.
In the Chinese Astrology it explains and describes the characteristics and personality of each animal (I found out cats tend to like snake people - which is true since I'm a snake and my boyfriend's cat really loves me haha) and information to interpret your astrological chart .

The book focuses on:
- Descriptions of the 12 Chinese Zodiac Signs
- The Elements paired with the zodiac signs and how that energy affects your interactions
- Which signs are Yin & Yang and how those energies can affect interacting with other signs
- how your personality and characteristics defer depending on your birth chart
- predictions and advice on Love, Career and many others for the year ahead

The 'In Focus' guides come with a poster and are in pretty colours that are very attractive on your bookshelf. i warn you to dedicate one bookcase as the series are growing and releasing different topics every time I check the bookstore.
