Grace and Calvin, Calvin and Grace! What the hell! This is impossible to review without spoilers!

I loved Jeneva’s trademark twists and her ability to reel me in within a few chapters. You Shouldn’t Have Come Here is tense, insidious, and suspenseful with a plot twist to end all plot twists. Mind. Blown.

I’ll think twice before booking a solo trip to Wyoming …. or will I? Insert sinister laugh …..

Thank you @BlackstonePublishing for this gifted copy and to Jeneva Rose for always keeping me on my toes!

Calling this book a thriller is a bit of a stretch. Actually, it’s a lot of a stretch. It reads like an odd mix of romance and campy horror. If it were a movie in the 80s it would’ve been panned.

Jeneva Rose became one of my favorite authors with her book the perfect marriage, so I was insanely excited to receive the arc for You Shouldn’t Have Come Here. The premise is an Airbnb in a small town in the middle of nowhere. The sexual tension between the main character and the owner of the house is noticeable from the get go. I felt like this book had a ton of potential, but the twist at the end did not feel believable to the characters. Which is why I’m giving it 3 stars.

This was so well written. I was engrossed from the first page and it ticked all the boxes of my expectations. The character development was excellent. I would definitely recommend to others, a must read!

This was such a great thriller! I went in blind so I was a little surprised how much romance was involved but I didn’t mind it at all. It was fast-paced, unsettling and that ending was pretty satisfying even if it was a little predictable and still left me with a few questions.

I love Jeneva Rose, but this book fell a little flat for me. It was more romance than thriller but I didn’t feel like the romance actually grew at all. The twist at the end was bleh and it was a tough one to slog through!

This was fast paced and twisty. It felt like i was watching a movie and I LOVE books like that. I have so many questions about the ending though!

This book has promise. With a little more depth and action, this could’ve been more exciting. The end had nice little moments that helped, but overall just little too slow moving and paced. Felt rather predictable but I did enjoy the direction and the end. Was an easy and quick read over all.

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing for my copy! I finished this one in a day! I love Jeneva Rose’s books so she’s an author I will drop everything for to read ASAP. This was mostly a slow burn until the end. Im a fan of slow burns and I found it entertaining enough to speed through it. I was able to figure out the big twist, as there were some bread crumbs along the way. Some parts were a little eye role inducing, some were a little horrific, but overall I stayed entertained throughout. Recommended if you are a fan of this author! Def pick this one up when it releases in April!

I have loved Jeneva's books in the past, but this one had a lot of issues for me. It felt more like a romance at times than a thriller. This one felt like she threw a lot of different ideas that weren't related onto sticky notes that came into her head and then forced them all into one novel.

Here's some of the issues I had:
The back and forth between questioning his behaviors and then being all into him. I get going through this process once or twice...but I lost count how many times it happened and it just made Grace seem all over the place. She was obviously lying about who she was and playing mind games with him, but it felt almost like two completely different characters at times. Calvin's obsession and Grace's hot and cold actions could have been built slower throughout the novel and it would have felt more believable.

One line that stuck with me because it sounded utterly ridiculous was, "She was everything and she was nothing, Which made her the perfect amount of something." WHAT? Moving on.

It would have made more sense if in the end Grace was connected to the missing girl somehow and had hunted him down in order to either avenge her death or save her from this psychopath Calvin...but the ending was just dumb. So is she now going to raise her daughter to be an Airbnb host murderer?

I'm supposed to believe that literally an entire town of people are bat shit crazy? Or helping hide the fact that Calvin is a serial killer? Calvin/Charlotte/Joe/Uncle Albert/Betty...all nuts. It was too much.

The amount of times he talked about her eyes being blue. We get it.

This is one of the best thrillers I have read in a very long time! It kept me guessing and was impossible to put down!

I have read and loved everything that Jeneva Rose has written (and love following her on social!) but this one was a miss for me, which makes me so sad! This book was slooooow and highly unbelievable. I'm all for suspending belief at times, but this felt so far-fetched that it made it hard to read. I don't know a single female who would willingly rent a room in a strangers home in the middle of nowhere for vacation. Not.a.single.one. Beyond that, it was a slow moving book and I kept waiting for something to happen, like with her other books. I guessed the "twist" fairly early on so it made it a big of a slog to get through once I guessed it.

Thank you to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing, and Jeneva Rose for an advance copy of You Shouldn’t Have Come Here in exchange for an honest review. Jeneva does it again- what a read! I absolutely loved this setting (maybe it’s because I’m Midwestern) and the ending of this one truly shocked me! Grace was a unique, but likeable main character so that definitely added to the story. There were parts of this one that may seem a bit slower than others but the ending definitely ties everything together and makes it all worth it! This one is available now!! 4.5 stars

You Shouldn't Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose is a twisty thriller that I couldn't read fast enough. I loved the range of characters and interesting twists and turns throughout the book. I'm definitely interested in reading more by Jeneva!

I loved Jeneva Rose's first book - The Perfect Marriage - but everything since then has been a big miss for me.

This was even better than Jeneva's debut novel and second novel, in my opinion. It hooked me in from the very start and I was instantly invested in both of the main characters, even if I didn't quite trust either one. The narrative switched back and forth between the two main characters, making it hard to tell which one was trustworthy and/or unreliable. Add in the underlying romantic tension and this made for a great romantic suspense. It has a whopper of an ending and I was very pleased with how it turned out. Thank you for the early look at this novel.

This was such a fun, twisty ride! Jeneva Rose managers to keep the reader guessing through each plot twist until the very end and it was such a satisfying ending! Loved it!

I really loved Jeneva’s new book! It had dual POV between Calvin and Grace. It felt like you couldn’t trust either one of them. I’m not a huge fan of slow burns, but I still feel like she did a great job at the end with the plot twists! The book had a very creepy vibe and even though I wasn’t in the middle of nowhere, I got a little scared reading it.

This book had such an amazing premise, but its cloudiness and fluff kept me from staying engaged. I feel i more anger read through this book than excitedly wanted to read. I felt the ending with our main female was unnecessary and added nothing to her personality, and while I didn’t see the twist coming it was also entirely unbelievable. This book had such promise, but it just fell flat with unlikeable constantly changing characters who couldn’t keep anything straight. RIP Uncle Albert.
