As a fan of The Little Prince, I really enjoyed this book as a way to open communication with younger readers. The Little Prince has always been known for its life lessons and this book is no different.

I enjoyed the layout of a short, digestible story, the lesson and deeper meaning followed by open-ended questions to help children really internalize the stories and think about what they think and how it makes them feel.

The illustrations are well done and I like the glow in the stars aspect as well.

A great book for young and old fans of The Little Prince!

It is a small retelling about the little prince, which summarizes it in order to be appropiate for younger children, sadly I do not like it, it feels like it stripped most of the important things of the book, children are young not dumb.

⭐ Not Quite a Retelling, But Still a Valuable Companion

The Little Prince is such a classic, so any retelling is instantly intriguing. This one, though, feels less like a retelling and more like an accompanying guide. Each page is sprinkled with stars (which I can only imagine would look amazing glow-in-the-dark in hard copies).

Rather than expanding the story’s background, the book highlights the values and morals in each scene. After a very brief recounting of what happened with the prince, you get a titled “lesson” followed by a couple of reflection questions.
I do wish there were a few more of these questions (just one or two extra) and that some also prompted readers to recognise flaws and negative behaviours, not just the positive.

The illustrations strike a nice balance: comical enough to be playful, but polished enough to carry a hint of seriousness.

I wouldn’t market this as a “retelling” because so much of the original plot is lost. Instead, it works best as a companion resource to Saint-Exupéry’s original, ideally matched to its chapters or events.

While the target audience is listed as age 5+, I think the values and concepts here might resonate more with children closer to 7–8 years old, when social storytelling and moral reasoning begin to click in the way the book presents them.

That said, this book can be an invaluable tool for parents, teachers, and caregivers who want to spark meaningful conversations about values with children.

There's a reason why this book is such a classic, it's lovely and reading it again as an adult, with my own kids it's a beautiful feeling.

Love the illustration. I wish I can see the printed books. The Little Prince is such a timeless classic that should be read once in a while.
Thank you for providing beautiful journey.

I've watched The Little Prince movie, and this book reflects just a small part of that journey. The message is powerful: being strong yet choosing not to help others is selfish, seeking validation through outer beauty is meaningless, being filthy rich doesn’t give anyone the right to claim that everything belongs to them, and true power lies in knowledge.

This is my honest opinion of the ARC I received and thank you author and NetGalley for the opportunity!

'The Journey of The Little Prince' by Corinne Delporte is a charming and visually enchanting adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic tale, tailored for a younger audience. This beautifully illustrated book captures the heart of the original story—its whimsy, wonder and emotional depth—while making it more accessible to early readers.

What truly sets this edition apart is the glow-in-the-dark stars. They add a magical element that children absolutely love, especially during bedtime reading. It brings the story to life in a tactile, immersive way that’s sure to spark imagination and curiosity.

The text is simplified, making it easier for little ones to follow, though that does mean some of the deeper philosophical layers of the original are softened. Still, it’s a thoughtful and gentle introduction to themes like friendship, love and looking beneath the surface.

Overall, this version is a lovely bridge into the world of 'The Little Prince' and the glow-in-the-dark feature is a definite highlight. Perfect for nighttime reading and for inspiring young dreamers.

What a great story of “the little prince” this is such a cute adventure that the little prince goes on. This book was a sweet story that I think most children, YA would love and also learn from. Travels to other places and meeting people who have something to teach him. I loved it. Thank you NetGalley for this wonderful ARC, I’m surely going to add this to my own collection.

The little Prince is a classic - one that I did never read (please don't ask me why because it has been on my tbr for ages).

Thanx to Netgalley I had the chance to read the ebook, this means the sparkling stars in my book are missing... Does that matter, I don't think so...

The journey of the little Prince makes us travel around the universe. The prince travels to different planets and meets al sorts of leaders during his travels... But it's hard to find that planet that feels good, that could feel like home!

In the book we see the typical illustations that characterize the little Prince... But the richness comes from the questions written in the book... They make you (and your child) think about the things that are truly important!

There is no denying the whimsy and charm of the original novel from 1943, and how many children and adults have been impacted by it.

This retelling takes a far simpler approach, shortening the tale, adding visual interest and also opening up conversation with children by including questions. While effective, it reminds me of those books that used to accompany theatrical releases of children's films—it tells the same story, but in a different way. While this is a great way to introduce the classic to a new audience, I hope they will still be enamored by the original as they get older and not feel like it needs to be watered down.

Thank you to Chouette Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Journey of The Little Prince by Corinne Delporte is a retelling of The Little prince--which I have never read, but am intrigued to do so now--and follows the little prince to different planets. There, he meets adults and learns how superficial their motives are, which teach him valuable lessons.

I really like the different life lessons in this book, especially because of the questions on the pages which can make children think about what is important to them. The illustrations by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry are simplistic but convey the little prince's journey very well!

I think I would have liked a bit more explanation of why things are not good or superficial because I can imagine some children struggling with these kind of topics. It could lead to conversations with the parents/reader though!

As a lover of the Little Prince since my preteen days, I had to see how this book would stack up next to the original and whether it could be used to introduce the younger children in my life to one of my favorite books!

Overall, I think it's a good effort that ends with the Prince meeting the fox (so the author pilot and such is left out entirely)! It is interesting how, after simple summaries of places the Prince went, there are discussion questions for parents and children about the allegorical lessons of the place. I think that's a neat addition to get young kids to reflect on what it is they're reading and not just passively consuming it.

I think a few of the word choices are a bit high for the intended toddler audience (absurd when silly would work as well, for example) so parents may need to explain a few of them as they read.

This book was cute and informational with life lessons spelled out. As the little prince meets different adults, there is something inherently wrong about their actions. This is a good book for young children to learn and promote discussion.

The Journey of The Little Prince is a short retelling of The Little Prince with illustrations, some explanations, and some questions for the reader. The Little Prince travels to different planets where he’ll meet people who he finds strange. In every interaction, he’ll learn valuable lessons about:
❤︎ Responsible use of power
❤︎ Not depending on people’s approval or opinions
❤︎ Wealth isn’t just measured by belongings
❤︎ The importance of both knowledge and experience
So overall, it teaches really useful lessons for kids, I would totally recommend it! I can’t really compare to the original novel, since I’ve never read it but this book has inspired me to check it out. I’ll update my review after!
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

This is the very first version/edition of The Little Prince that I've read. I plan to read the original too! I really liked the simplicity of the illustrations as it encaptured the mood, theme and emotions of the story! I like how there are questions to be asked after each segment and gives you the chance to introspect. I really enjoyed this story!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Charming and.nostalgic, it has a lot of the delightful warmth of the classic. I really enjoyed the bold illustrations and the different elements of his journey, with prompt questions. For your little readers. I do think it’s a little wordy for the demographic., however. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for letting me read!
