What a great interpretation of the Hollywood star/average person trope. I really liked Jack and Cassidy, how they are drawn to each other and communicate with each other.

Jack Winston is a Hollywood action hero, it is true,
But he's had enough, seeing his sister is what he wants to do.
He has is assistant send a message to her to say he's visiting now
But missing punctuation tags the wrong person -kapow!!

When her YouTube channel following goes mad
Cassidy James assumes its something bad.
She's a construction worker who shares her skills
The spike in followers, she assume bodes ill!

That tag sends the paparazzi fleeing!
They assume Cass is Jack's secret fling.
To the small town of Blink in Maine they go
Hoping to get a scoop on this romance, you know.

Jack also goes there to apologise and to see
If there's anyway he can help Cass, if only she'll agree.
Be ready for a dinosaur PR team
With threats, bribery and a potential dream!

Should Cass agree to have a fake romance?
Should she give Jack even a little chance?
But when he leaves town again, what will she do?
Can small town romances and dreams come true?

A heartwarming story in a lovely small town
Where friendships soon develop and more are grown.
A place where romance can flourish, hearts can heal
And maybe all can true love feel!

A lovely story involving accidental fame
Which shows stars are more than just a name.
It gives the hero a very human side, too,
One in which love can finally shine through.

For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.

This book had me hiding my eyes saying oh no (in all the best ways possible) and laughing out loud more times than I can count.

Through no fault of her own Cassidy finds herself attached to one of the most eligible bachelors in the country and her entire world turns upside down.

Jack is going to have to have a word with his PA about posting tweets before double-checking who he's tagging but since the damage has been done and he needs a break why not take it in Blink Maine.

Get these two in the same room and sparks fly and the banter is what dreams are made of if only they'd seen it sooner like just about everyone else.

With a slew of misunderstandings and an ex that just has to show up at the worst moments (Tristen I'm talking to you) the moment these two realize what's going on and how they feel is magic, pure and simple.

I adored this book, it's one of those that when I finished it I just sat with a little smile on my face and felt like everything ended just the way it should.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled for providing an advance copy of this ebook, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a sweet little small-town celebrity romance and it was a quick, enjoyable read. It’s the second in a series but absolutely works as a standalone; I didn’t ever feel like I was missing out on anything. I think it’s a great premise (I love the idea of a social media mix-up!), well-written, and there were lots of cute moments. I also really liked all the side characters that inhabited the town of Blink – they were all very endearing and I could imagine the whole setting perfectly.

Unfortunately it didn’t go much beyond “just ok” for me; I didn’t find that there was much substance to really dig into. Cassidy and Jack like each other right away, get along well, and are honestly kind of boring. There was no tension or chemistry and the romance was suuuuper clean. Very little happens in general and there are no obstacles until the last 30 pages of the book. I also found the conflict very cliché and frustrating.

I don’t often gravitate towards small town romances, and maybe this is why. Maybe they’re just too sweet and chill for my angst and drama loving self. 😂

BUT if you’re looking for a lighthearted closed-door romance with small town vibes that’s sweet and won’t make your blood pressure rise, you might want to check this one out.

Jack and Cassidy are an absolute delight, as is the town of Blink, Maine. The fun begins when mega movie star Jack Winston accidentally tags small town contractor Cassidy on social media. Now the whole world is obsessed with her and he needs to make it right.
The moment Jack sets foot in Blink, the fireworks begin. Cassidy, though attracted to him instantly, is annoyed by him and his charm and the whole celebrity schtick. Jack, though? Absolutely smitten.
This wasn’t an insta-love story but the attraction and curiosity is there from the start. She is everything he didn’t know he wanted in a girl—the same goes for Blink—and Jack lets Cassidy be herself which is endlessly appealing for an oddball like sweet Cassidy.
I enjoyed pretty much everything about this story. It was a fun cast of characters including Marion the Megalodon and the meddling Roger, and Jack’s super serious bodyguard Flex. The chemistry between Jack and Cassidy was off the charts and they just seemed to genuinely enjoy being around one another which make Accidentally Famous a true joy to read.

Cassidy James lives in Blink, Maine at town of only a few hundred people. She is happy with her life, her friends and her business renovating homes. When she is accidently tagged in an Instagram post by a famous actor, her world as she knows it will never be the same. Soon she is being hounded by the press, lawyers are wanting her to sign an NDA and Jack Winston himself shows up on her doorstep with a proposal that could change her life. Everything is upside down, but the biggest problem is when Cassidy gets to know Jack and sees that he is everything she could want in a man. Now Cassidy is faced with loving Jack or setting him free to save his career, which will she choose?

Marissa Clarke is such a fabulous author and brings us the second book in the Hideaway Harbor series which will have you laughing at the antics of Cassidy and Jack, along with maybe a few tears as Cassidy decides what she has to do to save Jack. It was well written, and I loved seeing the characters from the first book Accidentally Perfect. Thanks to Entangled Publishing for my advanced copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Curl up friends and come visit Hideaway Harbor.

Accidentally Famous by Marissa Clarke

A delightfully sweet romcom, with fake dating, real love and strong relationships that will give you the escape each reader needs.

Accidentally famous was a fantastic quick read. I couldn't put it down the story of famous Jack Winston and small town home renovator Cassidy James who have been uprooted from their daily lives and thrown into a fake relationship due to a case of accidental tagging on social media. Jack is more than a pretty face and Cassidy unlocks dreams he once kept to himself.

The mark of a great book to me is when side characters shine. Cassidy's best friend Amanda was a ride or die best friend, Jack's hard-ass manager Marion the Megalodon and even the small town of Blink, Maine gave this story depth.

Accidentally Famous by Marissa Clarke is the wholesome, cute rom-com we didn't know we needed. Jack Winston is famous actor caring for his sister, niece and nephew. Cassidy James is a normal person working at a construction company to revive older homes. Thanks to social media, Jack and Cassidy connect and the fake dating begins. I really enjoyed this book but definitely wanted more spice as this book is very tame. However, the story is perfect and swoon worthy. Why can't there be more guys like Jack!?! Looking forward to more from this author.

If you have ever had the fantasy of normal everyday girl who meets and falls in love with a famous actor, then this is the book for you. Cassidy lives and works in Blink, Maine and is a contractor, handywoman who has learned the trade from her father, and is making a living refurbishing an old home in her home town. Everyone knows her and loves her. Then quite by accident Jack, the famous actor, sees her You Tube videos and something about her clicks. He decides to go to Blink, meet her and see what she does. A cute romantic story is this one and although not exactly the genre I love, it was quite enjoyable. The characters were well described and i could visualize Blink and the old house being renovated.

Jack Winston -famous actor, Cassidy James - normal person. One accidental hashtag. The recipe for a modern day fairy tale. The perfect guy....why can't we manufacture them like that in reality? ( Swooning here)
I really enjoyed reading this book and I appreciated the minimally sprinkled spice.
How else do you keep from wanting right?
So, if you're looking for a Pg leave it to your imagination kind of romance story this one's for you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to Netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is such a cute, fluffy romcom I fell in love with it instantly. It's book two in a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

Cassidy owns a construction company and loves to rehab and restore vintage homes. She has social media accounts where she shares videos of her projects with a handful of fellow restorers who help each other out. Jack is a big time Hollywood star. His assistant sends out a goofy message that's an inside joke with his sister, but tags Cassidy instead of Jack's sister. Instantly Cassidy's social media accounts blow up and before long, the tabloids are on the story and paparazzi are stalking Cassidy in her tiny town in Maine. Determined to make things right, Jack travels to Maine to apologize, but only causes more of a media firestorm. Sensing a win-win scenario, his manager concocts a fake dating scheme that will keep Jack's career on track and boost Cassidy's business. What could possibly go wrong?

The main characters, Jack and Cassidy, are so likeable and well developed that you can't help but root for them. The best friend sidekicks are a hoot, and even Jack's PR and management team add depth and levity to the story. I love how independent and capable Cassidy is, taking the reigns of her father's construction business and kicking butt. Despite her youth, her ability to stand her ground when things are important to her is admirable.

Despite Jack's Hollywood success, he tries to keep his midwestern roots, especially after his career imploded a couple years ago with his drug and alcohol problems. He's got a fierce manager on his side who is determined to keep his career on track - even when he would rather give up. Jack is restless, but doesn't know why. Meeting Cassidy and seeing she and her friends interact is good for Jack. It makes him understand what is missing - a real, rather than a Hollywood, relationship. It was charming to see both characters get shy and awkward with each other, despite both of them having prior dating histories.

The way the tagging mishap occurred seemed pretty realistic. I mean, who hasn't accidentally tagged the wrong person in a social media post? Fortunately for most of us, it just hasn't blown up our life or the person we accidentally tagged. This book has humor, heart, and swoon-worthy leads. The book is a quick and easy read that will put a smile on your face. If you need a bit of an escape, I highly recommend you pick this one up.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC. All opinions are my own.

Firstly I am grateful to Entangled: Amara and NetGalley for my complimentary copy and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I had no idea who Marissa Clarke was going in but after I was done reading I wanted to send her a friend request, an email, and possibly wish upon a star that Michael B Jordan would also accidentally tag me *laugh out loud*. Accidentally Famous is perfect for fans who love a small town romance and fake dating which is pretty much me. This is a feel-good read that you will devour in a day because it’s that yummy. The book follows Jake a famous person (he is an action hero) and Cassidy James from a small town in Maine that does home remodeling. Their lives get turned upside down when Jack’s assistant accidentally tags Cassidy’s Instagram handle when she meant to tag his sister’s account with an inside joke from his movie with the caption “I’m coming for you, babe.”. This leads to the paparazzi losing it and of course her YouTube subscriber numbers going up. Jack’s manager has this crazy idea that they should ‘ fake date’ for two weeks because it’s PR but matters of the heart can’t be faked. It’s hard not to fall in love with Jack because he is swoon worthy and not corky *wink*. Absolutely recommend it if you are looking for a feel-good book.

Hollywood meets small town Maine. Cassidy, the local fixer upper gal is stunned when heartthrob celebrity Jack helps her with a misunderstanding.
Their relationship grows as the social media world invades every space of their lives.
Will it work or will the real world prove to be too invasive and obstructive for them?
I loved the setting and the fixer upper angle. I loved that Cassidy did most of the work herself, since that is an admirable trait I only wished I possessed.

Tell me who wouldn't love a book with a trope Fake Dating, small Town and Accidentally in love. This book has all the tropes I prefer to read. Completely enjoyed the book from the start to the end.

Jack - He's a famous Actor and I truly appreciate how much he carried for his sister. He's an affectionate uncle to his Niece and Nephew. I lost my heart to him each time he took Cassidy's side. The way he made her take him to the Harbour was so cute as we read.

Cassidy - The independent girl who loves her father so much. She lives in a small town minding her own business. And suddenly all of a sudden she's so famous. I'm so glad as she became famous and met Jack.

Even the supporting characters were amazing 🤩 Wanna no who's my favourite? Dee. She has my heart.

“Jack, thanks for…” For what? For coming to fix the mess the mis-tag had made of her life? For making her feel special and “lovely?” For giving her the best kiss ever? Yeah, all of that. But, instead, she settled for, “Thanks for the dance.”

I want to give a huge applause to the Author for writing a simple situation so beautiful. I felt as if the above scene was happening right in front of me and I was reading Cassidy's mind.

Highly recommend if you wanna read a book and feel good. Doesn't have much spicy moments but worth reading for the understanding of the main leads and their unsaid love but it is always expressed throughout the book.

Thank you for the ARC @netgalley and @maryl_marissac

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
SPICE: 🔥.5

Let's be honest: As much as we fantasize about being Chris Evans' significant other, how many of us are truly prepared and willing to deal with the obligations and hardships that role comes with?

That is the central question in Marissa Clarke's second installment of her Hideaway Harbor series.

Cassidy James loves her small-town life. A renovation specialist who dabbles a bit in the DIY end of YouTube, she enjoys her handiwork and the anonymity. That is until a mistake links her to Hollywood superhero Jack Winston.

No biggie, right? Surely, THE Jack Winston has people who can clarify this with the media and sweep it under the rug. Or so Cassidy thinks until the gorgeous star walks into her quiet little town with his entourage and paparazzi and asks her to be his fake girlfriend. Apparently, Mr. Winston is in a celebrity slump, and he and his team are hoping that this could be the spark he needs to resuscitate his excitement in what he does.

As with any fake dating trope, the more they spend together, the more they realize they connect. But will their two-week deadline be the end of their ruse and connection, or would they want something more knowing that they live in two different worlds?

I thought this was a cute read. As a casual HGTV watcher, I enjoyed the details infused to describe Cassidy's work. And Jack -- Jack is what we hope our celebrity crush would be: gorgeous, charming, and down-to-earth. He likes doing his job but is grounded enough to want other parts of life, such as family and love. Their chemistry is instant, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The lack of spice did leave me wanting more. After all, this is the perfect opportunity to put ourselves in Cassidy's shoes, so a little sexy times would have been *perfect* for our celebrity romance fantasies.

There is a little bit of a love triangle involved with the son of Cassidy's neighbor. While I appreciate the drama this brings to the story, tiny hints about Tristan the neighbor's son just leave him looking so lacking compared to the thoughtful and charismatic Jack.

This is the second book in the series, but it holds up as a standalone read. Characters from Book 1 do make an appearance, but Marissa Clarke does a great job of providing context to this book universe's newcomers.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Marissa Clarke, Entangled Publishing, and NetGalley for providing an ARC. **

Exhausted from his busy Hollywood life, A list superstar actor, Jack Winston decides to head to his sister’s house to visit with his niece and nephew and recharge his batteries. He tells his assistant to tag his sister with his famous character’s line, I’m coming for you, babe, on Instagram. When he returns, Jack finds out that she tagged quirky, funny Home renovator, Cassidy James, from the small town of blink, Maine in error. Jack decides that this might just work in his favor, so he heads to Blink to convince Cassie to fake date him for a few weeks. What he didn’t plan was to fall head over heels in love with someone who couldn’t possibly fit into his world.

I am over the moon happy to be back in Blink with these characters that feel like friends and family. Accidentally Famous is easy to read, sweet, romantic and funny. I couldn’t put it down and am so sad that it ended. As this is the second in the Hideaway Harbor series, it was great to check back in with the couple from book one, Caleb and Lillian, but you wouldn’t necessarily miss anything if you read this as a standalone.

After accidentally being tagged in a celebrity Instagram photo, social media blows up for Cassidy. Thing get even more complicated when she agrees to fake date a film star to try and resolve the mess, but what will happen when the feelings become too real?
I liked how it was told from both points of view and was rooting for them to work it out!

There is no sex in this book.
Now, let’s get to the review.

Small town and fake dating all the ingredients for a good story.
Jack is actor. Cassidy is a contractor & YouTuber. She accidentally gets tagged in one of his IG posts and the firestorm begins.
Her subscribers on your YouTube channel are going up by the thousands and she has know idea why because she doesn’t use IG. But his fans in these “innanet” streets wasted no time finding her.
Jacks team decides they can use this to his advantage especially since his manger wanted him to find another Hollywood A lister to be seen with. This small town vibe must just work . Enter the fake dating with a NDA included.
The story was lacking character development especially for Cassidy. I wish we could have seen more about who she is and what she looks like. There was no real romance or chemistry. There was one staged kiss then the next real kiss was at about 85%
You can’t even call it a slow burn because I couldn’t feel the chemistry. The story was good but the romance wasn't there. I recommend this book if you like a small town romance. It has all the small town vibes.
