I loved this book! It kept me on the edge of my seat! The family dynamics were real and the characters were relatable and well developed. I highly recommend you check it out!

Is it true that dark criminal minds are made thru DNA, experience, or surroundings? Sara Harmon has a fear that she has lived with her whole life. The only people that know about her dark past are her adoptive parents. When she married, her husband did not even know and did not understand why Sara did not want to have children. Sara seeing the goodness of her husband relented and they had their daughter Katie. Sara's life has never been easy and the death of her husband made it more difficult especially raising a daughter alone. She was always worried that her past would come knocking or someone would find out who she really was.

Her past came full throttle when her daughter Katie witnessed the death of her babysitter at a camp in the mountains. Katie had warned her to be careful and when she fell, Katie ran to get help. Sara is doing her best to find the truth of what happened with her daughter. Is it what she feared?

Many groups of characters in this one that connected the dots and brought it all together in a very cohesive plot. The detectives, the crime podcast, the writer that lost his sister to a murder. A vibe of anxiety all thru this because you were not quite sure where it was all going to end. I always like a good Rick Mofina thriller.

I thought the plot was very good. I find the writing to be a bit simplistic.

We hear stories of people getting to close to the edge when taking selfies and that's how this book begins. 8 year old Katie witnesses the whole thing. At first it is considered a tragic accident.

We meet Katie's mom who has a secret. We meet lots of people who have secrets. I am not a fan of vagueness and there is a lot of it through out the book. Granted, it does all come together with a satisfying ending, it's the getting there that was a struggle for me.

Will give feedback and my review when the HCP union gets a fair contract. Thank you so much for the book and can't wait to leave a review in the future.

A spooky small town mystery showing just how many secrets are hidden behind seemingly perfect facades. A good solid read to curl up with on a winter night!

I do love me a creepy kid story... I found this one particularly weird since I also have a nine-year-old daughter - although no serial killers anywhere in our background that any of us are aware of thank goodness!

Seriously though, this was an entertaining construct and if I think it played out a little ridiculously, it was no less entertaining for that. I felt that the parental anxiety, demonstrated by both Marjorie and Sara, resonated,very realistically and really kept the tension levels taut throughout the story. I did not find the 9-year-old's voice or actions to feel terribly realistic, but I often don't in these kind of books. I live with one every day and while I am more than happy to agree that they do vacillate at this age between acting very young and very old for their ages, a lot of Katie's words and actions felt like an adult trying to write as a child to me, which gave her a slightly off-kilter feel. While it worked alright on the end for this type of story, it felt disjointed at times and did occasionally result in an eye roll or cringe.

Still, suspension of disbelief is key in a lot of thrillers, especially domestic ones in my opinion, and I was more than happy to suspend disbelief here because Mofina did an excellent job telling a fast-paced, entertaining, just plausible enough to freak you out tale that I found engaging from the first pages. I read this one in a day and found it a delightful way to break from the reality of post-holiday stress and blizzard-induced anxiety!

This was my first read by this author and thanks to him I stayed up way too late on Christmas night (starting and finishing Eveything She Feared). Sara is full of love for her nine year old daughter Katie. But, she is also afraid that secrets from the past may mean that Katie has a dark side.
When Anna, Katie‘s babysitter is involved in a tragic accident( or was it), there’s only one witness who just so happens to be Katie and the detective thinks there’s more to the story then Katie is willing to reveal. Nature versus nurture. Are we born evil or do circumstances make us that way? A debate that might never have a definitive answer.
Turns out the past has a tight grip on the present and when everything is revealed,a very tragic story emerges. There were a few plot lines that didn’t seem to go anywhere and I didn’t think they were entirely necessary, but for the most part, I enjoy this clever game of whodunnit and why. I figured some of this one out but was totally wrong with some of my guesses.3.5 stars.

This book is confusing and the POV just adds to the confusion.

Usually Mofina writes great books, but this one just did not land for me at all.

My Review:
Wow!!!!! Gripping!!!!! Shocked!!!!! These are just a few words that I would use to describe this awesome book. This author is a new one for me. Like always I was hesitant to pick it up since you never know what to expect. I am so grateful that I did though. It was like opening up a great gift on Christmas morning. The excitement was definitely there. There are so many things I want to say about this book but let’s start off with that I enjoyed it very much. This book had everything I look for in a fantastic read. It had a variety of characters, a story line that kept me interested and of course my favorite a heart attack of an ending. I couldn’t have asked for a better read. On the flip side I do have to agree with some of the other reviews I read about this book with it starting off slow. To me this wasn’t a deterrent and I looked at it as a plus since I got to find out more information about everything and everyone in the book. I will definitely be reading more of this authors books and recommending it to everyone I know.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This does what I was hoping for from a suspense novel, it worked so well in the universe. I enjoyed every bit of the journey and getting to follow this world. The plot worked in the genre and I had enjoyed the way the characters were written. Rick Mofina had what I was looking for and was so well done. I'm excited to read what comes next from him.

Rick Mofina isn't a story teller--he is a "tale weaver." I have enjoyed a number of his books and they don't disappoint. He has the ability to move around in the story and just blend all the parts and characters together.

This book keeps you wanting to read more and more, and also not wishing it to end. That seems to be a characteristic of his writing..

I had come to a pretty good guess on who the bad guy was in this one at about 90% of the book, but it still didn't all come clear until the end.

Very good read, and looking forward to more!

"Everything She Feared" by Rick Mofina is by first by this author and it will definitely won't be my last.

This was a crazy book and I really enjoyed it! The premise of a bad seed child can be tricky but this was very well done.

It took me a bit to get into this book. There were lots of different stories going on that were a bit confusing. They finally made sense part way through. Is is possible to inherit evilness? Sara is afraid for her nine year old daughter. This question continues throughout the book. The book gripped me as I began to understand where it was heading and I couldn’t put it down till I finished.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. This talented author has written a cannot put down mystery. Red herrings kept me guessing. The characters are like like. This would make a great movie. What will happen next? I kept wondering. Spend an afternoon with the characters in this book of fiction that reads like nonfiction.

Anna, Katie’s babysitter, was taking a selfie and before anyone could notice, she fell to her death. Suddenly nine-year-old Katie is looking down at her body. Katie is suspected of pushing her off the ledge, but her mother and grandmother are known to have issues. It is expected that there are three generations of women who are emotionally challenged. As the death is investigated, it is believed that it was not an accident. There is a secret and law enforcement, podcasters, and journalists are getting involved. I love Rick Mofina’s mysteries. This one was suspenseful and well-written but the story did not flow as easy as the others with both the point of view of the author and the journalist.

A quality thriller with a good amount of twists and turns. I wasn't sure how it was going to end, which I appreciated.

Everything She Feared by Rick Mofina Slow start with alternating POVs and timelines which were confusing and did not make for an easy progression of the story. The last part of the book did ratchet up the tension and quickly summed up all the loose ends although it was a bit of a let down. Not a favorite from Mr. Morina.
