This was a riveting story! Grace unexpectedly comes home early from an evening business event to find another woman’s bra and then a trail of clothes in her house. She discovers her husband “in action” with another woman in a man cave of sorts that they had built in their backyard - or back garden, as this is a British story. She then proceeds to lock them in that cabin. I can’t say too much more without giving away some of the twists and turns in this short novel. I listened to the audiobook and the two narrators (for the male and female main characters) did a wonderful job: Eilidh Beaton and Matt Bates. The story is told in the first person so you really get into that person’s thoughts.
I did shake my head at the idea that the design of the cabin meant they couldn’t just unlock the door and walk out, but then there wouldn’t have been a story!
This is the first book by Daniel Hurst that I’ve read (listened to!) and I suspect it will not be the last.
Thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to an advance copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.
