Another bust for me. I really disliked the plot of this book. I mean stealing money from their employer? No thanks. Especially wrapped up in a Christmas book. Just a no from me. Thanks again Netgalley for the copy.

Robin and her band of merry women started stealing from The Nottingham hotel last holiday season when her niece’s medical bills became too much to bear. As this year’s holiday season approaches, Robin hopes to erase those bills for good, but there’s just one problem. Her scrooge of a boss is on to her little scheme, and he’s hired accounting firm Sterling Marian, LLP to find out what’s going on.

Uncovering the reason for The Nottingham’s recent financial woes will get Jake Marian’s boss of a mother off his back and secure his place as a partner of Sterling Marian, LLP. But when Jake is forced to share an office with the hotel’s events and excursions coordinator Robin, his task becomes more than he bargained for.

Unexpected sparks fly, and Robin and Jake learn there’s more to each other than meets the eye in this gender-swapped Robin Hood retelling with a modern-day, romcom twist, that’s sure to have you saying, “Fa La La” to love!

An enjoyable fun Christmas read that has all the warm, cozy feels to it. Sweet characters that I enjoyed throughout the book!

I was so excited to read this Christmas book as I was in the holiday spirit. It’s a modern-day take on Robin Hood (gender reversed) where the MC steals money to give for medical bills.

This book had so many negative reviews on Goodreads, which I completely understand why. It is an unrealistic romance and at times it was a bit dull. While I don’t think the situation was okay - our MC stealing from her employer - I still thought some moments were fun.

It was a super quick read, the writing style wasn’t the best but it had potential. At the end of the day, it was a fun quirky holiday romance.

The ending wasn’t the best and some parts of the book weren’t done correctly, but I personally still enjoyed the Christmas spirit it gave. At the time it was sorta enjoyable.

This book definitely won’t be for everyone, but if you’re okay with an unrealistic romance then I would suggest giving this a shot! It was quick and gave a nice story for the holiday season!

Cute short book….wasn’t really liking the story line of stealing money….I couldn’t forgive people for that no matter what the reason, plus the romance seemed dull.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this book.

This was a short, fast read, However, this story made no sense. I felt as if I was just thrown into the middle of the story. Just didn’t work for me.

Such a fun Christmas read. I highly recommend if you love a good rom com. It was quirky and fun. But embezzlement is not a fun plot point. It had some hits some misses.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. This has a great premise and I was hopeful it would be a great holiday read but it fell a little flat for me.

Unfortunately, this book was another case of an amazing premise that didn’t live up to its own expectations.

Fa La La is a holiday-themed, genderswapped Robin Hood retelling.
This book was fun although there were some darker moments.

Thank you for the ARC! I didn’t like this book. The writing feels immature. I liked that the book was short and to the point, but disliked how perfectly things wrapped up for the main character and felt zero love connection between the main characters. Christmas reads are usually corny which I enjoy but this one was just…not good.

Rating: 3⭐️/5

Robin and her friends/colleagues started stealing from ‘The Nottingham’ last holiday season to pay for her niece’s medical bills and as this holiday season approaches she hopes to clear up their debts but then there’s a problem. Her boss gets a hint of the happenings and brings in an accounting firm (Sterling Marian) to help find out what’s going on.

Jake gets called in to uncover the reason for the recent declination in the finances of The Nottingham. Hoping to become partner at Sterling Marian, Jake takes it upon himself to find out what is going on. But sharing an office with Robin makes it harder for him.

Fa La La was a quick read and although, it’s a Christmas themed romance book, I didn’t really get that feel when I was reading. Some things also felt so unrealistic but it was endurable.

I received this book through NetGalley, from Xpresso Book Tours, in exchange for an honest review. Thanks for the ARC!

I definitely didn’t like this book. It was boring for me. The book lacked romance. The story line was rushed, and I felt the characters didn’t have a deep connection. I didn’t feel any type of connection between characters at all

Firstly, thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read Fa La La by Michelle Cornish!

Unfortunately, this book didn’t live up to my expectations. I didn’t hate it by any means, but I just didn’t love it either.

The premise of this book sounds so cute and the plot is a great one. A sorta modern day, female Rodinhood kind of story. But it just fell flat for me.

I had a really hard time getting into it. I feel like the story was so rushed that a lot of detail, that could have made it so much better, was left out just to keep it short.

I don’t even know where Jake and Robin started to have feelings for each other. It was like one minute Robin didn’t like Jake, and avoided him at all costs and all of a sudden she’s in love. There wasn’t really any development to their relationship.

Honestly, I really wish I could have loved this book! There is so much potential for this to be an amazing story but as is, it just didn’t work for me.

This was a very fast read. I did enjoy the theme of this one, but it fell flat in a lot of areas. Robin works for the Nottingham Hotel and her along with her two friends are embezzling cash to give to Robin's brother for her niece's medical bills. Trouble comes when the hotel notices a decline in revenue and hires an accounting firm to look into it. Jake is the accountant looking into these issues and he finds more than what he bargained for. He falls for Robin as she does him all while he uncovers the truth in the on goings at the Nottingham Hotel. I feel like this one lacked in the romance between Robin and Jake. I never had a connection with either of them and felt like every part of this story was rushed. Maybe more detail, more of the story line, and character development would have made it better.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me this for my honest review.

Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the characters in this book. I did read the whole book, as I am not a fan of not finishing books, but was simply... Underwhelmed.

This was cute but there wasn’t much to it. The characters were kind of blah in my opinion, but there’s nothing necessarily wrong with it. It was a quick read for me and I loved the festive atmosphere, I just kept getting annoyed at the characters. I know there are a million and one holiday books to be reading so I’d probably put this one to the end of your list if you’re trying to prioritize!
