Sorry, I found the premise of this book totally unrelatable. I'm sure there's a market for it, hard for there not to be one, given how many people there are, but it's just not me. The book is otherwise well written.

A fun and entertaining read. Not very realistic but absolutely an escape read. Time travel is a favorite for me.
Many thanks to the author and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this.

I liked the idea of a time travel book, but this story was just 'blah' to me.

Jason Tryon is a 21st-century man, who finds himself in Venice 18th Century, where Casonova saves him. Jason does not speak Italian yet there is no communication breakdown. And as I read through this, I found Jason becoming a tiresome skirt chaser (being a dorky one at that).

I basically skimmed through this, as I don't like to leave a book left uncompleted. While I can see that there are some that will enjoy this, it wasn't just for me.

"Coach Me Casanova" was a sort of time travel/historical novel about a college guy who goes to Venice and ends up transported to the time of Casanova who tries to help the young man with developing romance skills. Although not my usual reading style, this one was a light romp through Venice of old, with Jason and Casanova, as well as a wide cast of other characters. It was humorous and a fun read, probably more so for younger adults. I could definitely see this one on screen or stage!

I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Couldn’t make my through this book completely…felt like a waste of time and a very silly stupid tale. Choppy writing, and the characters were just awful.

I was looking forward to reading this, but unfortunately was disappointed.

The book description sounded promising, but I felt the writing was choppy and somewhat disjointed, the storyline was not engaging, and the main character, Jason, wasn’t overly interesting.
Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book near as much as I had hoped for.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me a DRC for review purposes.

I thought I was going to love this based on the synopsis but it was just okay for me. The time travel trope seemed bun and of course, who can pass up a book based in Venice?!? But it felt more like a wattpad read or fanfiction than a novel. I wanted more from it.

Thank you for the ARC, NetGalley and the publishing team!

Coach Me Casanova is a silly time travel novel about a teen boy who struggles to get girls, until he falls back in time and meets the famous Casanova of 18th century Italy. Jason is really only interested in one thing, and when Casanova pulls him out of Venice's canals and becomes his mentor in the ways of seduction, he might finally get it.
This is a comedic novel that may not make the most sense, but is fun along the way. I enjoyed following Jason's escapades in love, and his interactions with Casanova, Guiseppe, Veronica, and the seer, Signora Zagaria.

Cute book about Casanova helping a hapless young man find love. Jason is brilliant in life, but not in love. He travels to Venice to try to find his perfect match. He gets hit on the head and travels back in time to have Casanova himself help him find amore. The story is a bit clichéd, but entertaining. If you are looking for a quick, campy read, this book is for you. I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

An interesting rom com. And based on the title it doesn’t seem like a rom com. I can’t say to much as I think this one it best to go into not knowing much. But just know it is a good rom com in which noting is as it meets the eye.

this was a fun little time travel story with an ending conducive to sequels.
Jason is a young man hoping to have some female interactions in his life. he and a friend head off to Europe, and he ends up back in Casanova's time, in Venice, and wants to learn from the master. hilarious antics ensue. good pace, plenty of action. my favourite was the landlady/fortune teller, and The Eye :)

Time travel and historical fiction are my jam, so I was excited to receive an ARC copy from NetGalley and Book Whisperer of Coach Me Casanova. It's a charming premise but you need to take a leap with the author that a 20th Century young America geek (Jason Tyron) with limited language skills could be welcomed into 18th century Venice and taken under the wing of Casanova. Descriptions of Boston and Venice are good, but the characters are too stereotyped for me. Jason falls in love (lust) every chapter with a new damsel, then drops her as soon as he gets her to favor him. That said, the (mis)adventures are entertaining, and Jason's attitude never fails. Might have enjoyed this in a shorter version, or as others have suggested as a TV series. Three stars for fun.

“Coach Me, Casanova” is a story of a young man, Jason Tryon, who travels to Italy with friends and winds up in 1735 Italy following a head injury sustained in a Venetian canal. His rescuer turns out to be the legendary Casanova and Jason attaches himself to the famous lover to learn how to romance women.

Jason does not speak Italian yet there is no communication breakdown. He is used to a modern American lifestyle and his one brief concern is the fact he has no cell phone to communicate with Casanova, never a concern for his traveling companions or returning to his family.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest voluntary review. The premise of this tale is too much of a stretch of imagination and the story is much too long.

I was able to read an arc of this story. The story is about a boy who has no game, he and his friend decide to go on a European trip before college starts up but our Mc finds himself falling into another century at the feet of none other than his idol cassanova. He begs cassanova to mentor him and teach him to be a ladies' man and schemes and meyhem ensue. While the basis of this book is fun and different and it was an interesting and easy read, I found it unbelievable. It was as if the characters in the book had strangers drop in from other centuries all the time and weren't bothered by the way he acted.

This was an interesting concept and a fun read. The descriptions of Venice are wonderful and took me right back to one of my favorite places. The conversations are witty and the characters are multiple and varied. There were laugh out loud moments in this one.

My rating started off as a 5 star right at the beginning of the book. The premise is very interesting. A college guy goes to Venice on a whim to take a break and ends up falling off a gondola. He is pulled from the water by a masked man who turns out to be Casanova and discovers he is back in the 18th century. What a lucky break! Maybe Casanova will teach him all his secrets to getting women. Well the idea is cute but the execution of the story is laborious. Of course the kid is a klutz, doesn't understand life in 18th century Venice and has one mis-adventure after another. I stuck it out about 3/4 of the way through the book but finally gave up and skimmed the rest of it. I was really interested in seeing how the book ended but, well, maybe you need to see for yourself. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

What a cute story. I love Veronica she was an awesome character to Jason Tyron. Casanova was a quirky character. And Giuseppe was too funny. This band of characters were a great group to read and enjoy.

I really enjoyed this book!

I clicked on this Book Whisperer/NetGalley ARC offer because. . . well, Venice! And time travel!
This feels like a young adult story, very PG which is just fine. But this young man, an MIT student and nerd, was charmingly romantic and very clueless. The world-building after he finds himself in 18th century Venice, was limited. The women talk like 21st century valley girls. It was a series of quick vignettes without much plot or character development, definitely geared for a sequel. I lost interest when our hero, supposedly coming to a conference studying Venice water levels, was surprised at an acqua alta event.
Frothy and insubstantial, I give it 3 stars.

Once past the gross opening, this book was engaging, light, and traveled right along. Although it uses common tropes ( knock on the head brings one into time travel, etc.) and is very silly, I can’t fault it for keeping the action going. Jason and Federico are well drawn as young men/teens trying to find their way in the world. Another thing that was well done was the rendering of Boston. Having spent my university days there, it was very true to my memory. Not having been to Venice, I can’t comment on the truth of its depiction, but it was very vivid in my mind’s eye. The descriptions of Jason’s search , of course, are very sexist, so this is not the tale for you if you are looking for a current feminist perspective. Veronica also is playing into a stereotype, as is Jason dressing up as a woman just to get into the women’s prison, so there is no redemption there. 3/4 of the way through, Jason’s observations and schemes get wearying; it’s not that the author is writing badly about his plot, he seems to be very involved in carrying it along, but for the reader there ceases to be joy, plus it’s all a bit offensive. The ending does not quite resolve things as a romantic romp should.

So, if one is looking for a light, humorous, slightly “unwoke “ novel, this is fine, but I can’t give it top stars.

Coach Me Casanova – Serenades & Escapades by Roger Z Feuerman

Jason Tryon is unlucky in love, he travels to Venice in Italy hoping to turn his luck around. He then falls off a gondola while traveling to his hotel but when he is rescued from the water, he discovers himself in 1775 rescued by none other than the Giacoma Girolama Casanova. Jason asks Casanova to take him under his wing and teach him how to be more like him.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was easy and fun to read with lots of funny comments thru out. I liked how no one questioned Jason when he said he was from the 21st century or thought he was crazy but just accepted that what he said is true.

This is Roger Z Feuerman’s first novel but I look forward to reading more from him.

I would like to thank Net Galley and The Book Whisperer for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
