A gentle and sweet romantic fantasy set in a post apocalyptic world. It made me smile and root for the characters.
I liked the world building and the characters. The plot flows and the storytelling is good.
It's the first book i read by this author but i want to read other.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

This is an interesting book. The fantasy world was different. I enjoyed the way it was portrayed. The characters were a little off for me. The book couldn't decide if it wanted them to be teenagers or adults. One was a teacher, but came off more as a young teenager who still had a lot to learn. I did like the writing style, it did keep me very engaged.

This was a weird book.
I'm not sure even how to put it into words.

What I liked was the glowing wall and the whole idea that each year someone is chosen to go over that wall and meet someone from the other side. That's cool. I also liked that kite choose Manu in the line up because of his attitude.

What I didn't like was how Kite was meant to be 18 (and I'm second guessing that as I write). He was a community librarian and a teacher But he reads like a 16 year old boy. It made it confusing when I would be reminded he was younger.

The book was a weird read all together and I'm not sure if I liked it or not. I'm not really sure what I just read. But it is the first Christmas themed book I've read in a long while if ever.
