For a closed door romance this book was wildly swoonworthy! You immediately fell in love with the characters and it was so fun to see the story that started in When in Rome, continue. A fun easy read that you can’t help but smile at while reading!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House for access to an eARC in exchange for my honest review!!!
After falling deeply in love with When in Rome for not only the story and the beautiful way Sarah Adams wove her love of Audrey Hepburn into the book but for the incredible cast of characters that fill up the little own of Rome, Kentucky, I was *so* excited to dive into Practice Makes Perfect when I got my hands on it. Annie was one of my favorite characters in the first book for her relationship with her brother and the relationship she formed with Amelia when she came to Rome, and getting to see the world through her eyes for a while was so much fun, especially as we got to learn more about her struggles as the youngest sibling and her insecurities around the concept of finding love despite how desperate she was to fall in love in the hopes it would bring her closer to her very few memories of her parents.
The love story between Annie and Will was so fun and sweet and so, so hilarious to see play out. With her wanting so badly to find her happily ever after and Will so dead set against ever falling in love and watching each of them fumble with and around their growing feelings for one another was a real treat, especially with the healthy dose of the dating tutor trope thrown in on top. I can't wait for the next book Sarah Adams writes for the series and am so, so excited to see what happens to all of my favorite people from Rome, Kentucky next.

This story was sweet and cute. Annie was maybe a little too innocent for me but it definitely had it's moments. I loved when she went and got a tattoo. Her and Will were sweet.

This was a cute book for those that enjoy a sweet romance with quirky characters and a heartwarming story. I enjoyed how the family was around and the slow burn of the romance.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read this!
I’m DNFing this at 30% for the time being. I’m unsure if I’ll finish it or not. I think it’s cute, but I don’t care enough about the characters to continue it. It just feels ok.
My favorite aspect of this book though is how the female main character is awkward, dorky, and kind of a 80 year old trapped in a 20-30 year olds body. That made me feel seen.
But I also feel like I’ve read this exact story so many times by now so it feels boring to me. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I know a lot of people who adored this book though. And the cover is super cute !
I wouldn’t tell someone to not read it, but it’s not something I would think to recommend to someone, because it’s not jumping out at me.
I hope this was helpful in some way.
Thank you so much for allowing me to have an ARC of this!

I loved this second story set in Rome. The small town townspeople, the appearance of past characters and of course Will + Annie made this story so special.
Annie was a main character I think a lot of readers will relate too in one way or another.
Another wonderful closed door romance from Sarah Adams!!

Sarah Adams is, from the bottom of my heart, one of the most underrated authors of our age. She writes hit after hit after hit, and I'm so happy she's starting to get the notice her books warrant. Practice Makes Perfect was fun, flirty, and funny, AKA the perfect combo for a weekend read. Will Griffin has all the qualities I look for in a leading man (thoughtful, hot, covered in tattoos, anyone??), and his chemistry with Annie was enough to make me swoon and smile for hours on end. I loved the banter, I loved the plot, I loved the SIZZLE. Sarah Adams writes characters you can't help but fall in love with, and I'm so excited to see what she releases next. Must-read for anyone who's a fan of bad boy x sweet angel sunshine pairings that will have you giddy-rooting for them the whole way through!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Practice Makes Perfect. This book was absolutely beautiful and reaffirm my position in the Sarah Adams fandom.
Will and Annie are one of my favorite book couples ever. Will is a walking green flag and Annie is just the cutest. I would love to be her friend. I loved When in Rome but this one is even better.
Can we have a round of applause for Will, a man who communicates, is authentic, and wants Annie to be unapologetically herself?
Standing ovation!
5 stars!

This book was super cute for the most part but wasn't a total win for me. Part of this is my fault. I didn't realize this was the second book in the series and while they technically can be read standalone, I feel like I missed some of the character development and them getting to know each other first to make me really appreciate it. I also really dislike some of the tropes used in this book, which again, I didn't realize were part of the book. So for me wasn't a win HOWEVER, I think it was well written and that others who have read the first and appreciate these tropes would enjoy this immensely!
Things I liked: it was super cute with the small town vibes. I liked both of the characters well enough (with a few things I didn't) and liked the overall storyline. For a book with no spice, this story had EXCELLENT tension and banter.
Things I didn't: as I said, this is the second book and I felt like I missed the introduction of these characters and their interactions with each other. We just kind of bounce in here to them reuniting but don't get the elements of first being attracted and into the other character. Plus, Will is supposed to hate commitments and he very quickly seems to fall into the obsessed and wanting commitment territory. This didn't feel really genuine to me for his character, and I wonder if I had read the first if that would have helped more.
I'm also not a fan of the virgin trope, especially when it is the innocent-girl-breaks-free-from-label-and-people-finally-take-her-seriously type story. There were a few times I found Annie to be pretty immature, especially for someone almost 30.
Also, while I love a small town story, the hijinks in this small town were too much for me. The petition and her giving a speech to them at the end made my eyes roll. Again, others could totally eat it up, but it was too corny for me.
As always with a critical review, these are my personal opinions. This is not a negative reflection of the author or other readers who liked it. This book was just not for me, but I hope others are able to read and enjoy!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

There was barely a _pinch_ of spice in this novel! All the potential in the world, squandered. Really a little too twee for me, I think.

This was such a good, fun read and something different then the genre I usually read I really enjoyed it

We are back in Rome, Kentucky!! I enjoyed this one because it wasn’t just a romantic love story, but it was also a story about self-love and being true to yourself. I love this small town, I have said it before but I’ll say I it again, I wish it was real! I loved seeing beloved characters again. Such a fun read, and I wouldn’t be mad about seeing more stories unfold here.

All the love and all the stars for this utterly delightful read! Short chapters, alternating POVs, and incredible writing made this book a contender for my 2023 favorites list!

As always, Sarah Adams writes an adorable story. I love how sweet and real her romances feel. There is no spice in any of her books, but honestly she doesn't need it.

Sarah Adams NEVER misses! Each new book she writes becomes my favorite of hers.
Practice Makes Perfect follows When in Rome and takes place in Rome, Kentucky. I absolutely adored getting to know Noah's sister, Annie, even more, and really seeing their sibling dynamics.
We're also introduced to Will, Amelia's bodyguard, who--of course--doesn't like being in one place for too long. And relationships? Forget about it.
But Annie catches his eye from the very beginning, and he can't turn down her offer when she says she needs dating lessons. All Annie wants is to find her soulmate, but she hasn't had much luck in the past. She's hoping Will can discover what she's doing wrong.
And let me tell you: getting to see these two absolute sweethearts fall for each other was leg-kicking, squeal-inducing powdered-sugar sweet.
Read if you like:
+ pirates (IYKYK)
+ soft heroine x bad boy
+ dating lessons
+ closed door romance with steam
+ small town romance with meddling townspeople

This was absolutely freaking adorable - I love Sarah Adams’ writing so much. I was swooning over Annie and Will, and felt completely connected to both characters. I loved their banter, and how well they just got each other. And the town of Rome - dang I missed them, and the antics of the townspeople. I was laughing so much.

This is a compulsively readable romantic comedy with a little bit of fake dating and a lot of angst. Annie is the youngest of 3 sisters and the most inexperienced when it comes to relationships, namely physical affection. Her soon to be sister-in-law, Amelia, offers up her super smoking hot bodyguard as a practice date for Annie to get comfortable with dating and physical affection. The only problem is that both Annie and Will quickly realize that they like spending time together and it seems more real than either of them could have ever anticipated. Annie also finds herself along the way, and the ability to be assertive and come into her own unique personality with her family. Great story with fun characters and sweet romance.

Sarah Adams will forever be my go to author for giggles and pure fluffy romance. I always have a great time, and leave with a new couple to kick my feet over. I can’t express my love for her enough, this book once again delivered all the light hearted feels and an easy going story to just sit back and enjoy.

This was a fun, quick romance read that I really enjoyed. It was fun to return to Sarah's world and have an enjoyable time there. Such a cute read!

I’m a new fan of Sarah Adams, and absolutely loved this sweet small-town romance. Now I need to binge all of her backlist!
I paired the book with audiobook and found myself with a smile on my face the whole time I was reading and swooning.
