I saw this book and immediately requested it because my kids are huge Ben Clanton fans (my oldest learned to read on Narwhal and Jelly books and we are also huge fans of his character Rot!).

This book is ADORABLE. It is an interactive book, which is always a huge hit with my kids. Even though my 8 year old is reading longer chapter books, she still loves picture books and particularly books like this where the reader is invited into the story. I read it first with my 4 year old, who was engaged the entire time and the second we finished immediately asked to read it again. My kids both said this is a book they would like to own, so can’t wait to purchase a copy when it comes out in September and we will for sure request that our library purchases it, too!

I loved the illustrations, they are simple but eye catching. We really enjoyed the details in the pages that have you hunting for the main character, Ploof.

Five stars and we highly recommend!!

This is a very silly interactive story about a little cloud named Ploof, throughout the book there are different things for kids to do to interact with the book from guessing the shape Ploof turned into, to blowing on the page to puff Ploof back up its silly and gets them involved with the book.

Ploof is such a fun and interactive book! I loved all the activities in the book to keep kids engaged. If you’re a fan of the Press Me book, you will love this book. I will definitely be adding this to my kids library.

Thank you, Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to Penguin Random House Canada, Tundra Books and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy

Ploof is a friendly cloud full of feelings. This interactive book is written simply for young readers. It encourages the reader to engage with Ploof when they are sad, happy, lonely, shy, etc. A great book to encourage SEL work in younger readers. The illustrations are adorable! Especially the hide and seek at the end.

Ploof by Ben Clanton follows a little cloud through a series of actions. Perfect for children between the ages of two and four, Ploof is a quick and interactive read that will walk young children through emotions in a fun way with adorable illustrations that will brighten anyone's day!

Highly recommend this one for preschoolers and young children learning to socialize.

Ploof by Ben Clanton and Andy Chou Musser is an interactive book in the same vein as Herve Tullet's Press Me. It tells the story of a little cloud named Ploof and his adventures with the reader. This is a great book for reading out loud with attentive kids. And the illustrations are very cute.

Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC.

This interactive picture book would make for a very fun story time - for classrooms or bedtime. Ploof the cloud is very sweet and has emotions that readers will relate to like shyness, sadness, and excitement.

My only note is that the interactive elements (blow on Ploof, clap for Ploof, make a funny face) were all things that could be done sitting down with the exception of asking children to make a star shape - I'm not sure how the authors envisioned this being achieved because I struggled to make a star shape with my hands as an adult. If the other prompts in the book required activity like touching toes I would assume the star could be achieved by standing up and stretching out, but it feels strange to have only one prompt that has kids stand up and then sit right back down. I think it would make more sense for there to be more active prompts, or for the shape requested to be something easily achieved with fingers and arms like a circle or heart.

“Ploof” is a cute interactive story perfect for your young ones Pre-K to Gr. 1. The reader gets to play with Ploof throughout the story by clapping, shaking the book and even playing hide and seek! Throughout this play, the reader also gets to see Ploof go through a wide range of emotions and work through them. Simple but cute illustrations and a character that is sure to grab the readers attention.

I was given a free eARC copy of this book on NetGalley from Penguin Random House Canada in exchange for an honest review.

Ploof is looking to have some fun - read and play with a fun loving cloud!

I thought this was adorable - the illustrations were great, and I like the interactive aspect to the story. I can see lots of giggling, book shaking, wind blowing fun for young children in this book’s future!

I would have loved a few more pages of finding Ploof, but I think this will be a hit regardless.

"Ploof is the GREATEST little cloud EVER!" Aryanna, age 4. Ploof was an absolutely adorable, engaging, interactive book. We're big fans of 'Narval and Gelato' in our house, so I was very excited to get selected for this book by Ben Clanton. The illustrations are so charming. A must have for young readers/classrooms! Highly recommend.

From the creator of Narwhal comes a very cute interactive picture book. Ploof is a lonely little cloud. But once you open the book he is happy to see you. He likes to shape shift and play hide and seek with you, Little ones will love this adorable little cloud. It would be a great addition to any pre-k library.

A wonderful interactive picture book that contains all of the best things about interactive stories! This is perfect for fans of Hervé Tullet’s Press Here, the Who's in Your Book series by Tom Fletcher, and The Book With no Pictures by B.J. Novak. The simple illustrations are fantastic, and Ploof is an adorable little cloud that toddlers and young children will adore. Kids will have a blast clapping for Ploof, recognizing shapes and animals, making funny faces, counting to ten, and playing hide-and-seek, all while learning social-emotional skills as they help Ploof navigate their feelings. Ploof is an especially great interactive picture book for reading aloud to groups! Clanton and Musser have created a must-read book for daycare/preschool/early elementary libraries, home libraries, and storytime collections.

I can post this review to goodreads when the book is available there, and on Amazon/B&N.

Simply illustrated, this interactive picture book would be so much fun to read with a child. The reader is prompted with questions to answer or actions to complete, while taking them through a range of different emotions. It's a start to learning to recognize ways of addressing emotions, like cheering on a nervous Ploof or offering a silly face to cheer Ploof up.

Cute interactive title for fans of Press Here or The Book With No Pictures. Introduces basic math (counting to ten), shapes (star), and animals (homage to Clanton’s jelly, with a spread of others). Would caution readers on page on giving Ploof a hug, otherwise, a serviceable title for reading aloud with a younger group.
