This was a heartwarming and enjoyable beach read, full of likable characters, a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon.

Leah, Sadie and Emma are sisters who have become estranged from one another. However, all that may be about to change when the three arrive at the home of their deceased aunt. On the way to working out their relationship with each other, the sisters will also cope with their own life issues. These include aspects of their romantic lives and more. There are further complications when the inn itself is at risk.

These three spend their summer at The Heirloom Inn. Consider spending a part of your own summer with them as you read this women’s fiction title. It should appeal to fans of the genre.

Sisters reuniting over the summer, its a standard women's fiction trope but Olivia Miles does a great job with it. This book is filled with heart, hope, and romance. Loved it!

This story centres on 3 sisters who have to manage the death of their beloved aunt, coping with the aftermath of her estate, as well as their own struggles, both alone and with each other. I loved the relationships between the 3 sisters, which were threaded throughout the book in a fluent and interesting way. Each sister had their own, individual, story, which all had different themes and lessons to learn from. It had a lovely feel-good factor, particularly with the relationships within the town. The romance was believable, which meant I invested in the outcome, hoping for a particularly conclusion. The author built up the settings in a way which meant I could visualise the town and the house. At times, I got a bit frustrated with the characters reactions, particularly the younger sister but it was still a lovely read.

4.5/5 - The Heirloom Inn by Olivia Miles is a wonderful heartfelt story of three sisters coming back to their childhood home upon their aunt’s death. Estranged, torn apart by a betrayal, and holding grudges for fifteen years, Leah, Sadie, and Emma work together to renovate their home to become an inn. Each one dealing with their own secrets and internal struggles, reliving some of their most treasured and difficult memories. Leah, the oldest with two daughters, is divorcing her husband and has no clear view of her future. Sadie, the middle sister and the cause of the betrayal, is lost, with no home, no job, and no money. Emma, the youngest, never left their home; feeling trapped by her lack of choices. All three reunite when their Aunt Vivian dies leaves her large Victorian home to them. All three lives are upended and solutions are not easy to come by.

As Leah, Sadie and Emma tell the story in alternating chapters; through heartwarming and heartbreaking moments. Their story is filled with secrets, anger, angst, hurt, gossipers, small town happenings, family, friends and neighbors, dreams, first loves, unrequited love, romance and love. We get to know each of them and observe them let some of their walls down when they have a shared goal. We see their relationships with others and how they each dream their lives could be different. Sharing a common goal might be the impetuous to bring them together and make them a family once again.

Ms. Mason wrote a story of familial love, loss and heartache, this was a beautiful tribute to growing up, growing wiser, and having the courage to face yourself, forgiveness and hidden stories from the past about their aunt and their parents; weaving the tale through each of their points of view. I highly recommend The Heirloom Inn to other readers.

The Heirloom Inn is a story of reconnection, loss, family, and hope. Leah, Sadie, and Emma are sisters who grow apart due to something that happened 15 years ago. They have a forcible reunion when their Aunt Viv dies, and they have to come together to decide the future of their ancestral home.

The setting and the vibe of this book are perfect for summer. It's a perfect beach read and a good filler between heavy reads. I fell in love with the setting of the book. Characters not too much. I could not connect to any of them. It's almost like they don't have any choice, and so they are going along with the plan.

Having said that, it's a good story if you are in the mood of a small neighborhood family story. Thank you, Montlake, and Netgalley for this book.

A beautiful story about 3 sisters, 2 who haven’t connected in 15 years. This is a story of past hurts, hope for the future and some romance. The story line is great. The character development was done well. A very enjoyable read.

I have read several other books by Olivia Miles, and I have enjoyed them all. I enjoyed this one as much as the others!

After their aunt Viv passes away, it has been 15 years since the sisters have seen each other. Aunt Viv took them in when their mom passed away, raised them as her own. And in her passing left them their family home. Emma had stuck around, but Leah and Sadie had a huge falling out and they chose to live their lives outside of the small town. It was so sad to see that one huge mistake changed everything for this little family. This book is about forgiveness and moving on, the importance of family and also a coming of age in your mid 30’s, because its never too late, I also love the theme of second chance romance, and new romances. This book was soo sweet and a great read to start the summer. Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

After the aunt who raised them died, sisters Sadie and Leah return to Fog's Landing for the first time in 15 years. Their sister Emma, who stayed behind when they left, is mourning the loss of Aunt Viv, and conflicted about relationship in her life. Turns out Sadie and Leah are also hiding secrets of their own.

I feel like the rebuilding of the house serves as a metaphor for the rebuilding of the sisters' relationships with each other and people in their pasts. They are all convinced that both rebuilds would have been 100% supported by Aunt Viv.

I felt like this book was good, moved a bit slow and maybe dwelled too much on what drove Leah and Sadie apart. Sure, it was hurtful at the time, but Leah has since married and had two children, she probably should have moved past the resentment by now. Other than that, it was a good read and will be appreciated by anyone who enjoys small town stories, family drama and guys who look good and act like real men!

This book began slowly for me. I thought it was going to be all about three sisters complaining about each other and the perceived inequities of their personal situations. In a way it was, but the author wove their shared life histories and their individual experiences in a way that made the book, after the first couple of chapters, enjoyable and readable.

Leah, Sadie, and Emma are the sisters. They have been estranged for years, although I'm not sure why they are ALL estranged when it was only one of them that betrayed one other. Emma seems to be the peacemaker, Sadie the outsider, and Leah the traditionalist. None of them are as they are first perceived.

Coming back to bury their Aunt Viv, all of the sisters are left with the house that Emma has lived in almost her whole life. Will it be a millstone around their necks or a way to bring them closer together?

Very predictable plot in my opinion. Three women what are not attached to any man, with three men showing up that is just perfect for each woman. There are issues to work out, but very predictable.

No open door love scenes, only some chaste kisses...well some not so chaste! A nice novel that keeps your interest as soon as you get a bit invested in the women. Stay with it. It grows on you.

Olivia Miles is a new-to-me author, and I was intrigued about the Netgalley blurb about the three principle characters, 3 sisters, Emma, Leah and Sadie, who were primarily raised my their Aunt Viv in the quaint town of Fog's Landing, in Door County, ont he shores of Lake Michigan, after the loss of both of their parents. Aunt Viv has died, Emma was the only one of the sisters who stayed behind with Viv after her two sisters left the area. As women's fiction with a touch of romance goes, this was an enoyable, though slow-moving read for the most part, but I did have a hard time relating to the sisters, since I was raised as an only child.

The reason for the estrangement was a betrayal, Sadie was caught having sex with Leah's boyfriend, whom Leah has hoped to someday hoped to marry, and both young women left Fog's Landing as soon as possible, and didn't return, even to vivist Emma, for 15 years. Aunt Viv's will left her large Victorian home to the 3 sisters jointly, and once the sisters returned from Aunt Viv's funeral, they had to decide what to do with her house--it was Emma's home since childhood, but the other two sisters really had no plan to stay beyond taking care of the home, and selling, but in the lengthy period of time between arriving and deciding, and told in alternate narration by the 3 sisters, a lot is about to change for all of them, but will it be good, bad, or otherwise? You'll just have to read this novel to find out.

In short, this is a rather lengthy, slow moving, yet well-written novel about familial relationships, sisterly bonds, love, loss, forgiveness and reconciliation. It gets 4 stars from this reader.

The Heirloom Inn is about three estranged sisters who come back to bury the aunt that raised them after the death of their parents. Each sister has her own secret that she is keeping from the others. They very slowly work towards forgiveness and honesty with each other. There is a small romance in the story for each sister, but those really were side stories.

One of the most interesting parts of the book was the unknown story of the estrangement between the aunt and the girls' mother. It showed that history really does repeat itself sometimes and you need to heal the hurts between those you love before it's too late.

When Aunt Viv dies and three sisters are together again for the first time in fifteen years. Leah the oldest, has two children and is in the middle of a divorce. Sadie has been in NYC living paycheck to paycheck and has just been let go from her last relationship and job. Emma is the one that stayed taking care of Viv and working at a local inn. She has been pining for her best friend for four years. Each chapter is from the POV of one of the sisters. When they realize the house is mortgaged heavily by Viv they can either sell it or figure a way to work together to salvage the home they once shared.

This is a story of loss and reconnection. I was surprised how little I was moved by the individual stories of the sisters. And I correctly predicted by the half way point how everything would turn out. All of their lives felt a little sad and hollow to me. I wanted good cathartic moments to bring the sisters back to each other. They do work together but their choices seem more driven by a lack of anywhere else to be and potential love interests. And Leah reconnecting with her first love and the whole we were broken up vs. we were on a break, seems ridiculous as she is currently still married and in my mind not free to date at all. I connected to Sadie’s story the most but like her sisters there isn’t much depth as to what has kept her drifting and away for so long. I wanted to love the reuniting but instead felt sad for the wasted years. And as a minor point, I was disappointed that no one that the aunt lent money, one of the reasons the house is highly mortgaged, returned it. That told me this isn’t a community where I necessarily want to live.

This is an easily readable general (women’s) fiction and romance but I didn’t catch feelings for the characters. The story is clean with only a couple of kisses shared. I love the cover as it fits the story. Thank you to Montlake for the ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Aunt Viv has died and now Leah, Emma, and Sadie must resolve their differences. These sisters have lived very different lives but they overcome their estrangement- an estrangement which grew out of a misunderstanding. This is a good novel about family, betrayal, loss, love and a clean romance. It’s told in each of their point of view and the characters grow and develop at a decent pace. I thought it was a well written easy read. I look forward to reading more from this author.

An easy read and with plenty of emotions running through it. I enjoyed reading this. 4 stars and I suggest you read this for yourself.

DNF at 30%. I wanted to love this one as I really enjoy stories about sisters but this was just boring to me. I felt like nothing was happening and the direction of the story wasn’t clear enough for the amount of pages I’d read. Hopefully someone else enjoys it more!
