This book was so fun, so cute, made me laugh, and made me swoonโ€ฆ so basically has the perfect recipe for a romance I know I am going to love.

I love the celebrity with normal person trope and the small town setting was absolutely perfection! The banter between Jane and Nick was top notch and just so well done! I truly couldnโ€™t have asked for better banter and tension!

Thank you so much to Montlake for my ARC of this one!

I loved this book ๐Ÿ’•

It is definitely a slow burn but I loved every minute of Jane and Nickโ€™s story. From the awkward moments to the sweet moments to definitely in denial moments they cracked me up and adore them at the same time.

And the town and its people were hilarious/adorable. I want to be a part of that book club!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review.

When Hollywood comes to small-town Ohio, the scene is set for an unpredictable romance in a fun and flirty novel by Sariah Wilson, the bestselling author of The Chemistry of Love . The small town of Patience needs a financial boost. Temporary librarian and aspiring film-score composer Jane Wagnerโ€™s plan? Invite movie star Nick Haddon to the townโ€™s harvest festival and stand back for the tourist surge. No one thought heโ€™d say yesโ€•much less that heโ€™d bring a documentary crew to stream his visit. Given Nickโ€™s affinity for trouble, his reputation and films are tanking. Patience is the perfect stopover on a journey of self-improvement and his chance to put good karma out in the universe. Spending time with a sweet and lovely guide like Jane is a bonus. But Janeโ€™s heartbroken past keeps her on guard against men. Especially when theyโ€™re jinxed. The truth is, Janeโ€™s falling hard. But she canโ€™t ignore the differences between them. Heโ€™s famous. She isnโ€™t. Heโ€™s here for two weeks. This is her home. Where can it possibly lead? Sheโ€™ll see. Because day after blissful day, Nickโ€™s encouraging Jane to trust again and, best of all, to dream beyond Patience.

I am a sucker for these types of stories. This one did not disappoint at all. Loved it. Will recommend to others.

Trigger Warning: brief mentions of parent who suffered a heart attack and parent who cheated on their spouse

Jane Wagner had dreams of composing music for films, but her dreams were put on hold when she moved home to Patience, OH to help her parents. Now she's running the town's upcoming festival, which is about to be a huge tourist attraction thanks to actor Nick Haddon coming to town. Jane has been tasked with providing a place for him to stay and ensuring that he won't get into trouble. But she's completely caught off guard when she realizes how handsome and kind he is in person. And it seems Nick is captivated by Jane as well. Soon sparks fly between Jane and Nick in what seems to be a small town romance for the ages. But can these two put aside their past disappointments and open their hearts to one another?

Did I just neglect all of my responsibilities and read this in one day? Yes, I absolutely did. My cheeks hurt from smiling, because this was so stinking cute and adorable. The second half in particular was just so swoony and romantic, and the build-up towards that first kiss was the best kind of torture. Boy, was it worth the wait ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿฅต Now, I know this is pretty much an insta-love situation, but I don't care. Nick won me over with his cocky but charming personality and all the little things he did and said from the moment he met Jane. I may have even imagined Chris Evans in my mind while thinking about Nick (sorry Courtney ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰). Jane definitely had a lot of moments where she resisted her feelings and Nick's intentions, but I can cut her some slack because of her messed up relationship history and the fact that anyone would question the believability of a celebrity falling for them. I loved how she built him up later in the book just as much as he did for her. I also enjoyed that this had a small town setting without becoming a caricature of one. Honestly, this book just made me so happy, and the epilogue was the cherry on top. If you want something fun, light, and just sweet as sugar, then go give this a read!

When Jane Wagner needs help raising funds for her small town she makes a video with her sister in law inviting Hollywood movie star Nick Haddon to come to their town festival. Nick can't help but think that a little good karma might help his career from going up in flames, so he says yes.
A cute, and sweet small town romance. I love Sariah Wilson and immediately wanted to read this when I saw it was available. Looking forward to her next book!

This is a single point of view, closed door romcom. I think this is the first book I've read by Sariah Wilson.

I wasn't a fan of the instant attraction/love aspect of the story. All of the background given about Nick made me not trust him throughout the whole thing, especially due to the instant connection he makes with Jane. I could see this being a Hallmark type movie. I would enjoy it in that format. I just had trouble trusting the character in my mind.

It was an easy read though, and I did appreciate that. By the time I got to the parts I found more interesting, I had 15 percent left in the book.

I thank Netgalley for the advanced copy of the book, and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

In this upcoming release by Wilson, a Hollywood star comes to help promote a festival being held by a small town. The local librarian is in charge of the festival and also in keeping an eye on the star. She is also trying to guard her heart. He has made his intentions towards her very clear.

Swoon!! Every time I read a book by Wilson, I think it is my favorite book by her, but this now tops them all. Nick is perfection and Jane tries so hard to resist him. The banter, the ANGST, and the heat...This book had no sex scenes but it still makes your heart race with how much those two are attracted to each other.

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jane comes from the small town of Patience Ohio. Currently, the small town is struggling financially. Jane has stepped in to be the temporary Librarian of the town. Jane comes up with an idea of inviting movie star Nick Haddon to the townโ€™s Harvest Festival to hopefully bring some revenue to the town.

Shockingly, Nick said yes! He plans on having a film crew with him to film a documentary. Jane lets him stay at her house during this time. However, Nick claims that he is a jinx with everything he does from his family to his acting career. When he starts to fall in love with Jane you can see that he is trying very hard to make sure nothing could go wrong.

Nick is an absolute sweetheart. You could see that he genuinely enjoys the town and its people. The feeling of belonging seems to have been missing from his life and it was so nice to see that he got along so well with everyone.

This is such a fun small-town rom-com story! It will leave you with a smile on your face at the end.

The Hollywood Jinx was a very cute romance with a Hollywood celebrity visiting the small town of Patience, Ohio, to help out the local festival only to find himself enamored with the small town itself and the festival organizer. The romance was sweet and the banter with Nick and Jane was adorable. Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the chance to read this novel.

A sweet small town love story- sorta. Jane has come home to Ohio to help her mom and, as it turns out the town. She's discovered that the former mayor wrecked things. Is it genius to invite Nick Haddon, a big movie star, to the town Harvest Festival? Yes it is because not only does it help Nick's reputation and bring visitors, it also opens a new relationship for both Nick and Jane. Yes it's insta-love but it's also fun. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Made me smile.

Jane is trying to save her town, and a visit from superstar Nick seems like the answer. Except Nick is much more than Jane could ever have anticipated...

This is a sweet romance, but is very quick. The relationship didn't feel massively fleshed out, and everything got resolved very quickly. Good if you just want an easy read with a happy ever after!

The Hollywood Jinx should be a Hallmark movie!

Librarian Jane Wagner knew that her hometown of Patience, Ohio needed a miracle after the local government was shut down by hopefully raising enough money from the fall harvest festival. Maybe the miracle was having actor Nick Haddon visit the festival and hopefully sell more tickets but he needed to stay with Jane to keep him away from temptations.

Nick wanted to use his time in Patience to get rid of his reputation as a jinx and improve his karma and hopefully get a role in an upcoming movie that would change his career. But maybe being in Patience would change him personally when he couldnโ€™t get Jane out of his mind but getting her trust to him was going to be difficult.

I loved the relationship between Jane and Nick and all to the people in Patience because itโ€™s a town where everybody knows your family.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a sweet, & refreshing romcom. Nerdy girl-next-door meets Hollywood superstar in this adorable small town romance.

I liked the whole premise of the book. Along the romance, the sub-plot was quite interesting.

The romance was swoony, cheesy, charming, funny & romantic. I adored Jane & Nick together; what a great duo.

The small town of Patience needs a financial boost. Temporary librarian and aspiring film-score composer Jane Wagner invites movie star Nick Haddon to the town's festival. No one thinks he'll come, but he does!

Once again, like with other books from Sariah Wilson that I've read, the kiss did not come until much later, and boy was it worth the wait. Dang ๐Ÿฅต

I've always read about actors, scriptwriters, the crew, but never the composers of the scores. Such a unique occupation. And oh my goodness that epilogue ๐Ÿ˜ so beautiful ๐Ÿฅฐ

I will say it was a little underwhelming though, aside from the chemistry between the characters, but a wonderful story nonetheless.

Temporary town librarian Jane Wagner put together a video that goes viral inviting movie star Nick Haddon to come to their town festival. Much to her surprise he agrees to come to small town Patience, Ohio. She hopes he will bring in much needed attendance as the town is recovering from a mayor embezzlement scandal. His publicist has arranged for a film crew to provide social media posts boosting the actor is trying to improve his image. She also tasks Jane with keeping him out of trouble with drink, women etc.

Nick is actually a sweetheart. He believes his is cursed as he has already hit big success and it is hard trying to surpass his past. He is committed to being a better person and not the player/partier he once was. The story is told from Janeโ€™s POV and I wish we had a bit more from him. Janeโ€™s actions seem repetitive at times with her mooning over him and getting distracted when he is near. It makes her seem less mature than the person that is entrusted with the town festival.

This is cute and wholesome story for a poolside or deck of a cabin read. Likable characters but not a story Iโ€™ll remember for long. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This book had so much potential -- a cute premise, great characters, and a charming setting. And while a lot of that surfaced in the final product, I was underwhelmed. The plot is 90% an unsatisfactory will-they-won't-they which relies too heavily on unrealistic hangups. I wish the author had added more genuine conflict and character growth, which in turn would have provided some much-needed depth to the story

I don't know what it is about celebrity romance stories but I could read them all day every day.

Wilson's lastest work is a true delight for any fan of a good love story with some stakes.

Cute novel about a movie star who comes to a small town to help the town out during its festival. He has to stay with the young woman running the festival. It all works out in the end. Charming. Predictable.

overall three start, but four for romance.

I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and the small town nature of inevitably making a book that much more comforting.

But it, at the end of it all, fell a little short for me. I somehow didn't enjoy the plot was executed despite it having loads of potential.
