Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I absolutely love Jill Shalvis and was so excited to read this that I turned down a dinner out with a friend to sit on my couch! :) This book is everything you want - sweet, touching, funny and great subject matter. I was really sad to finish it and now I have to wait another year until her next book comes out.

The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis is such a great book. I really loved the small town community and the woman starting a bakery. The romance was perfect, too. I think the runaway teenager Ivy was my favorite part. This book was filled with so much hope and healing that came out of very real hurts. I think readers of women’s fiction will absolutely love this book. I really enjoyed it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis is the fourth novel in her Sunrise Cove series. When Harper’s life falls apart—she moves to Lake Tahoe to open up a bakery and immediately crosses paths with grumpy and closed off Bodie Campbell and a teenager with secrets named Ivy. In this novel, Shalvis blends the complexities of all different types of relationships into a well-plotted and interested romance and heartfelt story. Readers will love the growth of all of the characters and swoon over the romance. The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis is beautiful continuation of the Sunrise Cove series that will keep readers coming back for more.

What a heart hug of a book! I'm a sucker for romances like this that are set in a cute little town, with lovable characters, and of course, amazing dogs as characters too! This one gave me all the feels, and Bodie was super swoon worthy! It also made me want all the baked goods, since Harper owns a bakery, so be ready for that! Jill Shalvis does not disappoint with this one.

Jill Shalvis creates the nicest small towns with quirky, but likable characters. The characters all have "issues", but who doesn't? Without them the book would be boring. All the stories in this series are stand alones.

Since her mothes died when she was 12 years old, Harper has not had anyone in her life who she felt she could trust not to hurt her. Her father let her down, then her boyfriend and all their common friends. Trying to restart her life, she packs up and moves to Sunrise Cove, the last place she remembers being happy because she was with her mother, to open a bakery. Baking makes her happy and her baked goods make everyone who eats them happy. There she takes in a runaway, Ivy, who has the same trust issues.

In contrast there are her landlords, the Campbell family, a large loving family. Brodie, despite his rugged appearance is battered on the outside and inside, physically and mentally from guilt from his days as a ATF agent. Harper makes him happy, but Ivy has a secret that could blow up their lives, or bring them closer together. The only thing that didn't ring true to me, is that Harper makes a friend of everyone she meets, so why did she not have any friends before?

I read an ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.com. this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I have found that all the books I have read by this author are heartwarming, entertaining reads that tend to have the great endings and this book was no different. The characters in this book are well drawn. The writing style has me live vicariously through them.

Another hit from Jill Shalvis.

Ms. Shalvis has a talent for combining humor and drama into novels that I can’t put down. Her characters are well developed and realistic. I find myself wiping away tears . . . sometimes from laughter, sometimes from a very emotional scene. Her books are always entertaining.

After Harper worked to put her boyfriend/almost-fiancé through law school, the cad dumped her. Harper decides it is time to move back to the last place she was happy, before she lost her mother to cancer, and follow her dream of starting her own bakery. She has to deal with her grumpy sexy landlord. She takes a teenage runaway under her wing. Ivy, the teenager, has a secret that . . . Well, I don’t want to spoil the story . . . But, it is a doozie!

I enjoyed The Sweetheart List and recommend it to anyone who loves a good contemporary romance with an interesting twist. You won’t be disappointed.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this sweet story! I haven’t read any others in the series but this book definitely made me want to check them out! The story is well written and I really enjoyed the humor interspersed throughout. There are parts that are really unpredictable and focus on hard subjects, but there was nothing I personally found offensive. I would definitely recommend to anyone who like romantic comedies and heartfelt stories!

This was a sweet book about a woman, Harper, who is moving away to a place she used to go in her childhood for a fresh start. She starts over in this town and meets new people and is she able to create a new life for herself or will she up and leave being scared of what’s to come?

The Sweetheart List is another great addition to the Sunrise Cove series! Harper Shaw is a woman on a mission. She is all about finding the joy in her life. She has left her previous job as a baker in southern California and has made the decision to start fresh in the last place that she was truly happy. So she has rented a shop and is opening her own bakery on her own terms. She's done with trying to make others happy, done with lists and most importantly, done with men! Well fate is laughing in Harper's face because on her first night in town she bumps into local Bodie Campbell. She may not want anything to do with him but not only does he have a business right near hers but his family is also her landlord! Adding to Harper's welcome to town is a homeless teenager. Ivy has been sleeping in this vacant store since she arrived in Sunrise Cove. Ivy also has a mission and keeps her thoughts and feelings held close. The Sweetheart List was a great woman's fiction book that also contains elements of contemporary romance. Bodie, Harper and Ivy are all internally searching for something and if they are all brave enough they can find it in Sunrise Cove. It was told from multiple points of view (which I love) and was very sweet with just a touch of heat.

4.5 out of 5.

I think Harper, Brodie, and Ivy are my fave characters of this series so far and I’ve loved pretty much everyone so far. Jill Shalvis is def an auto-buy-must-read author for me and I just resolved to have every one of her books my shelf. I’ve yet to read a book of hers I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. I can’t wait for the next installment in the Sunset Cove series.

4 stars. It has been awhile, since I read/listened to a Jill Shalvis. I forgot how much I liked her books! And no, it wasn't for the sex! At this point in life, the story is more important, as is the romance, I can do without the sex, but it wasn't as much as I remember as in some of her books, but then I fast-forwarded through the sex scenes.

Harper is ready to move forward, to say no to the areas of her life that don’t make sense and yes to new adventures. After packing up her car and driving to Lake Tahoe, where she acquired space to use for a bakery and coffee shop, she finds herself facing unexpected challenges which threaten to derail her plans. However, Harper also meets and befriends her landlord and his brothers, other tenants, and a runaway who steals her heart. At the end of the day, Harper knows she found her new home.

I enjoyed the story’s pacing and plot, which include a semi slow burn between Harper and Brodie, one of the brothers she rents from. They have a good chemistry despite both being in a ‘no relationship space.’ I liked the few twists the story introduces, as well as the rapport in Brodie’s family. Overall, The Sweetheart List will be a pleasant read on a stormy afternoon or any time you want to disappear for a few hours.

I received a copy of this book from Net galley and have written a s objective review,

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. We open with Harper leaving her old life behind to start fresh in Lake Tahoe, the last place she truly felt happy. We are immediately introduced to Bodie who will be her new landlord and becomes her love interest. While this is a strong and well written story for the most part, I feel as though the story's focus switched away from the promise in the synopsis. Harper is definitely a lead character in this book, but the plot quickly becomes about Ivy (a teen introduced early on) and Bodie's connection with each other. Harper's journey seems to take more of a backseat until the end when it seems the author decided to hurry and resolve all threads with surrounding characters and then get in a quick fix for Harper. I didn't think there was enough with Harper, her bakery, her relationships, etc. Again- a very solid book, I did like it- I just didn't think it matched the synopsis and I didn't vibe with it the way I have with previous Jill Shalvis books.
