I really loved the characters in this book. Right away I was drawn to Harper and her independence. The flirtation between her and Bodie was so good. I loved that fun writing. Then adding in the plot about a teenage runaway coming into their lives made it more interesting. The book did a good balance between a love story and a secondary drama.

One of my favorite Shalvis books! Harper is starting over in Sunrise Cove. She ends up befriending the Campbell crew, including Bodie, home after an injury on the job as an ATF agent. Romance and comedy abound in this heartwarming romance. In the middle of this, they take in a teen runaway with a big secret. Everything combines into one fantastic story!

Changing direction to make a new life is never easy, but Harper is determined. Tahoe is beckoning, the only place where she’s ever truly happy. In Tahoe, Harper has leased space where she plans to open a bakery. Complicating matters is her moody landlord, Bodie, and a runaway teenage girl, Ivy. Ivy has her own secret reasons for coming to Tahoe. Harper ends up inviting Ivy to stay with her and invited Ivy to help in the bakery. As Harper gets her bakery ready to open and meets more of her neighbors, she realizes that she’s beginning to fit in and is happier than she’s been in a very long time. And then, of course, there’s Bodie. Handsome, kind, caring. Harper’s last relationship ended badly, and she’s reluctant to let her guard down about the possibility of a new relationship.

I loved Harper’s spunk and determination to succeed, and her empathy and trust in Ivy. But, secrets have a way of exploding open, and Harper is left to wonder if things will ever be right again.

💭Thoughts:
This is a sweet, clean, small town romance. It’s the fourth book in the Sunrise Cove series. I really enjoyed the first two books, so I was excited to read this one too. It can be read as a stand-alone.

I really enjoyed the characters in this book. The budding romance between Harper and Bodie was sweet. I enjoyed the additions of runaway Ivy and Ham the dog. The dog definitely added some comic relief to the story.

My one real issue with this book was the third act breakup. I really dislike third act breakups. I feel like they never add anything to the story and in this case it definitely didn’t.

Overall, it’s another solid small town romance from Jill Shalvis. I recommend to readers who enjoy small town and grumpy/sunshine romances.

Harper needs a new start in the last place that brought her happiness. Bodie needs a fresh start in his small hometown.

This book is full of secret pasts, hurdles to climb, laugh out loud banter, steam scenes, and sweet- heartfelt screens. Everything I was looking for in a summer read.

This book is definitely one you can sit down and read right through to the end.

Book 4 of the Sunrise Cove series.
This is a series about finding yourself, second chances and discovering the true way you want to live your life. In this turn Harper knows it’s time for a second chance. She’s starting over, getting rid of whatever doesn’t bring her joy and is finally ready to open her bakery. There’s also a grumpy, handsome tavern owner, a runaway teen, secrets and friendships like family. This series is full of so much heart.

Huge thank you #avon and #NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

An adorable summer read. Took me 2 days to read, the relationships and the characters were almost “too good to be true”. I loved the banter between the Campbell brothers. Loved Shay and her abuela. It’s a feel good book and I found it an enjoyable read.

Sweet small-town romance. After reading the first 3 books in this series, i was looking forward to this book, the fourth in the series. It didn’t disappoint. Main characters Harper and Bodie find their way to their HEA. Jill Shalvis writes well-rounded, likable characters. Loved the town and the Epilogue.

I'd like to thank Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It has the feelings of a summer beach read. It is a sweet, feel-good romance set in a small town.

Harper looking for a fresh start in a place that she remembers brining her joy moves to Sunrise Cove to restart her life. Ivy looking for her family she didn't know about until recently and a place to belong. Bodie looking for happiness, even though he won't admit it, find each other. I loved how the characters found each other and watching their relationships grow.

This book is a keeper! Full of fascinating characters and a realistic plot. I was sorry when it ended. Bodie and Harper are perfect for each other and Ivy was so believable I wanted to take her in and adopt her myself. The entire Campbell family is a noisy, rambunctious mess and I loved them all. I plan on looking for more of this author’s books as she writes so well and so true to life. Even the dialogue is terrific, whether it be funny or serious.

I received an ARC for this novel but my opinions are my own.

In the Sweetheart List, Harper Shaw soon finds herself amidst having her dream and the unexpected; a sexy, grumpy Bodie Campbell, a new BFF including her fur baby, and finally, feels accomplished in a life well-chosen. , and when Ivy, a teenage runaway, another opportunity to help someone who needs her most, this feel-good story will have you routing right along. There are so many hallmark moments that resonate with the reader, including second chances and a new start.
The Sweetheart List is captivating from the moment we learn that Harper Shaw has left a toxic life behind her, to start anew after inheriting her late aunt’s estate. And with perfect timing, a new life begins…new career, new man, new BFF, and new chances. This was the first book I read by the author and look forward to reading more. Just stop it....This book got me all in my feels. Harper, Ivy, and Bodie were a pure chemical reaction made it heaven. The story progression and character growth was outstanding. There was a twist, that I should have seen, but didn't and I was so happy. Most stories have a predictable play out but this sent me on a little welcomed tailspin. This story made me feel good and wish I knew such genuine people. I connected with these characters and would 100% recommend this to others.

Harper is ready for a change, and she starts her new life in Lake Tahoe. She is determined to do what makes her happy now, and to fulfill her dream of opening a bakery. But when she gets to her new home, things do not come together as she thought they would. The weather is cold, the shop she has rented is not ready and the people are wary of newcomers. But Harper is not discouraged, she jumps in and begins to repair her shop, and start her new life. Her new shop begins to take shape, she meets new friends, and finds surprises along the way that touches her heart and the reader's.
A delightful book of new beginnings, new loves, and fulfilled dreams!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book.

The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis was an entertaining and sweet small town love story, with a lot of layers and man did I love those layers.

After her boyfriend dumped her, Harper decided once and for all she was going to make herself happy so she picked up her life, signed a sight unseen lease on a space for a bakery, put her dog, Ham, in her car, and headed to Sunrise Cove; the last place she remembered being happy. What she didn’t expect was; snow in July, her bakery and apartment above it not to be ready and coming with some interesting inhabitants, a teenage runaway girl breaking in to sleep, or her landlord to spark something in her she doesn’t want to define.

From the moment Harper slid into Sunrise Cove, I loved her character and as her story evolved and I watched her befriend Ivy, who really needed someone on her side, I wanted to be her friend. She’s a good person with a good heart, but she’s also strong, fierce, and determined to make her dreams come true.

Then there is broody Bodie with a family who wants nothing more than for him to be the man they knew before he was hurt and left for dead, before his father died, and before he took everything on his shoulders. Normally Bodie wouldn’t give a damn if his new tenant wants to freeze staying in her new place without heating, but there’s something about Harper that made him want to help her, that needed to know she was safe. Add in the teenage runaway girl she took under her wing and he knew he was in trouble.

I adored Bodie and the fact that he cared way more than he let on in all things. He was dealing with a lot of guilt, with an injury that caused him pain daily, and with regrets he hadn’t quite gotten past. Yet, he loved his family fiercely even when they got on his nerves and it was easy to see that he’d do anything to protect those he cared about.

Jill Shalvis wrote and emotional and complicated story filled with intriguing characters that I’d love to meet. Friendships, family, and funny dialog plus a whole lot of love; The Sweetheart List is an excellent addition to this author’s body of work and one I know I’ll read again.
