Standalone romance. I really enjoyed this one.

Law student Grace meets porn star Carson while they are both attending a conference (separate ones, obviously!). One weekend of fun and spice and they will go their separate ways.

But of course, you know it's going to be much more. I loved following them both and watching this one play out.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks/Bloom for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book wasn't what I was expecting. But it was a good and overall decent read.

Blurb: Grace Hamilton is the girl with a plan. She knows exactly where her life is going, and prides herself on always achieving her goals. She's never stepped outside the lines she draws for herself, and never considered what her heart truly wants. That is, until him.

Carson Stinger doesn't play by any rules except his own. Working in the adult entertainment industry, he doesn't care what others think of his choices, and takes each day as it comes. No direction, no plan. He knows what women want from him, and in his eyes, it's all he has to offer…until her.

When unexpected circumstances force them together, Grace and Carson are swept up into the electric chemistry between them, surrendering to a steamy Las Vegas weekend in each other's arms. But for two people whose worlds could never coexist, they know their time is short. That is, until their hearts get involved without their permission.

After reading 2 other books by this author, I think that is is safe to say that I just do not jive well with her storylines or characters. I couldn't get into this story and therefore had to DNF it. Thank you for the opportunity.

This was a new to me author & this book won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this one. It was so different from the first page to the last! I liked our our MC’s seemed so different when they first met in Vegas for the weekend! Seeing as Carson is a male performer and Grace is a lawyer! These two have an instant connection and have very fun, sexy weekend! But things changed in the second half of the book! So much! I don’t want to spoil anything so just give it a read! Highly recommend!

This story is heartwarming, emotionally raw and has some great romantic moments! Mia Sheridan does it again and knocks this beautiful written story right out of the park!

Carson and Grace’s characters are perfectly written and their characters growth are both great strengths and effortlessly weaves a tale of two opposites colliding into one another that causes sparks to fly!

Mia Sheridan can truly keep me INVESTED. Stinger is a wild story, seperated into three parts, each of them having it's own energy and vibe. And I was there for all that Mia conveyed through these pages. Adult performer and a law student, what more do you need to rope you in?

I would like to thank Bloom Books, NetGalley and Mia Sheridan for the opportunity to review this book via an ARC. I was so excited to receive this book, as I had just finished reading "Archers Voice" and loved it! This one did not disappoint! From the meeting of the two main characters, Grace and Carson, in the hotel, I was hooked! Though this one was long (at 400+ pages) the story was interesting enough to keep my attention throughout. This story to me is a tale of what's meant to be will be, and how opposites attract. Grace operates with a plan and tends to take the safer route, while Carson is more unpredictable and impulsive. Though their love story was wrought with heartache, their eventual happy ending was beautiful!

Stinger was such a surprise story! It starts out with a random, chance meeting. "Good girl" Grace Hamilton is attending a Law Conference in Las Vegas. She literally bumps into Carson Stinger in the lobby of the hotel. Turns out the Law Convention is not the only one that is hosted in the hotel...

"Carson Stinger, Straight Male Performer, Adult Entertainment Expo."

When we first meet Carson Stinger, he is sexy, blunt and sex-on-a-stick! He is smooth and oh so sexy. But is that all he is? Is Carson only his profession?

Grace Hamilton is strait laced, organized and goal driven. She is very predictable and never sways off course. Grace has her life planned out and nothing will change that - except, maybe an unexpected run in with a porn star.

"Life is wild. Anything is possible."

Stinger will take you on a journey filled with lust, loneliness, self-acceptance and discovery. The course is not easy, the road not straight. The story develops into a great second-chance romance. It will have you rooting for Carson & Grace and laughing out loud. Of course there are lots of steamy moments as well.

Stinger is a great poolside read for the summer. Mia Sheridan writes such wonderful stories. I loved Stinger and will read whatever she writes!

Stinger by Mia Sheridan is a heartwarming and emotional love story that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. From the sizzling chemistry between Grace Hamilton, the determined law student, and Carson Stinger, the charismatic porn star, to the moments of love, angst, humor, and heartbreak, every page is infused with passion and authenticity.

Sheridan effortlessly weaves a tale of two completely opposite individuals who find themselves trapped in an elevator, igniting a tension that sparks their shared journey. What was supposed to be a no-strings-attached weekend turns into something much deeper, as they face tough choices and confront their deepest emotions. 'Stinger' explores the timeless theme of love and its power to overcome obstacles, making readers question the role of timing in relationships.

One of the book's greatest strengths lies in the personal growth of the characters. Grace learns to live life on her own terms and stand up for herself, while Carson evolves from a carefree porn star to a remarkable and compassionate man. The supporting cast adds depth and richness to the story, creating a vibrant tapestry of relationships and dynamics.

From start to finish, 'Stinger' had me completely engrossed, unable to put it down. Mia Sheridan's storytelling prowess shines through, creating a novel that will linger in your heart long after you turn the last page. If you're looking for a book that will make you laugh, cry, and ultimately believe in the power of love, then 'Stinger' is an absolute must-read."

Thank you to Netgalley and Bloom Books for an e-arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is somewhere between a 3.5-4. Would've been higher, but it had the insta love which is one of my least favourite tropes. But everything else about this book was so well done. Even with it being insta love, the romance didn't seemed forced and the rest of the plot was interesting.

This was an unexpected delight. When we have a character in sex work, I am always wary of the depiction. I think this one was done in a lovely way, and how a chance meeting changed both their lives. With it taking place over 5 years, it added an element of believability to the story that made it work really well for me. The sights in Vegas were fun as well. This one was a fun installment in Sheridan's catalog.

Mia Sheridan never disappoints. Another beautifully written story that tugs on my heart strings that I cannot put down. I loved the characters and stories and writing so much!

This book was...fine? It was fast paced, and I read it VERY quickly -- but I thought the plot, sans the Vegas one weekend stand, was weird. Like, I was not expecting the heavy content warnings around human trafficking, the military character arc, and the way that Grace went about going back to Carson after being in a relationship with someone (yes, basically she cheated.) It was a fun whirlwind for the first 50% of the book but then I was kind of just wanting it to be over once all the weird things starting coming to life.

Ih I loved this!! I loved Carson. Throughout the book, I went from swooning, to fanning myself, to almost crying, to flat-out squeeing, and sometimes to sitting there in utter shock with my jaw dropped at the reveals. Plus, the tropes in this were quite unique with an adult performer as a hero and the grumpy heroine.
Their romance turned this book into such a gorgeous heart-felt journey and that took me by surprise. Mia sheridan, never misses. I truly loved it!

While I do read a fair amount of romance, it tends to be a bit different than this book, which impacted my thoughts on this title. To be quite honest, the beginning of the book was a little ridiculous. A sex work convention and a lawyer convention? It just seemed poorly researched. And then there was a lot of shame around sex work which was problematic. People don't need to have traumatic pasts in order to get into sex work, they can just choose it as a career path because they want to. I guess this book was written a decade ago and is being republished or something, so I'm trying to cut the author some slack, but I would imagine this is a pretty insulting book for anyone in the sex work industry. Was this an entertaining book? At times, yes, but I would hesitate before recommending to anyone. There's better romance books out there, and definitely better sex work positive books out there. Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for this ARC.

Stinger by Mia Sheridan surprised me. It's a truly satisfying second-chance romance between two unlikely lovers. Grace meets Carson Stinger in Las Vegas. She's there attending a law conference; he's there for an adult film convention. Their instant attraction is undeniable, and they spend a life-changing few days together. But real life intrudes, and time and circumstances conspire against them. Fast forward a number of years and fate throws them in each other's path once again, and they get another chance.

This is a rerelease, originally published in 2013, but it's aged surprisingly well. It isn't perfect, but I really enjoyed it. It's rare for contemporary romances to deal candidly with the adult film industry--there are of course exceptions like Rosie Danan's The Roommate--so I appreciate that Sheridan didn't demonize OR sugarcoat it. I loved how both characters positively influenced each other, even though their initial love affair was brief--shifting the trajectory of both their lives. The third act was a little dramatic and felt a bit out of the blue, but it worked with the overall plot, allowing Grace and Carson to reconnect.

Thank you, Bloom Books, and Netgalley for my advance reader copy.

Mia Sheridan is a staple when it comes to amazing reads and Stinger lives up to the hype! This is a book that had me glued to its pages until I finished and the spicy level on it is so exquisite that it’ll have you blushing for a few chapters! Even though the story itself is heartbreaking, it leaves an imprint in you for a while. I thoroughly enjoyed Stinger and recommend it immensely, specially for fans of Sheridan’s previous books!

In comparison to Archer’s Voice, I’m stuck where to rate this. It probably falls between 3.5/3.75 stars but I’ll round up to 4 stars. I thought Grace and Carson’s connection/love was almost too instant but still I loved them so much. Let me just say, I HATE ELEVATORS! Carson I love you!!!!! Their trauma bonding got me. The first half was awesome but then the time jumps and the whole military plot (which I understand was necessary) threw me a bit. Honestly, no one should be telling a rape victim that they have to keep their baby, seriously I screamed at that!!!! and the cheating yikes Grace. But the second half and the plot twist with carson’s job- I enjoyed!

“Why do you call me buttercup?” I cried each time.
