From Badger to Worse follows super-spy Badgers Bongo and Marsha as they are sent to Bora Bora to uncover a theft ring. However, for this case they have to go old school without all the fancy gadgets and equipment as the agency is cracking down on their wasting resources. You simply will not beelieve what they uncover under the resort. This is a quick story full of delightful puns sure to give readers a good chuckle.

Thank you to @Netgalley, @JohnPatrickGreen, @ChristopherHastings, and @PatLewis for the ARC.

Another hilarious caper but this time we are saving the world with the B-team. This installation of the franchise takes us to the desert of Bora Bora.

Bongo and Marsha spend too much on their fancy gadgets and S.U.I.T. has had enough! They're shipped off to a resort in Bora Bora where the owners are hiding a master plan, and the B-team needs to solve this case the old-fashioned way. The hijinks and mystery-solving is unmatched as always in this hilarious adventure!

Well while the first book in this series (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5586372222#) acted like a gate-way drug for me to not only this but the main franchise, this first sequel wasn't nearly as great-seeming. Once again it's a full-on escapade with copious animal-based puns, where we start with literally no chance of even guessing what crime the heroes are there to solve – in this instance, a spread of thefts at a tropical resort, and oddly enough something about dodgy-tasting honey. But this time the quality didn't seem there as strongly. It's a lot more adult-proof – the puns-for-adults were certainly absent (perhaps apart from one darker beat about pets and farms), and the whole was a lot less logical, taking us here to there in quite scattershot fashion. It had a lot more in common with the generic, anything-will-do, young comic, which surprised me based on what I've seen of this author's recent efforts. I mean, it's not bad, and is probably fine for a quick disposable read for the target audience, but I had enthused about two books recently that were a lot better and bankable than that. And I'm certainly not about to start raving over this one...

With the InvestiGators off on another important mission, the B-team takes center stage in the latest installment of the InvestiGators/Agents of S.U.I.T series and they do not disappoint. Spy badger duo Marsha and Bongo are dispatched to a tropical island to solve a series of electronics burglaries. Chaos and mishaps ensue as the pair work to find the culprit. The bumbling of the B-team badgers as they investigate makes for a fun and wild ride. Full of the signature puns and colorful artwork featured in the rest of the series, From Badger to Worse! will be a big hit with InvestiGator fans.

Cilantro is off on a mission in space, the InvestiGators are in Antarctica, so the B team gets called in to see what is going on at a Bora Bora resort. Everything is oddly pineapple honey flavored and guests are reporting items missing. What is going on? And can the badgers solve the case without breaking the budget again?

Bongo and Martha aren’t my favorite S.U.I.T. agents, but this is still an entertaining mystery. I have to admit, I did not predict what was going on at the resort (and I doubt many reader ever would), it is very imaginative. Every once in a while we get updates on happenings in the old base under the cornfield that was found in the first Agents of S.U.I.T. book as well as teasers of what the InvestiGators are up to. Hand this to fans of both series who want to find out what the agents are up to now.

Notes on content [based on the dARC]:
Language: None
Sexual content: None
Violence: There’s an attempt to harm the agents 3x but the worst thing that happens is a bee sting.
Ethnic diversity: Human characters have a variety of skin tones, but most characters are animals.
LGBTQ+ content: None specified
Other: There’s a possible ghost encounter in one of the side plotlines, obviously to be explained more in a later book. The bad guys have a plan to end world hunger but their methods have issues.

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book in the InvestiGators: Agents of S.U.I.T series! With laugh out loud moments and conversations full of puns, this book is bound to entertain everyone that has come to love Mango and Brash in the first book and will fall in love with Bongo and Marsha also!

We really liked the B Team! Is it possible that these books just keep getting better? My son and I read this together and we really enjoyed it. Marsha and Bongo are just so fun. John Patrick Green has a way with words and writing the kind of humor that makes adults and kids both laugh out loud. They are full of delightfully funny puns. We really hope he keeps writing these for a long time.

My 9 year old has read most of the books in the InvestiGators and InvestiGators: Agents of S.U.I.T, series. When he found out I had a new one to review, he was psyched! We love the zany situations the characters get into. From Badger to Worse was another great book in a great series.

This book was a perfect addition to the investigators series! My 8 year old son read it and couldn’t put it down. He laughed a lot while reading it. The illustrations were phenomenal and kept him engaged. Bongo and Marsha are our super spy’s who have so much fun investigating the case. They are forced to do it the old fashioned way and wow so fun! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

InvestiGATORS: From Badger to Worse by John Patrick Green and Christopher Hastings is the newest in the graphic novel series. This book focuses on the badger agents of SUIT. My students already enjoy earlier books in the series and I know they will eagerly check out this one as well.

My 11 year old son really enjoyed this one. He loves this whole series and this one didn't disappoint. He loved the jokes and the characters. The storyline kept him entertained the whole time. The pictures were very well done too. He'd recommend. I'll be ordering this one for the library.

Marsha and Bongo are the Badger B-Team when the Investi-Gators are on another mission and Agent Chameleon is training new sheep recruits. The problem is that they waste a lot of the budget on equipment they destroy and make endless merchandise of themselves. As punishment, they're sent to Bora-Bora to investigate burglaries, with NO gadgets. Inspector Pacific, their liaison, is fairly frugal and has a simple setup while they go on a mission. Marsha and Bongo got all the inventions they needed from headquarters, but turns out the items stolen are electronics! And they get burgled next! Oops!

To complete their mission, the badgers need to balance their budget better, and learn what to do without fancy equipment. They also have to make sure S.U.I.T. doesn't find out about their mistake as well.

This comic gets me when it makes a joke about 2002 being more than twenty years ago. (OUCH!) We also see why Mango and Brash are considered the top-tier in the spying field: they consistently get results and think on their feet. Marsha and Bongo need to get an ego check, as well as evaluate their spelling if they think that "Budget" in cursive script spells "Badger".

This is how you do a spinoff. It's a new story, with wordplay and a strong pun game. And Inspector Pacific is a delight!

My five-year-old and I enjoyed reading parts of this but ultimately it was a bit old for him. I think it would be a good fit for elementary-age students and elementary school and public libraries. Kids who like humor and action/adventure, or silly characters might really enjoy this one!

Another fantastic story by John Patrick Green.

The focus on the new characters was so fun and I love what they are doing with this series. I can’t wait for it to come out so I can buy a copy for my seven year old. Green is his favorite author.

I had the pleasure of meeting John Patrick Green at an author event and he was kind enough to sign and dedicate my son's InvestiGators book and we got to take photos with Mango and Brash. This series is an automatic buy in my house and this latest book of the InvestiGators series is no exception. From scenes in the city to outer space, to the Antarctic, what better way. to nurture a love for reading than through funny stories, cool characters, and bright, vivid illustrations.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

From Badger to Worse was not my kids’ favourite in the series. It fell flat for them and they didn’t enjoy all of the puns. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review.

Thank you NetGalley and First Second Book for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I really do enjoy these stories and their puns! I love that the reference the previous books and mention the Gators as well!

I was hoping I would find out more about what's happening with Monocle and the Farm but I guess I'll have to wit to find out more. Bongo and Marsha are hilarious and this story line was very cute. I definitely look forward to more from the Gators and more Agents from S.U.I.T!

InvestiGators is a favourite series for students (and my own kids!), so it's great to see the spin off, Agents of SUIT, growing stronger with this Badger edition. It's a fun read full of humour, adventure, twists and turns. Great for fans of Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Bad Guys, or CatStronauts.

My students LOVE this series, so I had to jump on and grab the next installment so I could be ahead of them. A perfect story to help establish confidence in young readers, what with the artwork, ease of reading content, and the silly hijinks that happen in the story. The poor badgers are in trouble, yet still come out on top! John Patrick Green has done it again and will continue to keep my students engaged in fun reading, especially with the graphics! Thanks for the opportunity to review!
