Such a fantastic story. I have recommended this to many of my friends who love it just as much as I do. Epic characters and epic love story.

Such an interesting, unique, and atmospheric story. Truly like nothing I have ever read before. I was absorbed almost immediately and until the very end. Would recommend reading in the fall for optimal vibes.

Oh, this book is so sweet. It's a wonderful exploration of family, love, and choices. Honestly, I'll read anything Adrienne Young writes, so I expected to like this, but I really enjoyed this one. I also flew through it. I think it took me maybe three days to read because I didn't want to put it down. Some of the stuff with the timelines get a bit confusing at the end, but I think it still works. I'm going to be recommending this one for a while.

Wow...this incredible story kept my. mind working the entire time, trying to figure out how the pieces of the puzzle fit together. Magic Realism is not my go to genre, but this story kept me engaged and I couldn't put it down!

I was nervous about this one but I ended up absolutely loving it. This story made me cry at the end, which is indicative of a story I love. I will say, this is a time travel book so it had some plot holes, but the story was just so beautifully told and written that I was able to suspend my disbelief to enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this one!

The Unmaking of June Farrow is a tough one to review. The novel is intricately plotted, and without giving anything away, tough to describe. It centers on June Farrow, they last of the Farrow women, living in Jasper, North Carolina. It's a novel to lose yourself in, atmospheric, mysterious, and consuming.

Adrienne Young has done it again! I swear, I'd read her grocery list, that is how much of an auto buy author she is for me.
The characters are top notch, like her characters always are, the plot is a fantastic mix of magical realism and mystery, what more could you ask for? Young has this amazing skill of creating such a unique atmosphere with all of her books where you truly feel like you are inside that world. This was no exception, I truly felt like I was standing right there with June in her world.
I read this in one sitting, I could not get enough! I HIGHLY recommend both this book, and all other books by Adrienne Young to everyone!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Unmaking of June Farrow is a powerful and emotional read that will leave a lasting impact on its readers. It's a must-read for anyone interested in the story of a woman who endured heartbreak, fought for justice, and ultimately found her own path to healing.
The book's greatest strength lies in its refusal to paint Farrow as a victim. Instead, it portrays her as a complex individual with flaws and strengths, who ultimately chooses to find her own voice and fight for what she believes in. The narrative is balanced and fair, acknowledging the complexities of the situation without simplifying or sensationalizing the story.
I truly enjoyed the story and will recommend it to all of my fellow readers!

The Unmaking of June Farrow was a book that caught my eye and I couldn't wait till it was available. I previously read Young's Spells for Forgetting and was a little disappointed, so I hoped this book would help redeem itself. The book is beautifully written and I enjoyed solving the story's puzzle along with the characters. I was hoping for a little more elements of magic and fantasy but I found that the story leaned heavier on love and romance. As much as I enjoyed the book, I felt that it dragged a bit and therefore I gave it 3 stars.

Every once and a while, a book comes along and steals your heart.
The Unmaking of June Farrow is a heartbreaking and hopeful novel about how love can cross all boundaries, even time.

This is such a moving and just incredible story. I was so immersed in the book I never wanted it to end. Adrienne Young is a master storyteller and auto-buy author for me.
Thanks to the publisher for the advanced copy!

Absolutely loved this book! Incredible story telling with in depth characters. I totally wasn’t expecting the twist at the end but it made it a five stars for me!

I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity
It lives up to the hype

Adrienne Young books are my drug of choice and she has just dealt me my newest addiction. What did Young put in the pages of this book? Best book I’ve ever read. My new favorite. Automatic preorder on all Young books for life.

I had a great time reading The Unmaking of June Farrow! I found the story beautifully written and engaging. Now, do I totally understand what happened? Not really. Time travel hurts my brain! But I had a great time nevertheless.

I don't love time travel stories, but Adrienne Young can write the hell out of any novel and time travel is absolutely no exception. The Unmaking of June Farrow is gorgeous, well-written, and transformative.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House for an e-arc in exchange for my honest review!
4.5/5 stars
Wow I was so amazed by this book! From first reading the blurb I was so intrigued by the vague details that were given but were still able to draw me in so easily. I needed to find out what this mysterious curse was that affected everyone in June's bloodline.
This was my first book by Young and I could tell early on how well she can describe a scene in such great detail that I could picture everything but the details didn't overtake the whole story. This made my experience so great and the reading so smooth.
I also loved how this book felt like it was a mixture of a few of my favorite books and the best pieces of them. That made the story really enjoyable for me. The little murder mystery plot was such a fun addition that I wasn't expecting!
There were a few points where I found myself having trouble keeping up with things that were being explained throughout but overall it was a fun read!

This just didn’t hit for me. The pacing was excruciatingly slow. The characters lacked depth and the story just felt hollow. Granted I’ll give the author props, they’re a fantastic writer. Their writing is super visual and romantic but the plot, storyline and characters were unfortunately not interesting enough to keep me engaged.
June has almost no personality and never really asks questions/demands answers about what’s happening. I was getting so frustrated just at the fact that after she went through the door no one would tell her anything and kept everything a secret for absolutely no reason. Telling her what has happened would have made things easier for everyone.
The romance is this book is nonexistent. June and Eamon have no chemistry at all. In fact, June herself seems to lack any chemistry with any of the other characters. She’s unremarkable as a character who has something remarkable happen to her. And the time traveling just made no sense. I wish we could have gotten some back lore about the when the curse started for the Farrow women. But we get nothing.
The best way I can describe this book is it’s a pretty house but vacant on the inside.

Normally I’m pretty great at figuring out the twist or the “secret”, but this book managed to shock me multiple times throughout. I honestly didn’t expect the way it was wrapped up and though the time portions are a little confusing, they are also well explained. What makes it confusing is mostly that there’s SO MUCH to explain and work through. It’s very complicated, but in a good way.
This story is heartbreaking at times and incredibly heartwarming at others. It’s a story about identity and time bending and a family of women who quite literally did anything to help and protect each other. As someone who didn’t have a close and supportive family growing up, I was honestly a little skeptical meeting other Farrow women in other times. I kept expecting someone to betray the other or refuse help, but they stuck together and supported each other.
This book was amazing and I will and already have recommended this to others. I can see myself reading this again and again.
Some random notes from my reading:
- I was STRESSED at the beginning when I thought the running bath water wasn’t going to be mentioned again.
- Eamon gives off the same energy that the main love interest does in a dark, possessive romance….you know, without any of the toxicity
- This book never felt like a slog. Everything felt important and I was never impatient to get through a scene or conversation to hurry up and figure something out or to get to a more interesting bit

This was a stunning book. The writing was just gorgeous and mesmerizing. All the voices were so distinct and it was surprisingly easy to keep up with all that was going on. What a wonderful book.
