I loved the illustrations in Papa Can Fix It. They were bright and fun. What I didn’t like was the message that Papa can just about anything. Maybe I’m being picky but even my 5 year old grandson said that Papa can’t fix a magazine. I also didn’t like the message the the children weren’t going to throw a fit after breaking things because their Nana is the only one who can fix a broken heart.

Liam and Landen are full of energy and a little rough when they play. They break everything they touch. But it is never a problem because their granddad, Papa, can fix everything. Until Papa decides he has had enough….
This is a really fun book to read. The rhythm of the text conveys the energy and mischief and the pictures are great. I read it with my grandson who really engaged with it because his grandad fixes his broken things from time to time. The next day he dropped something, looked at me and said “no problem, Papa can fix it!”. The book had definitely passed the test.

The theme of this book is that boys will be boys and break things, but papa can fix it. Honestly, they should learn respect instead of having papa fix their problems. Nana fixes feelings. I would like to have seen the gender roles reversed.

"Papa Can Fix It" is a lovely story by Lee Alfred II, starring two lively African American brothers, Liam and Landen, who have a habit of breaking things. They think their grandpa, Papa, can fix everything until he shares an important lesson with them. It's a heartwarming tale that's perfect for young kids and fourth graders, with a beautiful message about family and love.

Just read this with my 8 year old and we loved it! We found it really funny because we ask our papa to fix things but he normally brakes it even more! We also thought it was funny that the boys broke everything they touched, a bit like the children in this house! An excellent story for any child that has a close relationship with their Papa, however I wouldn’t read this to the children in my classroom as could possibly be a bit sensitive for children who either don’t have a Papa or have lost a Papa.

This book is about two brothers who keep breaking things but it's okay, papa will fix it. I'm not sure the right message comes across for children, it seems to show that it's okay to treat toys, books and games badly as someone will fix it.

I love that this book starts off with how excited the kids are to see their grandparents. The illustrator captured the true love and excitement in the kids faces when their grandparents walk in the door. I feel like the rest of the book encourages kid to break their toys since it's okay that papa will just fix it for them every time. Then once Papa has had enough and the kids hearts are broken because of it here comes Nana to make it all better. I don't feel like any lesson was learned from this book other than it's ok to break toys and when you're upset you can't break them anymore Nana will coddle you.

"Papa can fix it!" Is about two highly energetic brothers who are joy to their family. Although they have quality fun , these boys tend to break their toys while playing. No worries! their Papa is here to fix their problem!
It is a delightful and a heart warming story that shows the beautiful relationship between the children and their grandparents. However, I am a little skeptical if the young readers grasp the concept but rather focus on the brothers' chaos.
Other than that, I love this book!

Papa Can Fix It is a cute story about brothers that love to be rough with all of their toys, pets, and other belongings. They know that if they break anything, their Papa will be at the rescue in no time to fix their destruction. In a few short pages (perfect for my 4-year-old attention span), the boys learn that not everything can be fixed and sometimes their actions will have consequences.

I loved the illustrations in the book! My favorite is when the kids paint their doggy green. Cue Taylor Swift singing “she stole his dog and died it key lime green.” 🎶

Thank you to NetGalley for this RC in exchange for my honest review.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own,

This is a children's book that follows two brothers Liam and Landen who absolutely enjoy breaking toys . The boys crashes their cars, paints their dog green and break board games. They break things and believe their Papa can fix anything. The book tackles responsibility, sibling love and how everything can not always be fixed.

This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well, even thought is very short I could really connect with the characters. I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was. I will definitely recommend! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy

This was so cute!! We don’t often find books with a nana and a papa (which is what we call my parents) and my 2.5 year old loved this about the book! She decided she had to call her papa and ask him to fix things after reading this!

This is a great book about love and family. Liam and Landen break everything but Papa comes to the rescue to fix what is broken. However, Papa cannot fix everything. The use of repetition will help hook young readers. I wish there was a little more to the ending. Otherwise, it was a great book that many can relate to.

The name got me on this one because that is the exact words I hear every time a toy is broken. Papa can fix it! I loved the family and the amount of diversity in this book. A cute read for children’s libraries or as a gift to a great Papa!

What a cute picture book with a wonderful message. I believe that it would keep the attention of any child and that they would want the story read to them over and over.

It's a good thing that Papa Can Fix It because Liam and Landon are super destructive lol
They seem to break every toy that they touch!! And as far as what Papa can't fix (hearts), it's really great that Nana can. This was a short book full of great full color illustrations. Thank you to Netgalley and Lee Alfred II for supplying me with a digital copy of Papa Can Fix It so that I could offen an honest review.

Liam and Landon’s first book, Papa Can Fix It! by Lee Alfred II is an adorable story about 2 kids who truly see Papa through a child’s eyes. Papa can fix anything, they believe. It is an endearing book full of onomatopoeias, which are always fun to read out loud. Beautiful illustrations add to an already fantastic book!

This debut picture book by Lee Alfred II tells the tale of his two active sons and their fantastic relationship with their grandparents. Liam and Landen are extremely hard on their toys, and they end up breaking quite a few of them. They do not get upset because they know that when their grandfather visits, the toys will be mended. No matter what breaks the boys know that “Papa can fix it!” Boys can be too rough on their toys, and eventually Grandpa becomes fed up and tells them that they are being too hard on their toys and that he can’t fix everything. They finally suffer the natural consequence of not taking care of their toys and begin to cry. When this happens, Nana walks in with a big hug to fix their broken hearts.

The story is written in catchy rhymes. The repetitive phrase “Papa can Fix it!” will have your child chanting along. Soon they will be joining in as you read aloud the onomatopoeia “Bang, Crash, Smash.” Illustrator Jenny Cabatuan has provided bright colorful cartoon like artwork that will engage young children. I imagine that children will love this book.

The book expresses the positive support that grandparents can provide, even when their behavior is less than perfect. Unfortunately, it also gives an unintended message. I am sure that the author’s children were actually just rambunctious. But in the book, they come off as intentionally destructive. “Every day at play, they love to Break toys.” The use of the word love means that they are breaking them on purpose. Painting the dog seems like a funny incident, but it can give children the wrong idea. Parents will need to be sure to point out that it is a very bad idea, and the dog could get sick. They also destroy something that does not belong to them. I know that the behavior may be exaggerated, but I would have punished the children for those last two actions. As a grandparent I would have reservations sharing this book. Whoever is reading this book to the children needs to use it as a springboard to discuss the behaviors. For this reason, I gave this charming book that would have otherwise received a rave review only a three-star rating. It would be a fun addition to the home library, but it is not a must read.

I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The expected publication date is May 10, 2023

It's not a story it's some sort of poetry and mischievous kids.
Poetry-wise it's acceptable, however as a story nope!

It's just a note for kids to know that their father can fix their toys while their grandmother can fix their hearts.

I didn't like it.
