Oh I just love everything Jill Shalvis writes and this was no exception! I loved the characters the how they all contained some depth to them. I adored the setting and found it to be very sweet. There is also a secondary romance that was wonderful.

Interesting story to have the main character be in charge of an animal rescue sanctuary. I found the characters to be believable in their interactions. But, way too much sultriness from the Luna and main guy, Jameson. I thought it detracted from the story with their boldness. The story itself and how to save (or not) the sanctuary was really good – it didn’t need the sexiness.

The friendship ups and downs between Luna and Willow were a highlight for me.

This is another good book from Jill Shalvis. The two main characters are Luna and Jameson. Luna runs a farm. Jameson is an accountant. The owner of the farm, who happens to be unknown grandfather of Luna’s, passes away. The whole farm wonders what will happen. Luna goes to the attorney to find out who the owner is, her grandfather and who owns the farm. Luna owns fifty percent and Jameson owns fifty percent. The farm has a big balloon payment in two months. Luna and Jameson start dating. They fall in love.

I *loved* The Bright Spot! I love the Sunrise Cove series! I love Jill Shalvis!!! This series, and honestly all of her books, are excellent relaxing summer reading. I absolutely adored Luna and the quirky cast of characters on the farm - literally could not have asked for a more entertaining bunch of characters! And oof, the romance! So so fun. Another raging success in my book!

Every time I read a Jill shalvis I know I am in for a sweet story. We’re following Luna and Jamison who have each inherited 50%of a farm. Luna has already worked and poured her heart and soul into and Jamison who’s a numbers guy. There’s a wonderful cast of characters that make up the farms found family.

Jill Shalvis has another hit on her hands with her latest in the Sunrise Cove series. The Bright Spot is a delightful story of family, friendship and choices. Luna Wright is the manager of Apple Ridge Farm, and the owner has recently passed away leaving 50% to her and the other 50% to his investment manager Jameson Hayes. They must work together to save the farm which is deeply in the red, and resist the chemistry that is brewing between the two of them.

In true Shalvis fashion she creates very likeable and flawed characters, a host of quirky secondary characters that are truly charming and funny, and a menagerie of rescued animals that have funny names and steal the show at times. Luna has trust issues and is very guarded with her heart. Somehow the crew of people that work at the farm are her adopted family and will do anything for her. They have each other’s back and are deeply invested in Luna’s personal life. Jameson came to the farm as a request from his boss Silas, to help Luna but ended up finding a family willing to adopt him as well. Now he has to find a way to have it all.

I loved this story. It was highly entertaining and an easy read. I found myself cheering for this group and for Luna and Jameson to work things out. The secondary story of Luna’s bestie, Willow and Shayne, also highlights what a couple goes through when they hit a bump in the road. Luna and Willow’s friendship is put to a test but it comes through with flying colors. The Bright Spot is both funny and endearing and shows what friendship and family can do together when they have a common cause.

Jill has always been my “go to” for small town romance and she did it again. I absolutely love her writing style. Once I pick up one of her books I don’t want to stop reading, start to finish. What I like about this series is you don’t have to read in order. They’re standalone. Phenomenal.

I don't know how she does it. I have been reading Jill Shalvis's books for years and each one has unique characters, flawed but endearing. They are people that you would like to be like, flaws and all, or be friends with. Engaging stories that draw you in, so you don't want to put them down, and are sad when you get to the end. Until the next one is released. This latest Sunrise Cove has no connection with the others, not even guest appearances from previous characters.

Luna Wright is the manager of Apple Ridge Farm. She was adopted at birth, but never fit in with her overachieving parents, but is very close to Stella her adoptive grandmother. Apple Ridge is a farm with orchards, flowers, a rescue barn gift shop and cafe. The employees are like family. Silas Wittman hired Luna at a time when she was floundering, but she has made the farm a wonderful place. Then suddenly Silas is dead and Luna finds out that he left her 50% of the farm, and by the way, he was her biological grandfather. He left the other have of the farm to Jameson Hayes, who he took under his wing when Jason was all alone at the age of 15. Silas had inherited the farm from his grandfather and wanted to return it to its glory days. Silas had also requested that Jameson give Luna all the help she needed. And she needs financial help now, because in his last year Silas had suffered dementia and had blown through all his fortune, leaving the farm with a large balloon payment, coming due soon. The book explores the wonderful relationships between the characters, how they manage their ups and downs, some conflicts and how a free spirit and money cruncher can build on their chemistry to realize that they each have strengths that compliment the others weaknesses.

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Sunset Cove. I loved the farm setting and Luna and Jameson, but I also really loved the wacky cast of side characters (and animals) that moved the story forward in a fast paced and entertaining way. I can’t wait to come back to this special corner of Lake Tahoe in the next installment. Jill Shalvis is truly a master at balancing the emotional journeys that are integral to women’s fiction with enough romance and heat to keep it tantalizing.

4 1/2 sweet stars. This is such a heartwarming story with extremely lovable quirky characters and the best bunch of equally quirky little farm animals around.
Luna and Jameson meet, clearly have chemistry, but then find out they are now partners. So off limits right? Well not so much. They work together along with the rest of Luna’s “family” to save the farm. It’s wonderful how they all put everything they have into making that happen. Love Luna and Jameson’s relationship especially how they grow together.
And of course, there aren’t too many things cuter than baby goats in PJs!

This book 😍😍😍😍 Luna loves managing her farm. Silas has been sent to make the farm profitable. Will these two be able to work together to make that happen?

I absolutely loved the main characters, the farm, and all the towns people and story line!

I haven't read other books in the Sunrise Cove series, but I really enjoyed THE BRIGHT SPOT, which works well as a stand-alone title. Luna is a terrific main character with her tough outer shell and her circle of found family and friends. Apple Ridge Farm is such a charming setting. The introduction of Jameson throws a wrench in things, and it's entertaining and charming to see how Luna finds her way forward. There's a cheerful comfort here; readers looking for escape are in luck.

The Bright Spot is the fifth book in Jill Shalvis’ heartwarming Sunrise Cove series. As with the other books in the series, The Bright Spot is set in the picturesque Lake Tahoe region and even though it’s part of a series, it works quite well as a standalone.

Luna Wright, adopted at birth, grew up knowing little about her biological family. She has created a home and family for herself at Apple Ridge Farm, the charming but struggling farm she has managed for years. When the crotchety owner Silas passes away suddenly, Luna is surprised to find that she has inherited one half of the farm. The other half is under the control of his investment manager, Jameson Hayes, who arrives unexpectedly to help Luna save the farm. Luna doesn’t trust him but is willing to do whatever it takes to save her beloved farm so she and Jameson begin to forge an uneasy alliance.

There’s so much to love about this book. Apple Ridge Farm is just the most perfect setting, filled with adorable rescue animals, including a baby goat named Dammit Ziggy who had me laughing from the very first page of the book. There’s also a quirky and lovable cast of secondary characters who all adore Luna and think she’s amazing, even when she doesn’t see it for herself. The found family vibes on this farm are everything!

I also just loved watching Luna find her way, especially after several big secrets Silas was keeping are discovered after his death and practically turn her life upside down. Jameson has some issues that he is working through as well so in many ways, the story is a journey of self-discovery for them both. I also enjoyed the two of them interacting. Once they get past those initial trust issues, it was lovely to watch them start to grow closer. I loved the easy banter between them and that they worked together so well as a team.

If you’re in the mood for a heartwarming story, you can’t go wrong with The Bright Spot!

Here is the second novel in this author’s Sunrise Cove series. It will be welcomed by readers of that first book and will be enjoyed by those new to the series as well. There will be more entries to come.

Shalvis writes stories that include good characters and storylines. They are perfect books to pick up for a bit of pleasant reading time.

Meet Luna. She has a tough outer shell. Luna was adopted and knows little about her birth family as the book opens. What will she discover? How will this changer her?

Luna has made her own circle of trusted people and they, along with some underdogs, are important to her. One of these people is her long time best friend Willow.

Luna runs a farm and a restaurant. The scenes set here take readers to a place that they will enjoy. It is not always easy for Luna, however, as there is a co-owner in Jameson. Will they find a way to work together and maybe a relationship ?

Watch as Luna figures out what she wants in life. Will she get her happy ending? Readers will hope so.

I generally find this author’s novels to be comfort reads. They are titles that I turn to when I need something that helps me to escape the world. Readers in need of this kind of novel will, I think, feel the same way.

The Bright Spot by Jill Shalvis is the 5th book in her wonderful Sunrise Cove series. We meet, Luna Wright, at the start, as she runs the Apple Ridge Farm, with a group of friends and animals; who each have their own areas on the farm to be in charge of; with a farm to café atmosphere. All of the secondary characters were great, and always loyal to Luna; Willow, Stella, Chef, Milo, etc; as all of her employee’s have become her family.

When the owner (Silas) of the farm, passes away suddenly, Luna is shocked to learn that she inherits 50% of the farm; as well as learning that Silas was secretly her grandfather (she never knew). Now she needs to meet the man who owns the other 50%.

Jameson Hayes, our hero, arrives the following morning to meet Luna; as he is a financial advisor, who will try to salvage any debts on the farm, reviewing all the books. Jameson is immediately attracted to Luna, but knows that the farm is in a dire financial situation, with Luna thinking she can fix things. Jamesson tries to find ways to cut things, but Luna is adamant to leave things as they are. Together they must learn to trust each other and find a way to save the farm.

I got a kick out of the cute animals, on the farm that Luna rescues, especially Dammit Ziggy, a baby goat, who in a short time loves Jameson. There are so many other cute animals, that made the story fun. I loved how Luna not only took care of the animals, but she made sure that all her employees were part of her found family, as she was totally loyal to all of them.

Both Luna and Jameson knew they needed to come up with various idea to save the farm. Jameson was smart and resourceful, always willing to listen to some ideas from Luna. They both learned to trust each other, not to mention their sexy romance escalating. I really loved Luna and Jameson together, as they had such great chemistry between them.

The Bright Spot was a sweet wonderful romance, with some angst, drama, family, fun banter, and laughter. The ending was great, as the whole family joined in to win the battle. The Bright Spot was so very well written by Jill Shalvis. If you love romance, look no further then Jill Shalvis.

This was my first book by this author and I unfortunately have to say, I wasn’t impressed despite wanting to be transported into the cover of this book.

I felt that the author used telling us how the characters were feeling and falling for each other instead of showing with actions and words made it less believable and harder to care for the characters.

It had a lot of potential but ultimately it let me down.

Give me a small town, found family book any day but no one does the found family trope better than Jill Shalvis. The romance was sweet but I loved the Sunrise Cove community surrounding Luna the most. Great banter and I loved the baby goat, DZ. 😍 And a rooster named Wyatt Chirp?! 😂

Jill Shalvis knows how to hit the right notes in her books, balancing characters you love, animals you will adore, and a storyline that will keep you glued to your reading spot, hating any minute away from it. Luna and Jameson are two people who deserve something good in their lives, especially someone to love them for who they are. DZ, the baby goat, steals the show and everyone’s heart. You will laugh and possibly shed a tear.
In THE BRIGHT SPOT, Shalvis returns us to Sunrise Cove, and we visit some areas we have been to before, but this one can stand alone if it is your first visit. Do visit and stay awhile! Each visit will have you wishing you lived there and Shalvis never disappoints!

Pretty good read. I liked Luna and Jameson. Wasn't a big fan of Willow for most of the book, but that changed. Loved Stella! What a hoot. Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy
