This a slow-burning thriller that gradually reveals its secrets, keeping you hooked from the start. The story unfolds methodically, drawing you into the mystery behind Caitlin's tragic fall. The author crafts a twist that adds a layer of intrigue to the story, though some parts feel repetitive. The plot gains momentum in the latter part of the book, delivering a satisfying conclusion.

Yooooo, this book was WILD!! Like what the actual f#%k. Kubica has such a way of making her thrillers super climatic. You cannot help but gasp at every reveal. This book opens up with a fast paced prologue to jump you into the story. Call this book Six Flags because you’re in for some crazy loops, high speed, and twisty bends! I would go into this neutral. I’ve seen mixed reviews; you either love it or hate it. I love Kubica so I’m definitely on the LOVED IT side Highly recommend!

She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica is a page turner that is sure to surprise the reader. A young woman arrives at the hospital in critical condition. She has a traumatic brain injury that has been caused by a fall from a bridge. Was this fall a suicide attempt, an accident, or perhaps an intentional push? The nurse taking care of the patient becomes friendly with her distraught parents who are by her bedside most days and nights. Something does not seem quite right. She’s Not Sorry is certainly a novel that will leave you thinking about what exactly is happening as the plot progresses. Is she really not sorry? Thank you to Mary Kubica, Park Row Books, and net galley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this novel.

3.5 but rounded to 4 stars!

Thank you Netgalley, Mary Kubica, and the publisher for an #ARC in return for an honest review!

Do you want to cozy up on the couch, grab your preferred drink of choice, and binge a novel? Well then this one is it!

Kubica does really well with domestic, twisty mysteries that have you second guessing everything and everyone around you.

A mystery that keeps you on your toes. Meghan is an experienced ICU nurse who is recently divorced and raising her daughter, Sienna. At work, Meghan is assigned to take care of a suicide patient who recently jumped off a bridge.... or did she? She usually try's to stay away from her patients personal business but for some reason, she cant seem to let go of this one. Twisty with psychological aspects. There were moments that made my skin crawl. Did I trust any of the characters? Heck no. Shocking elements and man, did I binge this once I got started. Since this is a bit of a slow paced mystery, you need to hold out about half way which can be hit or miss. If that is not your jam, then you might not enjoy this much. I don't think the slow burn aspect made this unenjoyable but it does make me pry my attention away sometimes.

So what didn't work for me?
To be honest, I guessed quite a few things, so that was a bummer. I didn't get the full affect but that's not a huge issue. I also thought this was a bit... too long. At times, there was description where it wasn't really needed. The ending was also a little too perfect for me.

Overall, yes I enjoyed this and would recommend! Shocking twists and a slow burn. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Read if you like:
- psychological aspects
- creepy settings
- twisty but a slow burn
- Nurse representation

Mary Kubica is one of the best thriller writers I have come across. I loved her story Local Woman Missing and Just the Nicest Couple. I knew I had to read She's Not Sorry as soon as I heard about it. Yet, again Kubica did not disappoint.

She's Not Sorry is a twisty psychological thriller that follows Meghan, single mom and ICU nurse. I was intrigued right away because I can relate to many of her struggles as a single mom. Kubica drew us in right away with the story of this patient in a coma and you wanting to know what happened to her. I really enjoyed the side characters in this story and their little mini-stories woven in. Kubica writes really deep characters with a lot of backstory, but written in a way that isn't overly wordy or cumbersome to read.

Kubica's ability to write twists and turns and shocking discoveries is next-level. I have never found an author that can truly throw me a curveball the way she can. I thought I knew what was happening as the book progressed and then I was completely blindsided when the truth came out. I literally gasped out loud when I read what was actually happening. I was able to guess earlier on who I thought was responsible for some things in the book, but it was no where near what I was thinking and I will never get over how good Kubica can always surprise me at the end of her novels.

If you love really twisty, psychological thrillers, then She's Not Sorry is definitely one you have to pick up. You will not guess the shocking revelations and they will keep you flipping the page as fast as you can! Mary Kubica has delivered another absolute must read!

She’s Not Sorry is a very, very, very slow burn thriller. The first half is more or less tension when the MC is walking home most days from work, knowing she may be unsafe. The opening chapter teases something significant happening, which is what kept me reading.

I almost gave up on this one but then SO MUCH HAPPENS in the second half. I’m torn on my rating because the twists in the second part were entertaining but man was it a long journey through the first half to get there.

Not a dull moment. Mary Kubica did a superb job of weaving different timelines. Everyone is a suspect. It had me thinking, “Maybe it is this person, no. it can’t be,” the major plot twist had me saying, “Wait, what?!”. This is a binge-able book; you will want to finish it in one sit. One thing that prevented me from giving the book five stars was the ending; the only predictable part that ended up happening added a little too much and ruined the book for me.

Thank you #NetGalley #HarlequinTradePublishing #MaryKubica #She'sNotSorry for the electronic copy.

This was a much slower burn than I'm used to, but once things started picking up - they PICKED UP! I really like how the book was written and all of the twists. I did guess one of them, but the book was still fantastic. Definitely recommend!

This was an amazing read. I lost track of time and could not put this book down. I was kept guessing on what was going on during most of the book.

3.5 ⭐️

This was my first read by Kubica and there was a lot I enjoyed about it. There were great moments of suspense and Kubica did a great job of building the sense of fear most all women have had walking alone at night and feeling vulnerable. Our main character is a nurse who is also a newly divorced mom of a teenage girl living in Chicago. She gets caught up in protecting an old high school friend from an abusive husband while also caring for a patient at work whose case becomes more and more complicated.

While I enjoyed the suspense and the main twist of the story, there were things that kept me from feeling fully immersed. Mainly, the actions of the main character are often hard to believe and seem to just serve the plot, and by they there are multiple plot points that make the story too busy. I’m all for great action and multiple plots coming together, but for me this one didn’t quite hold together. Even so, If you like thrillers with plot twists and some ambiguity at the end, this is an entertaining and bingeable read.

Another great novel by Mary Kubica. It starts off as a little bit of a slow burn but that doesn't mean it didn't keep my attention. The book is full of lots of twists and turns- some of which I guessed at least partially. There is a lot of suspense in the book and there are a few story lines going on that make you wonder what the connection is. Thank you to NetGalley and the the Publisher for an ARC.

Thanks to the publisher for the gifted e-copy.

She's Not Sorry is a twisty story about an ICU nurse single mom that is caring for a patient that jumped off a bridge in a. suicide attempt.

The more details that come out during this fairly slow burn, the twistier it gets, until about 3/4 through the book when you'll be like HOLY CRAP!!

The problem I had is that it had so many twists, it got a big out of control. There was one sub plot that had me rolling my eyes by the end of the book, and it was just too much. Other than that, I think it would have been 4 stars.

I need to check out her back list, as I think she's a talented writer. I think a lot of people will enjoy this one - it's a slow burn, but it's a fast read that will keep you guessing.

This was an interesting thriller. I went in with lower expectations and was pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me on my toes. If you are looking to be shocked I would recommend.

I love @marykubica and She’s Not Sorry was no exception. I loved the twists and turns in this one. So fun and enjoyable.

I did not figure this out so I had some great surprises. The characters were really interesting. I wouldn’t want to be friends with these people but reading about them was great! 😂

This is one I’d recommend adding to your list.

Mary Kubica is one of my favorite writers and has been since I read her debut novel, The Good Girl, when it first published. I’ve read every book she’s written and will continue to do so. My two favorites so far have been The Good Girl and Local Woman Missing which were page-turners. I was really hoping the same for She’s Not Sorry after seeing the raves on social media, but I didn’t love it as much as others did. I’m not someone who tries to be a detective while I’m reading a thriller, but I guessed one of the twists early in the book. I felt there were a lot of descriptions that could’ve been cut down (walking down the street). I’m hoping Mary’s next one hits it out of the ballpark like Local Woman Missing did.

Thank you to Park Row and HTP for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Such a twisty novel about the choices we make and what we have to live with because of those choices sometimes.

What worked for me:
- The characters were not likable for me but they were interesting enough that I was invested in what happened to them.
- 'enough intrigue to keep me reading and wanting to know what happened previously and what was going to happen
- fast-moving plot points
- kept me guessing

What didn't work for me:
- There were two different plot points (the story of the woman in the ICU and how she got there and the story of the man who was attaching women in the city) and it could have been two different books. I didn't feel it was necessary and it made it feel disconnected to me.

3.5 stars rounded up

Meghan is a nurse who finds herself somehow involved with a patient that was pushed from a bridge. All the while dealing with a teenage girl and a guy who is out there attacking females not to mention an old friend came back out of no where wanting to know a lot about Meghan.

Thank you NetGalley and Ms. Kubica for giving me the opportunity to review "She's Not Sorry." This is the first time that I have read a book by Ms. Kubica. "She's Not Sorry" is a good choice for fans of thrillers. The book hooks you in and makes it hard to put down. There was some repetitive themes like the main character's view of the world as a dangerous place. Having finished the novel,I understand why Ms. Kubica did this, but it can be a bit of a put off for the reader in the first half of the book. Overall, I would recommend this book for readers who like quick thrillers.
