Due to her family and her career as a lawyer Wren is considered part of the upper echelon in her hometown. She has been enjoying a casual relation with Jesse however her feelings for him run deeper and they drifted apart. With her uncle’s scandalous divorce, they now find themselves working together to ensure the completion of a construction project which will bring up unresolved feelings once again.

Jesse believed that Wren deserved more than he could offer her, so he distanced himself from her. Being that he is part of the management of the construction company that is affected by Wren’s uncle’s divorce it will have them spending time together once again. A little competition from a third party will force him to face his feelings for her and ensure that she realizes the only person she belongs with is him.

Witty banter, a little turmoil, great chemistry and all the feels will keep you entertained not only with their romance but with the rest of the townspeople as well.

This story was so much fun! I loved the characters. Especially Jesse. And Wren, even when I wanted to shake her, I was rooting for her. There's also just the right dose of angst. But for me it was the humor. I laughed until I had tears running.

I didn't realize this book was part of a series, so I read it as a stand alone and was able to follow the story with no issues. I loved the characters and small town feel. There are a lot of great secondary characters that contribute to the story with strong main characters. It's a great second chance romance with plenty of spice. It had a lot of Hart of Dixie feels. There is lots of humor with occasional drama, but it made for a great mix!

Thank you to Lauren Landish, the publishing company, and NetGalley for a copy of the book.

I love this series! Thank you @netgalley and @lauren_landish for this Arc.
Wren hooked up with her best friend brother Jesse a few months back. Wren thinks Jesse doesn’t want her because she’s too much to handle and Jesse thinks he’s not good enough for her despite him keeping an eye on her from a far. Add in some town drama and their love story and you have a magical book. PS. Jesse is a dream book boyfriend ❤️

As usual, I enjoyed Lauren’s newest release “The Wrong Guy” I can always count on a true connection between the FMC and MMC.

This book didn’t grab me from the start like they usually do, it started off a bit slow for me this time. However, I am never disappointed with Lauren’s stories so I pushed through and I am glad I did.

I loved watching Wren’s and Jesse’s relationship grow and enjoyed the side characters just as much. I was pleasantly surprised as how this story turned out!

This was my first Lauren Landish book but it definitely won't be my last. This was such a fun book! I loved the way the author set the scene with both guys in Wren's life and enjoyed watching Wren wrestle through her feelings. Easy to read, I managed to finish this book in one sitting. Such a great romance, highly recommend!

Tired of all the arrogant billionaires? This one’s for you! Wren is ambitious, successful attorney. Jesse is carefree, muscled construction worker. They are best of friends with benefits. Their secret identities?? You might have guessed it! Each of them is head over heels for the other…each thinking the other wouldn’t want more.

This is the 2nd story in the Cold Spring Series. We get the journey of Wren and Jesse finding themselves in with work, family and love. Wren makes a hasty decision due to a misunderstanding it causes them both heartache for a year. Jesse knows he doesn’t deserve Wren but secretly loves her giving her time and space to come back to him. When Jed and Chrissy divorce it sets the whole town in an uproar and Wren the city lawyer is put right in the middle. With a hot young lawyer, Oliver from out of town comes to represent Chrissy against the town villain, Jed things get crazy. Oliver tries to makes things more than professional, Jesse sees it and gets jealous pushing him to take matters into his own hands and oh boy does he! Wren does everything in her power to protect her family, friends and town. When Oliver’s true colors come out Wren handles it just perfectly. Jesse is Wren’s other half and the realize their love is worth fighting for! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. .

Wren and Jesse story well if only these two would communicate better. Their relationship takes on a new dynamic, they mesh well, they have banter in this small town romance. It was entertaining and I can imagine what the audio version will be like.

When the wrong guy is the right guy...

And the right guy is the wrong guy. Jesse. He's a genreal contractor, hooking up with Wren for over a year. He falls first.

Wren a lawyer, afraid to say the words. Instead, Jesse and Wren waste months avoiding talking about what they want (hint, its each other and the smoking hot sexy times they have that bookend this book). Jesse thinks he's not good enough for the lawyer princess. Wren is just going along with the status quo.

Jesse and Wren are fun and foxy with plenty of steamy times.
Recommend.

Thanks to #Netgalley for an advanced copy of #TheWrongGuy

This is a 2nd chance romance for Wren and Jesse. Wren thought Jesse was only interested in a hookup and Jesse believed he wasn’t good enough for Wren.

Wren is a city attorney having to renegotiate a contract for a housing development following the construction owner going through a divorce. Jesse is the Site manager for the construction company and impacted by the legal aspects.

When he sees the divorce lawyer Oliver trying to het friendly with Wren his hackles rise and he decides to let her know that she is his.

I enjoyed this story and the main and side characters. Recommended read with a bit of spice and a bit of crazy humour thrown in.

A fun follow up in the series, Wren and Jack both think that the other wants just a friends with benefits arrangement which leads to them not interacting much for a year. They finally get back together, work together to handle a common small town issue that pairs them again the "bad guy" from the last book, Wren's uncle. I enjoyed all the different characters, had a lot of laughs and really love this world. Some of the misunderstandings seemed forced but I do think that I was fully invested in the story and didn't want to put it down. A fun way to spend a few hours and now that I see it is in kindle unlimited with a fantastic narration cast, I'll be listening to it to relive the story! Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for a wonderful read.

The Wrong Guy by Lauren Landish
Cold Springs series #2. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Wren Ford and Jesse Sullivan had a brief relationship but then went their separate ways because their communication skills needed work. A high-profile divorce in the small town of Cold Springs impacts Wren as the attorney when contracts need to be reviewed, and Jesse as the job site manager. They renew their friends with benefits relationship but neither is ready to talk about something more permanent. Can they get to their happily ever after with each other?

Wren and Jesse are combustible together. He’s hero material for sure bringing her food during long working hours, bringing donuts to the office employees, replacing burnt out light bulbs in his mother’s bakery, and cracking jokes to help shift the mood. He’s a good man and his mother did a good job raising him. Wren knows all this. Now they just have to work out the details. And remember to be quiet if on the phone, or in her office during those more intimate moments.
Loved the banter, and overall feel of this town with heart. I definitely want to try the nachos.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I will definitely check out the 1st book in the series that I missed as well as others.

4.5 Stars

I really liked this story. It can be read as a standalone without missing anything but I did like it as part of the rest of the series. I also liked how the multiple story lines went parallel to each other and stood on their own equally.

This book deserves way more than those 5 measly stars...M'Kay!

This book had me laughing out loud so many times. It was exactly what I needed after some heavy reads.

Those people of Cold Springs are a hoot. They are nosey but loving. And Jesse and Wren, hooo doggy, these two were smoking hot in the sheets and over the table. And, hellz yeah, Jed gets served a cold, cold dish of Karma.

This book was so, so good and a must read. NOT a TBR, but a read right now. Totally binge-worthy!

Wren is a city attorney for the small town of Cold Springs. It's been a year since she ended her friends with benefits arrangement with her Uncle's lead construction supervisor, Jesse. She's secretly still in love with him, but she was just a passing fling for him... or so she thought. Now, in a high drama divorce that has the town gossips working overtime, Jed Ford threatens the very livelihood of the town of his housing project stalls in the proceedings. When a new lawyer comes to town and seems to be the perfect guy for Wren, Jesse stands up to show Wren his true feelings. But will he ever be good enough for her.
I enjoyed reading about this small town and the evil Jed Ford in The Wrong Bridesmaid. The laughs and drama continue in this new book in the series. I just wanted to shake them both for their miscommunication and insecurities, just like most of the town did. When they finally got together, Jesse was so perfect, supportive, loving, dirty talking (lol!). I love how they resolved the divorce drama in the end. Read this series of you enjoy a small town second chance rom-com.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
