💇‍♀️ BOOK / REVIEW 👛

I am fresh off another installment of the #diadamfawleyseries and oh my GOD. @carahunterauthor - do you put crack in these books? I seriously can not stop reading your stuff 😭.

I have to say that #alltherage has been my absolute favorite of the series (so far). This one had absolutely everything - a chilling series of crimes, a copycat murder, a deep investigation, insane character building, and so many twists and turns. While I believe these novels can be read alone, this book definitely hints at previous storylines, so I would strongly suggest reading them in order.

This book is intense and can be triggering to some, so please enter with caution. I don't want to give a big surprise away, but please know that there is sensitive subject matter in this novel related to marginalized communities. I thought Hunter did a brilliant job of handling this.

An absolute STUNNER - bravo, Cara. I AM RUNNING TO BOOK 5 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️. Thank you @harpercollins and @netgalley, for my #gifted copy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow for the advanced copy.

All The Rage is the fourth book in the Inspector Fawley series. The series is very binge worthy, and perfect for fans of Luther and Law & Order. This one centers on the attempted SA of a young girl in Oxford, and the subsequent crimes. It was tense, and fast paced, with plenty of red herrings. Highly recommended.

A definite disappointment. I found myself skipping to the end to find out what happened. Overall, I wish I had just DNFed the book. I found the story line to be predictable and the writing to be mediocre. Not a lot to draw me in, let alone keep me reading.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.

All the Rage by Cara Hunter follows DI Adam Fawley and his team as they investigate a series of abductions and assaults of teenage girls in Oxford. The case is complicated by the victims' reluctance to cooperate, the possible connection to a cold case from Fawley's past, and the personal troubles of the detectives. The book is skillfully written, with multiple perspectives, timelines, and media formats that create a realistic and immersive experience. The author also explores the themes of trauma, trust, and justice, and challenges the reader to question their assumptions and prejudices. The book is full of twists and turns that will surprise and shock you, and the final reveal is both satisfying and disturbing.

All the Rage is a must-read for fans of crime fiction, and a brilliant addition to the DI Fawley series.

All the Rage is book 4 in the DI Adam Fawley series by Cara Hunter.
Ok, so after reading this title I’m going to have to read the previous titles in this amazing series.
This book had me enthralled from the first page and had me hooked until the last.
Extremely clever writing with some unexpected twists and turns, vivid, believable characters.
It's a riveting read with a great setting. Hunter effectively combines elements of police procedurals with those of a gripping psychological thriller…. this ticked all the boxes for a riveting read!
An intriguing and intense crime thriller. I’m excited to read the titles before this one.

Thank You NetGalley and William Morrow for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

I read Cara Hunter for the first time a few months ago and only regret I haven't read her books sooner! Hunter really elevates the procedural thriller with her writing style and the interesting, relatable storylines and characters she creates. I also love the extras such as transcripts of police interviews, excerpts from websites and online forums, and other media to add details to the story in an entertaining way.

All the Rage is the fourth book in the DI Adam Fawley series and the second I've read. A teenage girl is abducted but is able to escape. She just wants to move on and forget the incident, but Fawley's team wants to help her and needs her help in return when a second girl is abducted. There is an unexpected development in the investigation, and it looks like one of Adam's old cases could be coming back to haunt him. I love that when things get difficult, Adam's team still has his back. I love that we are able to get to know each team member individually and see how well they work together to solve cases and support each other. This has quickly become one of my favorite series.

I was shocked when the truth came out about both the current and the old cases. The end of the book set up something creepy that I assume will come up in a future book, and I can't wait to find out! I recommend this book and the series. I loved this one and the prior book and am catching up on the others I've missed. (4.5 stars)

I received an advance copy of this ebook at no cost from NetGalley and William Morrow Books. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

I thoroughly enjoyed receiving and reading the advance copy of the latest installment in the Adam Fawley series. While my enthusiasm stems from my appreciation for the preceding three books, this novel stands strong as a compelling standalone. Addressing contemporary issues such as gender reassignment with sensitivity, the plot revolves around the disturbing targeting and attacks on young girls, delving into a case from 1999 involving the Roadside Rapist. The narrative skillfully combines first-person insights from Fawley with a collective portrayal of teamwork in police investigation, showcasing the diverse skills of the team. The unfolding story, presented through various perspectives like interviews, vlogs, tweets, and forum discussions, mirrors the authentic progression of a police inquiry. The conclusion delivers unexpected shocks, and I appreciate the anticipation it builds for the next installment. In summary, Cara Hunter's skillful storytelling makes this series and book highly recommendable.

All the Rage due to be published February 20th 2024 by Cara Hunter. This is the fourth installment in the DI Adam Fawley series and it definitely didn’t disappoint at all now I need to go back and read the first three because it was just that good.

All The Rage gets off to cracking start with an immediate hook, as a cab driver reports dropping a distressed young woman with torn and muddy clothing at her home to the police after finding her limping along a deserted road. When the team speak to nineteen-year-old fashion student, Faith Appleford, she confirms that she was grabbed off the street, a plastic bag put over her head, cable ties wound around her wrists before being taken to the local allotments where an attempted sex attack was foiled.
Faith refuses to report the incident claiming an April Fool's prank and her mother supports her. But with no major case underway the team have time to take a closer look at the family and investigate Faith's reluctance to co-operate knowing that the next girl might not be so fortunate. . Detective Adam Fawley and his team investigate this case and another similar one. They look like they may be linked to a serial killer rapist case from 20 years ago.

I highly recommend the author and the series!!
Thank you Netgalley, Cara Hunter and Penguin for the amazing read!!!

Intense

All the Rage is a gripping police procedural/mystery about a girl who is abducted but escapes. Soon after, another girl goes missing. DI Adam Fawley and his team investigate the crime.

This is the 4th installment in the DI Adam Fawley series--it can be read as a standalone.

This is a slow-paced, twisty read with red herrings that kept me on my armchair detective game. I am not going to share more about the plot because I don’t want to give anything away. What I will say is that I thought the mystery was headed in one direction, but it took a turn and went in a very different direction, both of which are intriguing and horrific to consider.

The narrative alternates between Fawley and members of his team. Interspersed are legal trial testimonies, social media chats, and newspaper articles. I enjoyed the juxtaposition between the traditional narrative and the multimodal view of the cases.

The majority of the novel is spent on the mystery, but the reader is privy to some of the personal lives of the team members, with an emphasis on Fawley’s current drama. He really is a lovely character who has developed over the series.

It has been a while since I visited this series, and I am so glad that I caught up. The motive behind the abductions is sick and twisted and is a bit Lifetime movie-ish, although there are some ripped-from-the-headlines comparisons woven in. Overall, it is at the same time nauseating. There is also a storyline that deals with the motives behind hate crimes--also nauseating.

I am happy to say that my first read of 2024 was a good one. Looking forward to reading book #5 soon.

The story revolves around the abduction and assault of a teenage girl. Miraculously escaping her captor, the traumatized victim becomes a crucial puzzle piece in DI Adam Fawley's quest for justice. Faith Appleyard, the resilient survivor, holds the key to capturing her assailant, but her reluctance to share critical information leaves DI Fawley's investigation at a standstill. The plot thickens when another girl disappears under similar circumstances, unveiling a disturbing pattern that hits close to home for DI Fawley, linking to a past he thought he had left behind. Hunter's storytelling prowess shines through as she crafts a riveting narrative around a complex and riveting case. The story takes an unexpected turn when the crimes echo the notorious acts of Gavin Parry, The Roadside Rapist, a case DI Fawley had a hand in solving two decades ago. As Parry faces parole, doubts surface about the accuracy of the original conviction, fueling a gripping exploration of moral dilemmas and unsettling revelations.
I loved this story and this DI is just awesome. I couldn't put it down. I will definitely reco it to everyone and post its review on my social media.

Cara Hunter does it again in the D.I. Adam Fawley series, it had what I enjoyed from the other books I read. The characters were strongly written and I’m glad they felt like the same characters. I enjoyed what was going on and thought it was a great entry in this series.

This story was interesting.
It was a who done it and your typical police procedural of going thru possible suspects.

I think there could have been a bit more story to the perpetrators. It just felt kind of a fast ending instead of a work up to the ending.

Will definitely read another book by this author because there were characters I feel really had a place in the story.

If you haven’t read the prior installments, you can absolutely start with this gem! My mind went through several conspiracy theories throughout, which is alway a sign of Cara Hunter’s epic writing abilities— love that! Cara Hunter once again has come through with a 5 star, twisty-turny, mystery/ thriller and I am already excited for the next novel in this must read series!

Oh wow. I really could not put down Cara Hunter's most recent DI Adam Fawley novel--All the Rage This is a novel where the title fits all too well. All the Rage is a novel about hatred and jealously and how easily it is to destroy a life. I really don't want to provide any spoilers, so I am going to be purposely vague. I read a lot of mysteries, and as a result, it is tough to keep me guessing for long, but Hunter threw in enough twists and turns that it took me a long time to guess this ending. The mysteries abound, but as each one unfolds it becomes increasingly difficult to put down All the Rage.

Hunter's talent is storytelling. She creates plots that contain the kind of complexity that readers who love mysteries cannot wait to read. The relevance to contemporary life is even more attractive. The characters in All the Rage have depth and complexity, but at the same time, they are frightfully ordinary. These events could happen to anyone. That is why the novels are so scary and why a tightly-woven resolution matters. Every character, even those who appear just briefly, are described so well that readers can easily "see" them. Hunter also has an eye for the quirks of real life. One reason these DI Fawley novels work so well is that readers enjoy meeting Fawley, Alex, Somer, and Baxter. We have all met a Quinn at some point. We understand and like these characters.

Thank you to the author, to publisher William Morrow, and to NetGalley for providing this ARC. I recommend All the Rage with real enthusiasm.

All the Rage by Cara Hunter is the fourth novel in the author's DI Fawley detective series.

After being abducted and assaulted, a teenage girl somehow managed to escape from her captor. She is traumatized and needs to heal, but the police need her help to catch her assailant.

Without the girl's assistance, DI Adam Fawley's investigation is at a dead end. When another girl vanishes under the same circumstances, he recognizes a disturbing pattern and a possible link to his past.

Sounds good, right? It was, for the most part, but there were lots of characters to keep track of. The actual storyline and format of how the story unfolded felt disjointed at times and hard to follow. It was a pretty quick read as I read it on the weekend. It did hold my interest, but it did feel slow in places.

I did like getting to know DI Fawley better, and I like the character. Overall, it is a good mystery with elements that kept me guessing. I would recommend this book and this author. I will check out more by this author as well.
