I'm sorry I just couldn't get through the first half. It was very slow paced for a thriller for my liking. Thank you so much for this arc! I may give it another chance in the future.

"The Murder Club" by Alexandra Ivy is an enthralling ride through the shadowy corners of Pike, Wisconsin, a town with a dark reputation for murder and mystery. The story's blend of high-stakes intrigue and romance completely captivated me, making it hard to put down. Bailey Evans, a sharp-witted nurse and amateur sleuth, finds herself at the heart of a dangerous plot after receiving an unexpected inheritance and terrifying threats.

Dom Lucier, a charming Las Vegas businessman who re-enters Bailey’s life with perfect timing, brings an extra thrill to the narrative. Their chemistry is palpable, adding a delightful layer of romance to the suspenseful plot. Together, they delve into a series of chilling incidents that suggest a deeper malice at work in Pike.

While the novel delivers plenty of suspense and romantic moments, some of the twists felt a bit predictable, and the pace occasionally wavered. However, Ivy’s skill at crafting relatable characters and tense scenarios shines through, making this a solid entry in the Pike Wisconsin series. I give "The Murder Club" a well-deserved 4 stars for its engaging blend of mystery and romance, ensuring that fans of the genre will find plenty to enjoy.

Another amazing addition to the Pike, Wisconsin series. I loved everything about it. The story has great twists and turns, the characters are amazing (as always), and the suspense is top notch! I enjoy that each book is not dependent on the rest of the series. I think it keeps the series fresh and interesting. Yes, you run across people you 'know", but you don't need to read the other books to enjoy the rest of the series. I cannot wait for the next one.

Gah. Once again a miss for me in this series. I really don't know why I bother as normal people just don't go around trying to solve murders. Glutton for punishment.

It started off strong and then once again a long the way it became lacking. The H is all in and overprotective which is too much for the short period of time that they have known one another.

The story was interesting and attention grabbing. Tough is keep up with at times. Its my first mystery thriller book and it's not my usual genre but I liked it. May even revisit this genre again some time later.

The Murder Club by Alexandra Ivy
Pike Wisconsin series #5. Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Over the years, Pike, Wisconsin has become famous for its murders and serial killers. Bailey Evans has enjoyed helping solve cold cases online. She’s good at the detail, and being a nurse, has a vast knowledge of medical issues. But when she’s invited to a Murder Club, it’s a bit too much and she declines. One of the elderly women at the nursing home where Bailey works, dies and Bailey is surprised that she is included in the inheritance. The family protests and threatens and Bailey ends up on an unpaid leave. Another elderly person in town dies and Bailey is getting threats from someone. Dom Lucier is in town and having met Bailey at a wedding, jumps in to protect Bailey from whatever threat exists. Now they have to discover who this newest killer is before Bailey is the next victim.

You’d think having a relative as the sheriff in town would make a person safe. Not in Pike. Twists and clues make this adventure gripping and thrilling. You know Dom and Eric will try to keep Bailey safe, but a determined threat will find a way.
This series is intense. You’ll want to read every one. But stay out of Pike! I’m thinking not all the killers have been revealed.
4.5
I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

This was a mediocre read at best. I found the plot to be bland and somewhat expected. The story did not grip me and I struggled to pay attention. The romantic storyline was similarly bland and predictable. By the end, I was counting the pages until I had finished. 2 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed reading this romantic mystery, even tho I have yet to read the first 4 books of this series. I was easily kept on my toes at the mystery part of the story and the romance was a nice add-on. The writing style of the author is enjoyable to read and I will look for her book in the future.

THE MURDER CLUB Pike, Wisconsin #5 by Alexandra Ivy
Thank you for keeping me up reading all night Alexandra! This story was not one that was easy to put down to wait until morning. This is the 5th book in the Pike, Wisconsin series. This one can certainly can be read as a stand alone. This romantic suspense story brings plenty of drama, murder, angst, intrigue, deception, plus chemistry.
When Bailey Evans needed some challenge during her downtime, a coworker suggested an online crime solving group solving cold cases to help fill her time. A night out reintroduces her to Dom Lucier, who she met at her best friend's wedding to his best friend. It isn't until the game seems to get intense and Bailey wants out that she finds she can't quit the game. Then the bodies start piling up. This is 4 stars.

So, I wasn't aware that this book was a part of a series until I started reading it. It didn't totally ruin the experience, you can definitely read it on it's own. Although I do think it would've been more enjoyable if I had read the other ones first. The romance between Dom and Bailey became very intense very quickly so it did feel like I had maybe missed something with that. It was mentioned they had first met in a previous book. I didn't really appreciate the connection between them, Dom was giving me savior complex vibes, like Bailey was this damsel in distress he had to rescue. It wasn't my cup of tea and I had a hard time getting through the book because if this.

I do wish there had been more emphasis on the murder mystery aspect of the story. There was so much importance put on the romance. I feel like there was so much potential with the reveal of the killer and the story around that, it just felt very rushed and it made me quite disappointed. But it was a decent book overall. I give it 2,5 stars.

Take a town which is known as the murder capital of the country owing to the number of notorious serial killers who had made the town their hunting nest, a person who puppeteers the people around him and a generous soul, put them together in a bizzaire game of life and death and you will get "The Murder Club" by Alexandra Ivy.

Bailey Evans's life turns upside town when an elderly woman she cared for at the care center dies and leaves her personal account savings to Bailey. A relatively unassuming person who doesn't really feel comfortable with attention, she suddenly finds herself in the midst of stalker- like attention, murder investigations involving her and a new romantic connection. Will Bailey be able to pull herself out of the complicated situation unscathed.

I liked the main character Bailey and her romantic partner Dom Lucius was adorable. They are very likable characters who will make you root for them. Majority of the story was very crisp and sharp. But the pacing comes down near the last chapters of the book. I can't say I was completely engrossed in the story. I enjoyed the book and didn't see the main twist coming. But whether it made sense is
another matter.

Overall, it is a mostly interesting and fairly engaging romantic suspense which would be great for a weekend reading.

Alexandra Ivy returns us to the infamous Pike, Wisconsin. Instead of everyone going to therapy, an enterprising group formed a Murder Club. This macabre group made me chuckle; I loved this bit of dark humor from the author to honor the fact the we readers do, in fact, wonder how many times serial kills can strike in a single location.

Ivy wrote a murder mystery that is sort of cozy. Clues are there, meted out carefully, red herrings carefully plotted to lead readers astray as they guess the killer… I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Dom and Bailey had a warm relationship. This is a mystery to keep you reading long into the night.

Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Alexandra Ivy

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

This was my first read of the pike murder series and I was intrigued from the start. A small town carrying the heavy weight of death is in for another round of trauma. Main character Bailey begins receiving creepy texts about her joining the murder club as bodies and crimes start to accumulate. Crime, murder, stalking, and a bit of romance will keep readers flipping through chapters. I appreciated that this book was suspenseful and mysterious without being gory.
