The book revolves around Libby and Will's relationship. Their honeymoon was in Venice, Italy during a time they were going through a financial hardship. During their time their Will promised that for their 25th anniversary he will bring Libby back and they will get to do all the things she wanted to during their first honeymoon.

As I kept reading, part of my heart broke for Libby. I felt as if she was giving so much in the relationship and it was not fully reciprocated by Will at times. Libby and Will's relationship is raw and honest- it shows how there are ups, downs, and hardships in relationships.

They are so in love until something happens in Venice and Libby despises her husband and can’t forgive him.
To be honest I struggled in the beginning but from the moment Libby and will arrive in Venice I couldn’t put the book down. First of all I love books that take you to different places. It’s as if I’m in Venice myself. But the story kept getting better and I wanted to know if Libby would be able to forgive will. I know for sure that I wouldn’t be able to forgive someone who betrays me like that.

I was hoping this would be a good read but felt disappointed. I felt bored after the first chapter.

I loved Helga Jensen's previous novel about Paris so I was looking forward to reading this one. I really enjoyed it. I also like the fact that the FMC are older, in their 40's and 50's....a fresh perspective. I fell in love with all that is Venice....a must on my travel list

I would summarise this story as being a bit silly. I can't believe how far Libby and her husband let things go before they communicated properly. Another thing that was irritating, was most of the dialogue was very proper, for example, saying things like 'were not' instead of 'weren't'. All the speech is like this and it makes Libby sound childish. Jensen did the same in another book and I wish she'd stop. For a start it makes the protagonists sound the same, and also that they sound a bit childish. Loved the description of Venice. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I visisted Venice for the first time a few months ago and fell in love so when I saw this title, I couldn't help but request an ARC.
Unfortunately, I didn't fell in love with book in any way. While I appreciate MCs who are around 50 years old, I didn't like them at all. They seemed to be much older than their actual age. When Libby was young she wanted to do marketing but at that time, there was no place for women in the office, apart from management support. That time being the 1990s. Right.
Money plays an important part in this story, in a way (and in amounts) that don't always make sense. Libby is said to have dyscalculia but this mainly seems to have been introduced as an excuse for her not being fully aware of their financial situation.
The main issue with this book is the writing: it's all tell and no show. This makes it very exhausting and frustrating to be in Libby's head, and stops me from believing the characters and their experiences. It is also why the author fails to capture Venice. The city where I left my heart deserves a better book.

My Heart is in Venice was just alright to me. I think my main issue was I did not really like either main character. They both got on my nerves. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I liked the main characters.

Unfortunately "My Heart is in Venice" was no better than the previous book I read by Helga Jensen. I wish that I'd re-read my review before selecting this one but chose it just because I recognised the author's name.
The writing has a rather naive style and the situations are rather simplistic. Once again the main character is about 50 years old, so should have life experience and a bit more common-sense than she demonstrates.

This is a good read. I didn't really warm to the two main characters though and think I would have enjoyed this much more had I really liked them. At times, I felt like I wanted to bang their heads together shouting talk to each other! The writing is good, sometimes it did feel a little too descriptive for my liking and I was skimming pages in parts of the book. There are some lovely family moments, relatable issues in the story that I can resonate with and by the end I had warmed a bit more to Libby and Will. This book is about second chances, honesty, trust and family. The parts set in Venice were enjoyable and I liked the ending. If you are looking got a bit of escapism, a book with older, more mature characters then I think you'll enjoy this.

Another fabulous read from this author who I have only found this year. Love how this author writes about real people and relatable issues and targets those in their 40s and 50s in their stories. This was so much more than just a romantic read and was the story of a couple at the crossroads in their marriage and dealing with everything life has thrown at them over the year.s.

Loved the descriptions of Venice and made me feel like I was sat having a coffee and taking in the sights while reading and had made me want to visit the city.

The premise was interesting but the characters come off flat. After 25 yrs of marriage, the unwillingness to hear out the spouse at all before kicking him out and filing for divorce just seemed a big stretch. Just not for me.

A pleasant and enjoyable romantic read with older than usual characters, I liked the way the h/H were so well rounded and came back together after working on their marriage.

Lovely and unexpected! Some really beautiful descriptions of Venice, and family life, which blended so well with the main storyline. I loved the characters, and the relationship between Libby and her sons, and sister rang so true. A really sweet book with some twists and turns, and a perfect ending. Highly recommend for curling up on the sofa with with a mug of hot chocolate.

A beautiful cute love story! I did not want it to end, I fell in love with the characters and this is my favourite rom com of the year! Helga has done it again with her gorgeous writing with two amazing settings and beautiful adorable characters. I am absolutely in love with this book. Heartwarming and read with happy and sad tears along the way. This story reached into my heart, broke it and put it back together. With a bit of mysterious sexiness! Thank you xx
