This was such a good follow-up to the first volume! I enjoyed it just as much. It was so much fun revisiting these characters, and getting to know new ones as well! All in all, it was a highly enjoyable read and the art remains as cute as ever!

I got the first volume of Boyfriends to read so when I saw this one come up on Netgalley, of course I had to grab it! I absolutely love seeing them grow closer and more comfortable in their polycule. I also enjoyed seeing the Girlfriends with the exact same types π€£π€£
This volume had so many hilarious moments in it, I was squealing happily the entire time, because I'm sorry but Goth not knowing what a credit was HILARIOUS.
"Why do you always have to make it gay between us?"
"YOU ARE GAY."
I also absolutely loved that they were playing animal crossing and that an intervention needed to be had to get prep off the couch and off the switch. I also loved the Little Mermaid piece!
Seeing queer relationships depicted in such a healthy way is amazing. They're learning how to support themselves and each other when one struggles and it's beautiful.
My only gripe was Webtoon putting the copyright over the entire image several times as it made it super hard to read. There also seemed to be a few typos but overall it was super cute and I can't wait to read the next one!

I've been following this series since it was on Tapas and it's such a treat to see it become a published novel. I wanted to see the changes and how it would adapt to a graphic novel format instead of a webserial and I am overall pleased. I enjoyed rereading and re-exploring the cute dynamics and wholesome romance that the characters go through. The art is so cute and reflects the wholesome story that it depicts.
My only complaints ( and this will be fixed when the book comes out) is that the watermarks made it incredibly difficult for me to read the galley since I have dyslexia. It's a little bit of a head scratcher especially the story is being posted for free on other platforms and if there are worries of the content being pirated, other measures like turning the comic into greyscale for 90% of the pages should be a better solution rather than making the entire comic inaccessible. I felt like I shouldn't have requested this galley as it only made my reading experience frustrating.

Prep, Nerd, Goth, and Jock are back, this time with more school shenanigans and some new (and parallel) characters! I've been following this series on Webtoon for a while, and was excited to learn about its release in physical graphic novel format. It is a soft, lighthearted series about four college students exploring a polyamorous relationship. While LGBTQIA+ themes are more common these days, polycules (people in polyamorous relationships) are still not as mainstream, so it's nice to see them depicted here, especially in a supportive, exploratory fashion. While general sex jokes and innuendos are sometimes made (the characters are college students after all), the series is by and large wholesome and inclusive of many different members of the LGBTQIA+ community, including transgender and asexual individuals. This particular volume also brings in an all-female polycule to complement the boys, as well as a bonus mermaid AU for fun.
The series is arguably trope-y, and although the main characters did originally have names, the character archetypes they represent have long since subsumed their names in fan perception. However, this is part of the draw of the series, just like the pastel color scheme and the relatively streamlined art style. It was a lot of fun rereading previous chapters and seeing the new page layout!
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC! I look forward to Volume 3!

I've been a fan of Refrainbow's Boyfriends comic ever since I read it on Webtoons. This second compilation is lovely. I will definitely be purchasing it to add to my bookshelf when it comes out.
This is a cute story of four college guys navigating their way in a poly relationship. They have ups and downs, but the story never gets too heavy or difficult. It is a bubblegum pop story with real feelings and humor. The perfect antidote for a rough day. The art style is great and the storylines are satisfying and feel good.

Meh. Not as good as the first collection but I liked the introduction of the female characters. The mermaid story was cute.

Before I saw something about this being published, I had never heard of this Webtoon, so itβs safe to say that Iβm so glad that I did discover BOYFRIENDS. This was such a fun read that I ended up reading the equivalent of 100 Webtoon episodes in a day and a half because I was having so much fun reading about Goth, Jock, Nerd, and Prep! While the characters play on some typical character archetypes, I think all of them standout, and make such a fun story, and one of the best poly couples Iβve seen in contemporary fiction! The art of the story is also so fun (and the meta-chapters were extra gorgeous) and fits the vibes so well while also making everything super readable. I also loved how volume 2 introduced the girlfriends (and am secretly hoping there might be a webtoon about them in the future). Definitely a cute, fun, and very gay story thatβs worth the read!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with the ARC for this graphic novel!
SPOILERS TO FOLLOW
I would first like to say... that Webtoon putting it's copyright sentence over every page of this ARC was NOT it. It made it hard to read some of the text bubbles at times. I was already going to buy the physical version when it comes out but... I really want it now.
ANYWAYS!!! The content itself was just as cute as the first one. I was really excited to meet The Girlfriends! It was funny to see that one of the girls that Nerd met in the first Vol was also one of the girls in the Girlfriends. I also really liked how Jock's sister also turned out to be one of the Girlfriends!
This is just a me thing (because I did really enjoy this graphic novel 5/5 lol) but I think the first one is my favorite. Mostly in terms of how awkward and cute they all are when they first start dating each other. In this collection they're a bit more toned down and settled into their relationship. They're still really damn cute but I kind of miss the awkward, cute tension from the first one!

5 Rainbow Stars!!
The art is amazing and the fact that the four main characters are very distinct from each other but have overlap in their personalities is great too! The humour is placed at the right time, seriousness is felt when dealing with issues/character struggles, seeing characters develop and be heard is very touching too.
Iβve been following the series since season 1; if you have [Line] Webtoon, consider using coins to fast pass to advance episodes to support this wonderful artist! You really wonβt regret it!!

Senior year has never been this charmingly chaotic! In "Boyfriends Volume Two," Jock, Goth, Nerd, and Prep return with more love, giggles, and smiles. It's like the sitcom you wish was your life, complete with polyamorous adventures, quirky habits, and the introduction of the Girlfriends. Buckle up for another semester of romance and college-level absurdity!
Pros:
π 3.5 stars for this delightful continuation! So, so cute, it's practically a serotonin supplement.
π Very fun! The author keeps the smiles beaming, making it the perfect escape from reality.
π Positive vibes abound! It's like a rainbow of emotions, with moments of pride big and small scattered throughout.
π³οΈβπ Good representation continues, making the polycule a diverse and heartwarming group.
π§ββοΈ No plot, just vibes β who needs an intricate storyline when you can bask in the warm glow of romantic escapades?
π§ββοΈ Love the Little Mermaid AU β because every rom-com needs a splash of underwater romance.
π Love the introduction of the Girlfriends poly β it's like expanding the romantic universe with a fresh breeze of queer energy.
Cons:
π€· Same issues as the first book β stereotypes, shallow characters, and little plot. But hey, when the vibes are this good, who's complaining?
Disclaimer: Thanks to NetGalley and WEBTOON Unscrolled for the eARC. All opinions are my own, just like my love for cute boyfriends and heartwarming rom-coms! ππ

The second collected volume of web comic Boyfriends, this graphic novel is sweet and funny. I sped through it in one setting absolutely delighted by the continuing relationship between all four leads. Sometimes all you want it to curl up with a soft slice of life and this is the exact material to hit that urge. An absolute delight all around.

Last summer I got the first volume of Boyfriends to read and I read it on a rainy day. I read this volume on a snowy night. I guess I will keep reading this series during inclement weather.
Boyfriends 2 continues the day-to-day lives of Jock, Goth, Nerd, and Prep as their polycule grows closer. Incredible cuteness happens. There are some new characters. There's a Little mermaid AU. It's just a sweet comic full of sweetness and cuteness.
Pairs well with hot chocolate on a snowy winter night.

"Boyfriends." Webtoon fan review incoming in 3, 2, 1... So I've been following refrainbow's "Boyfriends." since it was picked up as a Webtoon Original a few years back! I love keeping up with updates for this Webtoon, so I'm actually farther along in the story as I write this review, but I will say I hadn't realized it was being physically bound and published! That's so exciting to me and I will be picking up volume 1 stat. So this was a treat to find on NetGalley as an arc! It was such a joy reading this volume and going back to the beginning of this sweet polycule relationship! I have a lot of love for these guys and also equally love the "Girlfriends" too and this is when they're all introduced and the couples become friends! π This is such a great, quick story to pick up too since it's a short form comic style and it always finds the guys in such fun to read relationship situations. Though it really is hilarious to read at times, refrainbow does a great job at showing the struggles each character goes through that make them so relatable and has them support each other in such a loving, healthy way. We're here for depicting queer relationships in a joy-filled and loving light! So loved going back and getting to re-experience the joy I felt reading this Webtoon the first time. HIGHLY recommend!

I adore this story, the art style is so cute and colorful. I love all the characters and how healthy their relationship is. The little awkward moments and the good humor make it even better.
While the characters have different aesthetics and personalities they all work so well together and care so much for each other. I loved reading the cute moments just as much as the funny chaotic moments.
Such a fun and lovely read!!
Thank you so very much to the author, WEBTOON Unscrolled, and NetGalley for this eARC; Iβm so grateful!

I read this on webtoon and was excited that you can get physical copies now in stores. Where do i begin ? I just love all the characters and dynamic between them. I love how wholesome and cute it is. They are all different but , still it works well together. Its my first time reading about a poly relationship but , i love how they are able to communicate with one another in such a healthy way. Will continue reading it :)

I adore these boys! I read the first volume last year and I fell head over heels for these guys! This volume just solidified my love. This series is just so cute and wholesome. It is always a great go to when I need something sweet and easy. Plus I want to hold and protect these boys with my life!

This wasn't quite as cute as the first volume of the series. There were a few things that I actually found really annoying, mainly the characters not having names and the introduction of an all girl poly group with one of the boys' sisters out of the blue. It's still cute and all but I like volume 1 much better.

This web tool is literally so so SO FREAKING ADORABLE!!! The vibrant colors and simple yet charming character designs make it easy to read. This is such a fun and cute read for leisure. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this comic! The characters are so fun and the idea is unique and playful. The art is really vibrant as well which makes reading it all the more enjoyable. I think the small slices of their life as the chapters flows really smoothly. Will definitely be reading Vol 3 (and more online!)

So cute and quirky, just like Volume One! Literally every page brought a smile to my face! Itβs just such an excellent balance of humor and downright adorableness, told through beautifully vibrant artwork. Whatβs not to love!
