✨ wow . what a story .
after reading this book I was literally don’t want to do anything as it was well written.

✨Natalie was a young mother who is having a hard time to cope, his husband however was struggling with his business.
To the point that she has been accused of missing there son until the husband wants to sell everything. From here, I thought it was a predictable ending but there was so much more to tell.

✨ the book has 2 scenario, one past and present. You have to read it as sometimes it was confusing .

✨ An eye opener, really great writing🙌

✨ Thankyou netgalley and bookcouture for an arc copy of this book for a honest review.

This book pulled me in from the very beginning and kept me interested! The story was full of surprises!

This one was a good listen but throughout I felt I had read/listened to it before but I think it was more along the lines of a similar read but it was so close in similarities. For someone going in blind it’s a well developed storyline along with characters that were both likeable and not so likeable. The storyline moved at a steady pace. Good listen 👂…

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review #KeepYouSafe

This one was excellent twisty goodness. This is my second book by this author and she is fast becoming a favorite and I need to read all her backlist titles!

Natalie went to jail for a crime she didn't commit and lost her son in the process, now she is out and wants to find her son but who can she trust? And who will trust her?

I don't want to give anything away I highly recommend this twisty thriller!

The narration by Sarah Durham was very well done she really brought the emotions to this one.

4 stars

I received this audiobook from the publisher Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for a fair and honest review.

Pretty good read. it had relatable characters and a good storyline. The book dragged a little for me but over all the twist at the end was good. I would still recommend it to my friends.

This is a "clueless woman is set up for a crime she didn't commit but will her drive for revenge end up turning her into a villain" plot. It follows the usual clichés and is rather predictable with Lots of jumping around in time, some superficial exploration of what it means to be mad/bad, and a whole cast of unlikeable chatacters.

Omg what a fantastic debut. This is a 5 star highly entertaining and compelling listen. The narrator puts real feeling into the story.
The plot itself is told mainly from the pov of Natalie. Her back story is skillfully woven into the story which centres on her quest to be reunited with her son after going to prison for a crime she didnt commit. This is full of great twists and turns and side chatacters. I did guess the true identity of the person following Natalie but thr ginal act and reveal was out of this world.
This high quality audio is a must for thriller fans who love s slow burn .
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author and narrator.

This is a heartfelt thriller that centers around a mother's love and her obsession to be reunited with her young son. I enjoyed how the story was told in alternating timelines of then and now. There was also a mysterious unknown narrator whose voice gave me chills, it was so ominous. Rona Halsall masterfully creates a main character that I cared about. The final ending twists were shocking and explosively wrapped up this tale of deception, betrayal, and desperation. The narration added a layer of suspense, intrigue, and emotion. Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.

Natalie has recently been released from prison. She has one thing on her mind. To get to her young son, Harry, who she believes is in danger after something that happened whilst she was in prison.

The story is told across two timelines, then and now. Now being Natalie trying to find her son and escape with him to keep him safe. Then is the back story, how she ended up in prison and what happened in prison, which has led to her fearing for her sons life.

Life has really not been kind to Natalie, whilst working for her husbands business, she ends up with a visit from the police after a substantial amount of money from one of her clients investments disappears into thin air. The only thing is she is pretty sure she didn’t do it. However, she has had a number of other things happen to her before this that she can’t remember, so she thinks she could be losing her mind.

On her release, she heads to the Isle of Man, where he husband has moved to as it is where his family are from. On the ferry journey to the Isle of Man, she ends up talking to a musician on the way back from a festival and he invites her gig that evening. She has no intention on going, she has more important things to attend to, however, little does she know what part this man will play in her future.

It was a decent story, however, for a thriller, it lacked the thrill as I found it predictable and guessed who was the perpetrator pretty early on. The decoy was there, but it wasn’t believable for me. It was a tad slow for a great part of it and in someways a repetitive. However, the narrative gained pace in the last third of the book and did leave me hoping that I was wrong, alas I wasn’t.

I give this a 3.5/5, rounded down to 3, as for me it was just a bit too predictable.

Natalie sets on a journey to bet reunited with her little boy - she has just come out of prison after being punished for crimes she didn't commit!
Her husband Tom not only set her up but ended up divorcing her and separating her from their child.
It also seems like Tom has a lot of help and Natalie doesnt know who she can trust - her old friends or the new one who has just come into her life?

While in jail Natalie has also ended up with more enemies - and now in the present someone from her past, present all seem to be out to get her!

When Natalie realizes the truth and what has been happening she is completely stunned and almost ends up dead as well.

A gripping book by Rona Halsall, thank you bookouture Audio, netgalley and the author for approving audio ARC in exchange for unbiased review.

OMG! That was a trip and I was totally here for it! I knew her husband was up to no good and fucking with her! I did not see that twist w/her "best friend" coming at the end. But man did that momma bear go full out momma bear to keep her baby safe! I love it! This was my 2nd book by Rona Halsall and it has reminded me that I need to add all of her books to my TBR!

Natalie has just been released from prison and she has a single purpose in mind - to get custody back of her son. She knows he won't remember her but she never once stopped thinking about him Three years is just like the blink of an eye when Natalie remembered holding her son in his arms. But, her ex-husband has cut her son out of his life. In fact, he has remarried.

What one wants and what one gets is easier said than done. Despite the challenges, Natalie is determined to go to the ends of the earth to see her son again. Natalie has another goal in mind. Feeling she was charged and imprisoned unfairly, she is determined to find out who was responsible?

I have read more than a few books by Rona Halsall, and loved them all. I love how she writes psychological thrillers, and as it turns out, this book was previously published as Guilty Little Secrets in 2018.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Initially I was stunned that the case against the main character went anywhere as I couldn't see how it could have been anything other than cirumstantial, but I think it's necessary to build her up as someone who hasn't actually done anything wrong and that's where the sense of injustice builds.

However I found her difficult to like - and I didn't really feel connected to any of the characters. I did guess a twist early on - but I'm not sure it was that obvious, might just be the way I tend to overthink where people are concerned.

I was frustrated by some decisions or lack of what should have been obvious steps to me, by the main character, but that may be that this just isn't the book for me.

I was expecting a twisty thriller and this is not how I would describe this book. If you want a read about an injustice where you can't be sure who to trust, then this is for you however.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my advance copy of this book.

From the start I liked Natalie’s character and was delighted with the way it was revealed.

The storyline flowed quickly and easily and I found myself walking ‘just another ten minutes’ because I couldn’t stop listening now!!!!

This was the first book I have read or listened to from the author and I'm glad to have found a new author. I liked the narrator and found it easy to get into and found to be an interesting thriller twisty listen and I also didn't see the twist coming! Hope to listen to more of the authors books in the future. Thanks to netgalley and bookouture for the advanced audio copy.

My favorite Rona Halsall book so far! This one was not only thrilling (wow!) but had all the feels. What wouldn't a mother do for love of her young son? And the twists -- I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but this one will catch you by surprise!

Halsall has once again delivered a fast paced and deliciously wicked tale. The characters are well rounded and come across as believable, whether you love them or hate them. Her characters are well-developed though not necessarily likeable. None of them are whom they appear to be. This provocative, somewhat dark and twisted story grabs you from the first page and keeps you guessing until the very end! It was so captivating and exciting that I simply couldn't put it down.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio who provided me with a copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the story of Natalie who works together with husband in his finance company.
When their baby-son Harry is a few months old her husband encourages her to return to work. All fine so far until Natalie is arrested for money laundering.
But as much as she tries to, she doesn't remember that she ever did anything like this!
It doesn't help and she ends up in prison- seperated from her beloved son because her husband never takes Harry on a visit. On the contrary: he moves away!

Natalie is desperate to get her child back and throughout the book we discover what really happened!

A psychological as well as domestic thriller that is perfectly narrated by Sarah Durham. I really could relate to Natalie's situation and wanted to know, how things turned out for her!
