When women Courtney has been working with are both found dead, she has to figure out why they are being killed and by who before she may become the next victim! This installment in the series felt a little less cozy and a little more scary, I am not sure why. I liked how Courtney worked hard to try and separate herself from the investigation while still seeming to stumble upon clues that the police might not take seriously. Of course the fairy element added a bit of lightness to the story, but even Fiona was having a stressful time dealing with her little sister, Eveleen. I love the escape into this sweet world of fairies and can't wait to see where this series goes!

Courtney owns a fairy garden shop in Carmel, California. She can see fairies. Her fairy friend has returned from the fairy realm. Courtney has rented a plot of land at the Flower Farm and booked a booth in Summer Blooms festival. When a dead body of a new friend is found. Courtney decides to investigate.

I liked following the clues with Courtney and Fiona. I'm not a big fan of the descriptions of building fairy gardens, I tend to skim those parts. I enjoy the storyline regarding the fairies. I like this fantasy cozy mystery series.

In Twinkle of Trouble, we visit Carmel by the Sea and learn of a host of fairies who live in the town.
Courtney is the main character. She owns a fairy garden shop, has a father who is a landscape architect and gardener, and has a boyfriend, Brady, who owns a cafe. She has a level of curiosity that gets her into trouble with the local detective on the police force.
Fiona is Courtney’s companion fairy. She gets to mentor her younger sister Eveleen. In each book the reader meets new fairies.
When a woman that Courtney has known only briefly is found dead, Courtney plans not to get involved, but her curiosity soon has her asking questions that lead to a bit of trouble.
I enjoy the setting and the paranormal aspects to A Fairy Garden Mystery series. I enjoy watching the mystery unfold and how Fiona and her friends help along the way.
Twinkle of Trouble is a delightful read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Cozies for the opportunity to read this book.

I admit to being a fan of this series- there's something about Fiona the fairy (I know, a fairy) that just makes me smile. Fiona and her human Courtney have once again found themselves in a pickle with a tricky murder case in their small town of Carmel by the Sea. The cozy part of this might feel a bit familiar but the characters make it interesting. Even better, though, is the introduction of Fiona's sister Eveleen, who has been sent to learn the ways of humans. Yes I know some people might think this is silly but it's fun and cheerful (despite the murders). Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Oh- and recipes !

She's done it again! Delivered a fun cozy with awesome characters and a great story plot! Carmel-by-the-sea sounds like the most delightful fun place. Who doesn't want to visit a fairy garden shop? With real fairies! Plenty of twists and turns will keep you guessing. A fun whimsical cozy to curl up to! Thanks #Netgalley and #Kensington for the eARC in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are mine.

Courtney has rented a small plot of land in hopes to grow plants for her shop. Courtney is also preparing for the upcoming annual Summer Blooms Festival where she has rented a booth. When one of Courtney’s friends are murdered and another one is a suspect, Courtney and her fairy friends set out to solve the murder.

This is such a fun series. Most of characters are likable and have great chemistry. I enjoy the scenes with the fairies, they make the story have a whimsical feeling even though we are solving a murder. The story is pulls you in from the start and moves at a smooth steady pace. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged throughout until the big reveal.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, I have not been influenced by anyone.

Courtney lives in Carmel-By-The-Sea, and owns a fairy garden shop. And she's an amateur sleuth on the side. In A Twinkle of Trouble, Courtney is compelled to solve the mystery of her friends death. She's on the trail, but then another friend dies. Who could be culprit? Courtney had her work cut out for her solving this mystery.

Such a good book! There's plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing whodunit. Plus there's great supporting characters, danger, and lots of fairy hijinks as we get to meet Fiona's little fairy sister, Eveleen

I adore this fun and whimsical cozy mystery series. I wish I had my own fairy.

Many thanks to Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Courtney Kelly owns a fairy garden shop in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. She also can see fairies - and has a little fairy friend named Fiona. When one of her gardening group friends is murdered, and then another dies the same way, she immediately works - with a little fairy help - to solve the mystery.

I wanted to read this book because I love cozy mysteries and I find the Fairy Garden Mystery series delightful!

There is so much to like about this book. Carmel-by-the-Sea is a charming setting, combining small town charm and a beach. Courtney is a likable protagonist, and I also liked her relationships with her friends, father, boyfriend, cat Pixie, and fairy friends.

Courtney, the daughter of a retired police detective, is a natural amateur detective. I especially enjoyed reading about her deductive process which includes using a white board to list clues. The mystery is well paced with quite a few strong suspects.

I recommend A Twinkle of Trouble for fans of cozy mysteries ... and especially for readers who enjoy a little whimsy like the fairy storyline in this series. Gardening enthusiasts will also love the garden details!

A Twinkle of Trouble is the fifth book in Daryl Wood Gerber's Fairy Garden Mystery Series.
Courtney Kelly is facing a busy week that includes fairy garden classes, the Saturday book club tea and the Summer Blooms Festival. While she is in her backyard her fairy friend, Fiona, comes thru the shimmering fairy portal she had entered a month ago. Courtney, her cat Pixie, and her other friends who could see Fiona are thrilled to have her back and welcome Fiona's sister Eveleen who will be mentored by Fiona.
A variety of “characters” include Genevieve, an “ influencer” who seems to delight in posting negative and often nasty reviews of local shops and businesses, Petunia and Scarlett who will have booths near Courtney at the festival and gardener Daphne who along with Genevieve was not invited to participate in the Festival. Everyone becomes concerned when Daphne and Genevieve have an argument and Genevieve then posts a cruel picture of Scarlet online.
Genevieve is murdered and Petunia soon becomes a second victim. Daphne becomes a prime suspect after her hoedag gardening tool was used to kill Petunia. Working her clue list, hanging out with her favorite guy, Brady and running her festival booth and her shop, Open Your Imagination keep Courtney and Fiona very involved in the fun and the fatalities.
A good addition to this series.🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love visiting Carmel-by-the-Sea! And I love the people that live and work there. Well, most of them, anyway.
This was another fun story from one of my favorite authors.
Courtney is happy Fiona is back and is bringing her sister along.
People are having such fun building fairy gardens. I really need to go visit this place in person. Oh, but then there is the murder that needs solving.
I really appreciate the list of characters at the beginning of the book. That is so helpful when it has been a few months since I visited this place. I need a reminder of who owns which business here.
I definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries with a little bit of fun magic with them!

I so wish I had a fairy to hang out with! I love how the relationship between Fiona and Courtney has grown throughout this series. We get to meet Fiona’s sister Eveleen in this book. That was fun seeing the sisters interact. I also love the closeness of Courtney and Meaghan. Everyone hopes for a friendship like they have. This story had so many possible suspects. I enjoyed Courtney working through the possibilities. Great story and wonderful characters. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

Courtney and Joss are busy preparing their booth for the Summer Blooms Festival, when Fiona returns from the fairy realm with her sister, Eveleen, in tow. While Fiona is busy mentoring Eveleen, Courtney is plunged into another murder investigation. This time, the victim is one of her friends – and another friend is the prime suspect.

This is book #5 in the Fairy Garden series, which I have come to enjoy more with every book. If I lived in a coastal town like Carmel-by-the-Sea, I would be walking on the beach as often as Courtney and her friends do. What a wonderful way to relax after a stressful day! The festival in this book sounds amazing, and I could almost smell the flowers at each vendor’s booth. Overall, Courtney has a good group of people around her, but I’m not so sure about the newest group of friends who were introduced in this book. Time will tell – if they continue to be present in future books.

The murder victim was not an especially nice person, so there were plenty of suspects to think about, most with similar motives. I had two people at the top of my list as most likely to be the killer, but one of them was ruled out as the story progressed. The other actually turned out to be the killer, but the motive made me roll my eyes.

I look forward to reading the next book in this series to see what happens next with Courtney, Joss, Brady and the rest.

What fun to visit Courtney Kelly and her fairy garden shop. Catching up with Courtney and the friendly fairies she knows usually involves a mystery, and A Twinkle of Trouble is the fifth such adventure.

Daryl Wood Gerber writes that Courtney works with the fairies to clear her friends suspected of murdering another friend during the Summer Blooms Festival. The book is a well-conceived mystery with a bit of whimsy and the usual red herrings with plenty of twists. The author delivers an entertaining read, and many readers enjoy the recipes in the book's last pages.

This is a delightful addtion to this wonderful cozy series. Thank you to the publisher,, Net Galley and the author for the opportunity to review. My review opinions are my own. I have read this entire series and always enjoy returning to the magical world the author has created in beautiful Carmel California.

A Twinkle of Trouble by Daryl Wood Gerber the 5th instalment in A Fairy Garden Mystery series. Courtney is our savvy smart protagnist who can see fairies and owns a fairy garden shop that is popular in Carmel California. She holds classes, teas and sells all manner of fairy garden accessories that the locals and her friends adore. Fiona her personal fairy guide has returned from fairyland with her sister who she must instruct. Fiona is bonded to Courtney and adores her cat Pixie who she teases endlessly, The Fairies are a fun part of this series and can be seen by only a few people in town.

Courtney has to prepare for a local festival and is working in a garden plot she rented to grow her plants. Her shop is busy and her schedule barely gives her time to spend with her boyfriend Brady who owns a local cafe. They enjoy spending time in Carmel on the beach on their days off and their relationship is growing. I like that they both prioritize their business and respect each others time. One of the classes at her shop finds a influencer attending who is disliked by the attendents and told to leave. When she is found murdered at the festival Courtney is on the case assisting the local police detective much to his chagrin. Courtney is excellent at piecing together red herrings and clues as this case leads to another murder that shocks the village. Courtney is determined to solve the case and works a suspect board in her shop as she interviews people and soon finds herself close to the murderer. A very exciting sleuth !

The sleuth ,kept me guessing and trying to piece together clues as I read along. Courtney is excellent at solving murders and has help from her Fiona as well .as the locals. The sleuth was very well crafted to conclusion which was very exciting. I love the writing of this series as its so well crafted and fun to read. The characters are richly drawn with the background of our beautiful Carmel Village. Well done to the author and please continue this wonderful series. Delicious receipes are included .

A delightful and whimsical cozy mystery with a touch of fantasy and gardening, this novel is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed the book, so I plan to go back read the previous ones for more backstory. The author intricately describes creating fairy gardens (which, even for black thumbs, was extremely fascinating), delicious food (that Monte Cristo!), and, of course, fairies. There's 10 yummy recipes included at the end, at least half with a gluten-free option. For fantasy or gardening cozy fans.

“ A Twinkle of Trouble ” by Daryl Wood Gerber the 5th instalment in “A Fairy Garden Mystery" series. I think this was my favourite so far, I love catching up with Courtney, Fiona her righteous fairy, Joss and Meagan and Pixie. I also enjoyed meeting Fiona’s sister Eveleen, and Ulra the cafe fairy. Plus I love all the recipes at the back of the book! I’m definitely trying the apple streusel muffins.! Carmel-by-the-Sea garden shop owner Courtney Kelly sees things others can’t—like fairies, and hidden motives for murder . . .

I found the story to be very entertaining as well as full of twists to keep you guessing till the very end. I am glad that things turned out the way they did but oh what a ride for poor Daphne and Scarlet.

I’m anxiously awaiting for the next instalment as I want to know what happens next …

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

A Twinkle of Trouble by Daryl Wood Gerber is a sparkling story with a double dose of fairies and murder, beautiful blooms, and a morsel of amour. I enjoyed catching up with Courtney, Joss, and Fiona. I was especially curious to hear about Fiona’s trip through the portal. The mystery was entertaining. Courtney investigates (of course) with help from her friends and fairies. I donned my sleuthing cap and gathered the clues along with Courtney. It was a fun whodunit to solve. Courtney helps her customers create lovely fairy gardens when she is not off sleuthing or enjoying time with friends (or stealing moments with Brady). The author sets the stage with her lavish descriptions of the Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Summer Blooms Festival, the fairies, and the fairy gardens. I like that we continue to learn new things about the fairies, and we get to meet new fairies too. A Twinkle of Trouble is the fifth A Fairy Garden Mystery and it can be read as a standalone for those new to the series. I like the fairy quote before each chapter. It was amusing that Courney’s book club was reading “Mum’s the Word” by Kate Collins. It was a cute tie in to the flower festival. There are recipes at the end of the book for some of the mouthwatering morsel mentioned (gluten free options too). A Twinkle of Trouble is an enchanting tale with gleeful fairies, a precious Pixie, tasty treats, murder and mayhem, an opening portal, a flower festival, and fun with friends.

This is the 5th installment in the Fairy Garden Mystery series. Courtney Kelly runs Open Your Imagination, a fairy/garden shop in Carmel by the Sea California. Courtney is thrilled to see the return of fairy Fiona return from a month long absence (to the fairy realm) and excited to meet Fiona’s sister Eveleen who she will be mentoring. Courtney is overextended as she has signed up for the Summer Blooms Festival as well has renting plot of land from her friend Natalie to help grow some of the items she sells in her shop. When a new group of friends arrives for tea at the shop there is lots of tension. Genevieve is shocked to hear she was not invited to be part of the festival as she is a social media influencer and was once part owner of Garden Delights with Oliver who is running the festival. Genevieve gets snarky with Scarlett another influencer and implies she is going to do her best to ruin the festival this year. The other ladies Petunia and Natalie think she must be kidding. As the festival starts, Genevieve is found dead just outside the festival grounds and it looks like she has been killed by a gardening tool. Courtney is trying not to get involved but she just can’t help herself as she stumbles upon information and Detective Summers wants her insights but then gets annoyed when she is involved. Natalie is an immediate suspect as she was seen arguing with Genevieve the day she died but then again so it Scarlett as Genevieve just wrote some unflattering posts about her. When Petunia, Natalie’s neighbor is murdered with one of her garden tools then Courtney thinks she is being framed. Natalie has no reason to kill either of the women but then again neither does anyone else. This was an engaging and quick read and although I had my thoughts on who could be the killer I was not sure until the very end when Courtney pulls it all together. I really enjoy this series and I like the characters. Meaghan is right by Courtney as they check things out as are Fiona and Eveleen, Brady and Joss. It was nice to see the introduction of a new fairy at Brady’s restaurant although he can still not see but it was nice to have a few more characters see the fairies. This has aspects of whimsical with the fairies with some intense mystery. Really keeps you engaged in the story. I look forward to see what happens next. Highly recommend.

A Twinkle of Trouble is the next installment in the delightful A Fairy Garden Mystery series. Courtney is preparing for the annual Summer Blooms Festival in the charming town of Carmel-by-the-Sea where she owns her fairy garden shop. She is absolutely delighted when Fiona returns from the fairy realm, along with her sister. Everything seems to be going great in Courtney's life until she discovers the body of one of her friends. Genevieve is found murdered outside of the festival grounds. To make matters worse, another of Courtney's friends is found killed the next day. Who is murdering these women and why? Courtney is determined to solve the case, whether the police want her help or not.

A Twinkle of Trouble is a charming cozy mystery novel. I absolutely love the setting; I need to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea immediately. The cast of characters is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoy the mixing of the fairies with the humans. I often do not like the supernatural in my cozy mysteries; however, Daryl Wood Gerber does such a great job of melding the fantasy with the reality. The fairies are such a fun addition to the intriguing mysteries of this series. I cannot wait for the next book!
