Very reminiscent of the Richard Scarry. Cute book on overcoming a bad situation and making the best out of it. With dinosaurs! Cute illustrations!!!

Cute but too tender for my heart... I understood the message behind the story and even though it was remarkable it left me disappointed. Maybe I'm a little to attached to material things but if they have a sentimental value there's no way I appreciate donate it to others. I mean, it'scute helping others but you can do it without giving away what it means so much to you.

Oh! what a truly delightful Pre-School & even early Primary School Book, plus a terrific Bedtime story book for grandparents to read to their grandchildren. It's a wonderful story about selfless acts regarding our precious favourite things that can sometimes become even more precious when passed on or given to someone else. The Illustrations are gorgeous and any young fan of Dinosaurs will adore them. I will be highly recommending this #GoodReads, #NetGalley, #Amazon.co.uk, #FB, #Instagram, # <img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/8a5b541512e66ae64954bdaab137035a5b2a89d2" width="80" height="80" alt="200 Book Reviews" title="200 Book Reviews"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>.

This is a cute, fun little story about a dino named Freda. Freda brings her favorite hat for picture day, but then it gets lost! All the other kids help her look for it, and eventually they do find it... but Freda decides to leave it for now, as a bird is using it for a nest. In honor of this kind decision, all the kids use their craft time to make new hats, and so everyone has a hat in their pictures.
The story features friendship and cooperation. The colors are vivid. And if you have a kid who already loves dinos, you can't go wrong.

I LOVED all the various characters and dinosaurs in Picture Day at Dino Play and so did all my four grandchildren.

Such a brilliant idea for a book with lovely illustrations and a great story that all little ones can relate to and gave us some ideas for dressing up during the summer holidays and having our own Picture Day with all the various accessories required.

A subtle message about sharing, generosity, kindness and finding solutions makes this educational as well as fun. Brilliant.

An adorable picture book with clever words and bright, eye-catching illustrations. Being a children's librarian, I would definitely pick this book for story time. Many themes were shared in the simplest form, friendship, teamwork, sacrifice and pride in your accomplishments. A real winner!

This was a cute book. I liked the message that it conveyed. I just didn't like that it felt so rushed. I mean, Im not looking for a novel in a children's book, but details and fun descriptions help. I did enjoy the ending. It was cute.

This book is another fun experience with the dinos at Dino Day Care. This time they are having picture day. When Freda wears her favorite hat and loses it after playing outside, her friends and Miss Beak help her look for it. Then, they work together to make decisions once they locate it. I love the comradery and problem solving this story depicts to eventually come to a happy ending.

Children ages 3-8 will love the beautifully illustrated pages of this picture book. I am always blown away by the fun detail woven within every page and character of a Sean Julian illustrated book. Each scene is an exploration all of its own.

I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.

It is so nice to see more dinosaur books, especially ones that are colourful and fun like this one. I also like that it has a great message as well, about making the best of a not so great situation, and power of having friends who support you.

I received a free copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review
Picture books have a creativity to them that many chunky novels could never muster, the latest in Sean Julian’s dinosaur daycare series sweetly portrays mundane excitement in a story that happens to feature dinosaurs, gestures of kindness from an innocent with a sweet ending add a sense of depth to the dinosaurs, particularly the children who will read this before they ever learn about palaeontology, praise all around.

"Picture Day at Dino Play," by Sean Julian is the PERFECT book for Picture Day. This charming tale of Freda the dinosaur's picture day mishap, highlights themes of generosity, friendship, and creativity. When Freda's favorite hat goes missing, the discovery that a bird has repurposed it into a nest leads to a surprising and heartwarming resolution with arts-and-crafts hats for all.
This is a great book for Preschool to second grade aged students.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.

Such a cute story about a young dinosaur who was so excited to wear her favorite hat on picture day but ended up sharing it for a greater purpose. I think this is a great lesson for kids to learn about our possessions and how to not only share them but also that sometimes its the best thing for all to move on from them. In this day, it's so easy to become attached to things and its a hard lesson for kids to learn that we don't need to hold on to all our things forever. This was taught in a very approachable way with cute graphics and characters. I would definitely get this for my kid and for his friends.

I soo much loved this book! A hat may have lots of purposes and it makes honour to its owner to allow the hat such a luxury!

If I ever taught Elementary School, this would be an epic book to use before picture day. I loved the dinosaurs and their personalities. The attention to details on each page was stunning. I really liked the message within these pages that sometimes something we love so much can be repurposed to be loved by another so much more and sometimes lose doesn't have to be sad or depressing.

I especially loved the teacher's creative solution to the problem at the end. Arts and crafts for the win!

What a cute book and I love the story about how he loved this hat. It is grandmother gave him this hat to wear To school. You didn't want to play with the other children outside.Because he did not want to lose his hat. I It was Picture day at the School. It was so cute. Watching all play with the hat seemed to get away.. When he sat down. You realized the hat was missing. It seemed very upset so everybody went looking for it The bird had a hat and she had a family. He wanted the hat back and he realized she needed it more. And this shows real courage. This is teacher's children how to not be so selfish. And give themselves to others.. He wanted the hat back, but he realized the Bird needed more. He still got his picture taken with all the other children.

Have you ever lost something? I know I have. This story for children takes us into the imaginative world of young dinos. Not only are they attending school it's picture day. Freda wears her special hat, one her grandma gave her....and loses it. Oh, no! But, wait. There's more.

She decides to leave it where they find it? Why? Because she becomes aware of the subtle fact that our lost items may be of more value to another. She's sure her grandma would approve of her decision and I bet you will, too. There's a great story of sharing and working together here, too, not to mention the diverse kinds of dinosaurs shown in the colorful, rather whimsical illustrations. Children can have a great deal of fun simply seeing what they can spy on each page. Be sure to tell them to keep an eye out for that cute little mouse that pops up frequently, not to mention the likes of a turtle and frog. The littlest dino is adorable, too.

Friends working together to support each other as well as a teacher, Miss Beak, who knows how to utilize a teaching moment. You'll love the jester's hat and, hmm, the teacher in me wonders how many wonderfully creative hat ideas children might be able to come up with themselves after reading this book. The teacher is honest with them, too, I'll note, and doesn't make rash promises, another plus and subtle hint that we might not always get what we want. I loved the colorful illustrations and different kinds of dinosaurs shown and, oh, be sure to check out what's on the board as they work on one page. Thanks #NetGalley and #NorthSouthBooks for the virtual invite into the classroom, albeit these students are surely much bigger than any I ever taught. Fun read.
