Can I just say Heart eyes?! This poor man needed to get married, or he'll lose his mortuary business. This was cute!
Thank you NetGalley and Lassen Press for the arc!

Fun and quirky. Although there were a few moments of emotional hardship, it was over all lighthearted and easy to read. Not the most memorable in a sea of romcoms but still a good read.

This was such a fun and quirky read! I loved the mix of dark humor, romance, and a touch of the macabre, it was totally different in the best way. The main character was super relatable, and the banter had me smiling the whole time. It wasn’t perfect pacing-wise, but overall it was a unique, charming story that I really enjoyed!

This was a fun and cozy read. Nothing particularly wrong with it, it just didn’t grip me like some other books. The plot was interesting but I think the execution fell short and it just ended up being very average.

This book had me laughing out loud so often, I’m pretty sure my cat thinks I’ve lost it. The witty banter and ridiculous scenarios hit just the right funny bone every time. It’s like a comedy and a mystery got together for a wild, hilarious dance party. Perfect for anyone who loves a smart, silly, and seriously entertaining read.

I had a really good time reading this! Any romance set in Ireland is already right up my alley, but this also had cute characters, strong dialogue, and fun takes on some of my favorite tropes. Looking forward to reading more from this author, I’m impressed that this is her debut.

This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys a love story with a bit of an edge—whether it’s the dark humor, the unconventional romance, or the emotional exploration of loss and healing. Ivy Fairbanks has crafted a memorable, quirky, and heartwarming tale that will resonate long after the last page is turned.

m not sure why it took me so long to pick this one up, but I’m so glad I finally did—I really enjoyed it! This would be the perfect read for spooky season or autumn, since we’re following a mortician (which just screams October vibes).
It features a delightful grumpy-sunshine dynamic, with a fun twist: the grump has to get married before turning 35 or risk losing his place in the family business. While I usually lean more toward enemies-to-lovers, this friends-to-lovers story really worked for me—it was heartfelt, charming, and surprisingly solid

I am obsessed with this book and understand why it blew up on TikTok!! Looking for my Callum asap...

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.
In this meet-cute - Lark Thompson is in Galway, Ireland trying to restart her life. After losing her husband to an accident and her job, she relocates to Ireland on a temporary assignment. Callum Flannelly is a mortician that is trying to keep ahold of the family business that has been in his family for decades. Unfortunately, his grandfather put a clause in the will that states Callum must be married by 35 to retain the business.
When Lark moves into the apartment next door to the funeral home, these two start up an unlikely friendship that helps them both move on with life.

I love this book with all my heart, I read it at least 3 times . The romance felt like a slow burn with really humorous moments.

A cute friends to lovers read. Cozy. A bit of a slow burn in the beginning, but still worth the read. Not a huge fan of the cover art but once you read the book, it truly makes sense and fits. So I grew to love it. Character development was well done. Very thankful to be given in advanced readers reader copy. I would give it a half star rating more, but I cannot based on the star metric so just wanted that to be known.

Thank you to NetGalley and thank you to the publisher for the chance to review this ARC. Full review coming soon.

Fairbanks crafts well-developed characters, with Lark's exuberance complementing Callum's reserved nature. The narrative delves into themes of grief, love, and personal growth, offering readers a story that's both entertaining and emotionally resonant

I loved this book! I could not put it down. The grumpy/sunshine trope mixed well with the marriage of convenience trope. The representation shown through the characters was beautifully done, it was nice that it wasn't their whole personality. The book talks about death in ways that many do not. I would recommend this book!

Oh, this book had me kicking my feet like an idiot! A mortician forced into the dating scene and an American animator avoiding all things death-related—PERFECT.
Callum might not ooze confidence, but his brooding, sarcastic nature somehow made him all the more lovable. And Lark? She was everything I wanted in an animator, Coo-key, southern and warm. Their dynamic was a delightful mess, tangled up in humor, yearning, and some NICE SPICE.
I also felt this book tackled some BIG emotions well like grief and how to heal and be healed. I think Callum and Ivy met at the perfect time.
Honestly, this was one of the most entertaining plots I’ve read in a while—I’d follow Callum into a hundred more bad dates if he teaches me some Gaelic! 💀❤️

Morbidly Yours is the first book in the Love in Galway series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Lark and Callum were opposites, but they had so much chemistry.
This was a bit of a slow burn, but I loved the connection and banter between the characters.
The grief was handled well, making this a bit emotional, but not too heavy.
I did think some parts were slow, and I struggled a bit to get through them. But overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.

This was such a fun read!
I love a friends to lovers book and this was written well!
Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review

I wanted to really love this book, but I believe I picked this up at the wrong time as it was not hitting the way I wanted it too. I might pick it up again in the future when the mood strikes. #moodreaderprobs

First off, I love the setting of Ireland. The way it was described in the book was so beautiful and makes me want to go!
I only like a slow burn if it’s written well and this one was written fantastically! Slow burn, “you must marry by X age to get the family fortune/business”, “I’ll help you find someone while I harbor secret feelings for you!” These are all tropes I love dearly and these characters were so fun to experience throughout the story.
When they finally did give in to the chemistry between them, the spicy scenes were hawttttt. And that dirty talk in Irish? Yes please!
I’m incredibly excited for the next book!
