Truth time: I had never listened to a Zach Williams song until after I read this book. Now, I want to.

A Little More Like Jesus is a book you need to read to your kids; it's just precious. The illustrations are bright and cheery, the words are almost lyrical (which was probably intentional), and the message is valuable. The world would be a better place if we all just tried to be a little more like Jesus each day. How often do we go about our lives so incredibly focused on ourselves when there are others around us hurting or in need? How can we help them and be good members of our community? What needs need to be met? What wounds need to be healed? How often do we really reflect the light of Jesus and act as His hands and feet?

A Little More Like Jesus is a children's book, but boy, I sure felt convicted reading it. It's a great opportunity to start conversations with your littles about why and how we can show the world the love of Jesus and the Father, and I really value that.

This is a nice book about biblical virtues and how to practice them. The illustrations are nice, but a bit busy. My daughter enjoyed the rhyming.

If you listen to Christian music, you have probably heard Zach Williams’ hit – “Less Like Me.” Now here’s a children’s book to help us pass along the same message through simple text and purposeful illustrations perfect for younger children.

“A Little More Like Jesus” adapts the lyrics of the song to fit a nice rhythm and rhyme text encouraging the reader to be aware of others’ needs around them and the many ways we can let the light of Jesus shine through us. As a group of kids jump on a bus with Williams himself, they tour places they see practical daily acts of kindness, love, patience, peace, faith and goodness.

The colorful illustrations depict many of these simple acts and open up wonderful conversation starters. Let kids share what they see and discuss how they could do these same things in their own lives.

This book sets a great early learning stage promoting awareness and noticing needs of others and then doing what Jesus would do. There is also a sweet prayer which would be a great way to start each day – “Jesus, help me be like you in all the things I say and do. Please let me see the way You see and find Your light inside of me.”

Thank you to Netgalley and Zonderkidz for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is great book for young kids with really cute illustrations and a story about taking kids on a bus ride to different places, but it delves into more important topics than just a simple bus ride. Kids are shown how to implement the fruits of the spirit, with examples given for how to show kindness, love, patience, peace, faith, and goodness. It also reminds children to love their neighbors as themselves and to put the Lord above everything else. A really good book for younger children, and I would highly recommend it!

Cute book for kids that shows them practical ways of living like Jesus! I was expecting it to be more along the lines of the song, but it's still a sweet book.

Such a cute book! I don’t have children yet, but when I do this will definitely be going on the shelf and will be a go to book for baby shower presents.

In a little more KINDNESS, and little more LOVE, in a little more PATIENCE, PEACE..and FAITH in God above. In a little more GOODNESS that's how I'll be. A little more like JESUS, who shines his light in me.

A sweet cadence of the fruit of the spirit to share with your young readers. Each fruit leads to a life lived in abundance with the things that matter. A great read to read over and over.

A special thank you to Zonderkidz and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

It's incredible to find children's books that are not simply entertaining but rather provide opportunities for children and adults to look beyond themselves to serve others and Jesus. The illustrations in this book point to the story that Zach Williams is trying to tell about how to show the fruit of the Spirit to everyone they meet.

My favorite line from the story says "Jesus help me to be like you in all the things I say and do. Please let me see the way YOU see and find your light inside of me." The book points to seeking Christ in our lives rather than ourselves, which is much needed in the world.

Thank you to NetGalley and Zonderkidz for an advanced copy of this incredible book!

Zach Williams is a Christian singer and songwriter. In addition to this new children’s book, A Little More Like Jesus, he has also written about his own life story in the book Rescue Story.

A Little More like Jesus is a simple story about being like Jesus by living out six of the key fruits of the Spirit. The text is sparse and unimaginative. It is rhyming throughout which is also a hindrance to the story. I think children will enjoy the illustrations and the message is certainly a worthy one: love others, do good to others and grow in faith.

In spite of an uninteresting storyline, if you are looking for something short and simple to introduce some of the fruits of the Spirit to your kids, this might fit the bill, but I’m not sure it will be one they will ask for on repeat.

I did read Rescue Story and enjoyed it. I feel that writing to teens and adults is more up Mr. Williams’ alley.

I received an ARC copy of this title from the publisher and Net Galley in exchange for my honest feedback.

This book instills how to be a little more like Jesus, just as the title states. I always try my best to make sure my children are a little more like Jesus. We, as a family, enjoyed reading this together, multiple times. Kindness, love patience and faith are just a few ways we can show on a daily basis on how to be more like Jesus. Such a cute story with lovable illustrations.

A very sweet read. The poetry throughout had me singing the words which I know children will enjoy. The explanation of the fruit of the spirit along with the illustrations will make it enjoyable and understandable for children. The illustrations are beautiful and I love the inclusivity shown. I will recommend A Little More Like Jesus to my mom friends.

4 Stars

A Little More Like Jesus by Zach Willams was beautifully illustrated and a fun book to read to littles. I am pretty sure its just one of his songs that they made into book form. The song I am thinking of is Less Like me. The lyrics are a little different but it tells a sweet story of one wanting to be- hence the title- a little more like Jesus. Would recommend to people with younger children.

This was cute and sweet reminder for children 4-6 years old to remember to be like Jesus. I liked the values presented in this book. They were clear and straightforward and taught in a positive way. I would recommend this book for any Christian school or personal library.

This book is absolutely adorable. I love the colors and the overall message that it provides! :) I found myself acting as if the book were a song, it was so catchy and I loved the rhyming throughout. Through each scene you are understanding that everyone has an obstacle to overcome and that the only way to get through it is by Jesus himself. I also loved that the bus stopped as different destinations, that was very clever. Overall, 5 stars!

A Little More Like Jesus by Zach Williams is based on his song. It is beautifully illustrated. The bus takes the kids around town to stop at the different qualities. This would be a good introduction to help teach kids about some of the fruit of the Spirit. Also, it could be used for a lesson on the value of giving more than we receive. As well as others too!

Thank you to Netgalley and Zonderkidz for the advanced reader copy.
